You probably have a short in the the cords connecting the video card in your laptop to the screen. This would probably cost about 20 dollars to fix yourself, but I am almost positive you wouldn't be able to yourself..just because you're a technology wizard! :D

But if you took it to a repair shop they'd probably make you pay around 70 dollars for a diagnostic test then another 100-200 to actually fix it. :( I don't know if it's worth it
