nix and Graveler may not have died because, well, they're just big masses of rock. Magmars actually have internal organs and such (as I believe) and should die when broken into pieces.

Well, It's not TOTALLY random. In the games, the rocket guy in the warehouse said that Giovanni's child had red hair, so it is sort of based on the games. I dislike Emerald. HE URINATES EVERYWHERE.
