Not out of line at all. From my understanding, certain weapons do have advantages against certain enemies. For example: one character had a rapier which wasn't as effective vs a bone type enemy. At least, that's how it was in the novel. :)

Yeah. I have a feeling that SV is gonna take forever. I responded like an hour after he messaged me and I still haven't heard back. But that's okay.

Yea, that's the general idea. If you had less than 6, then you wouldn't have to replace, but since you have 6 according to your SU, you'll have to forget one of the others.

You would have to ask SV about that.
