That is a question for the GM. After all, a repeating crossbow may be a little too advanced. I, however, would think that is should be feasible. So, I would recommend you put it in and see if the GM protests. :D

Not more difficult to use, just harder to aim if the horse is moving. But having a horse would make it easier to carry the bow. :D

Of course, that's assuming you carry the quiver on your back. And you would have a foot or two sticking over the top of your head, but that's alright, isn't it?

Yes, that would generally help. But bows aren't that cumbersome. You just unstring the bow and stick it in the quiver with the arrows. Good rule of thumb is that if the bow is twice as long as the arrows, it's a longbow. Unless you're talking about a greatbow. Those things are bigger than most humans. :D

No, the length would not be an issue. Longbows are only about 4 and a half to 5 and a half feet long, depending on who they were made for. Easily small enough to carry with you. You'd just have to unstring the bow to put it away. And that kind of bow is the usual bow that people used back in the day. :D

Yes. Most bows that people use today are longbows. When you think of a longbow, what do you think of? Because, and I'm going to use the Lord of the Rings as my example, the bow Legoless uses is a longbow. He doesn't seem to encumbered by it. Heck, if made right, a longbow and it's arrows is lighter than a longsword. :D
