I went on the World Trade thing to trade a 066 Machop...I was looking for a 094 Gengar. I know the one I have is a fake because it says its index number is 060. What should I do with it...can they still be used or will it harm my game in any way?

This is my first Pokemon (Heart Gold), but I have 7 hours 54 minutes under my belt. I beat got my first badge, but I'm ready to do some trades and/or battles. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
