How smug am I allowed to be about pretty much describing Corviknight earlier in this thread, purely as an idea of how to do a Rook to carry on the chess theme?

My only bit wrong was they based it on a raven, not a rook (bird) but I think both species are related.
I'm not drawn to any but don't dislike any.
As I'm not going to ruin the games for myself by finding out everything I can before release I'll probably decide which I pick during my first playthrough.
You're literally complaining about the towns in a region having some variance.
Let's have 8 identikit towns instead, all lowlands and not near a shore. Don't want to have a mountain town or a port. All with the same climate, but don't want a snowy one.

Base it off of a Rook (bird, native to the UK) with something in the design to suggest it's a relation to chess.
Perhaps Flying/Steel, with the wings in a defensive suggesting position, as the rook in chess is also known as a castle. Not a common typing so far either, and carries on with all...
I think the train line that goes past the lakes will be the blocked off part, so that you initially have to go past/through the lakes on a route.
Just above the mountain that the most southerly train line enters there's a building that looks like a station, so a train through the mountain...
There's also one of those in Westbury, though not as old, and one of a person called the Cerne Abbas Giant
The one of the giant is thought to have been political satire!
