I prefer reading since it's easier to put down a manga and come back to it without losing the flow of the story than it is to pause an anime and come back to it without losing the flow.

Pikachu is the franchise's mascot, so of course it'll get the most exposure. It's not a matter of fairness, just marketing. And it's not like Ash is scared to evolve Pikachu, it's been repeatedly established that Pikachu doesn't want to evolve.

In general, I prefer physical copies of... pretty much anything, manga included. I don't feel comfortable with digital, quite frankly. I subscribed to WSJ for a while but the digital nature of the product turned me off, so I cancelled the subscription.
