  • Well, as far as battles go, I actually like the ones that don't make me worry I will lose. Because I don't normally go in for that adrenaline rush feeling, and I don't care if it's a game... If I decide to do something, I give it 110%, until I wear myself out at least. Then I give it a rest, but if or when I come back to it, I still expect the same high quality from myself. That's my standards - speed is overrated, quality is better than quantity.

But, you're right, I play Pokémon for fun - and that's why I don't like the battles to be too challenging. I liked the way they did it before - if you battle all the trainers, your levels are on track and you don't have to do any extra training. But on DPP they make you have to either struggle through with underlevelled Pokémon, or spend hours training, or raise only one Pokémon and have trouble with some of the trainers and gyms. On Platinum I copped out and just started battling mostly with my Dratini, using it like some people use their starters, evolving it up and using my Dragonite to defeat the League. And that's why balancing challenging battles with easy ones is important. We have the Battle Frontier/Tower, for people who really need that challenge. Or maybe they could put a hard mode and an easy mode (I would love that, I need to see if I can figure out how to do that with SotW... probably involving a switch, duplicate trainers, and a conditional branch...).

Eh, no, it's not so much that they should have replaced Ash, because then the show would have been just as repetitive. They just need to build on his personality more. How did the things he's been through shape his personality? I mean, you don't just forget saving the world from rampaging legendary Pokémon, do you? But the shows, as far as I know, never/hardly reference it nor show any changes that could have come from it. This may be a change made when the show was dubbed - I really haven't looked into it, and really don't care. They've broken the willing suspension of disbelief, and once they did so, even things we would normally accept, we start to question. I'm hoping to make my game in such a way that it can be lived in like a good book, for the most part.

I officially like the Battle Hall (Platnum ^_~). Took my Dragonite in there, and once I got the hang of it, I managed to get a 106 or so win streak. Got the first symbol (or whatever it's called) in there. Course, I need to get a Focus Sash (I have one on Pearl, but I don't have hold of another DS to trade), so I can knock out Pokémon who use Blizzard before I can even make a move... XD And after that, the only bad thing that could happen is me not being able to OHKO one of those fast ice-using Pokémon. Right now my Dragonite (Lucy) has Fire Punch for use on those, but I might go for Brick Break later... dunno.

Actually, unlike my aunt and uncle, my mom is understanding about my asthma (which has been acting up something awful because of the cats that live here). And even though my mom used to give me a rotten time before, she's a little better now. More just oppinionated than bossy. ^_~ But my asthma's been at me, and there's mucus in my lungs because my nose starts acting up any time I stay in their house too long. Needless to say I've been spending much more time than usual out-of-doors.

But, when we go out driving, I watch the scenery very closely. I want to learn better how to map for SotW. Back home we don't have such prominent terrain. Here, there are mountains, valleys, hills, rivers, farmland... Back home we mostly just see trees. Or buildings, depending where you are. So the scenery here is a good basis for how I should map places that are not Forest Town. ^^ Actually, when we were in Yellowstone, I was paying a lot of attention to the sick and dead trees, because I don't normally get to see that many, and I need to get a good idea what they look like so I can make tiles for the Wastes. I saw the fallen logs and was like, O_O...Perfect! Because fallen logs would make very good mazes and blockages in the Wastes. I was also reminded to make tree stumps by watching there. And I can now see better in my mind what the Wastes will look like.

So... you're the kind of person who likes to travel but can't? I'm normally like that, but it's about seeing new things, and doing new things. And never about the people. What some people see in people watching, I may never understand. Now, listening to people when they don't know anybody is listening, or they just don't care... you can learn things doing that. Much more entertaining.
Yes. :D So how are you? What happened to PD? I now have PS CS4 so espect some major graphics. :D
First of all, I'm a guy. Secondly, you take this PC thing way too serious. Get out of your house more, please. :( The whole Spey thing was a joke, get over it.
Meh, I'm backed up on my messages, lol. Sorry, I don't really play on Shoddy. :<

It makes me get out of bed. What else is new? :P

Ah, interesting.. I'm not sure what to major in. <<

If you haven't noticed, I'm full of contradictions. It makes life more thrilling, don't you agree? |DDDD
