I've gotten several critical captures (I think I've gotten about three or four, my latest was on a Zebstrika), but I have yet to find a shiny. ;o; Latest WTF moment was when I was in random matchup battles on the GTS and I almost lost to a level 1 Protect-spamming Pokemon -_- I can't remember...

I'm not too sure why people didn't like them. I like them, personally. My top two favorite Pokemon are Hoenn Pokemon (Gardevoir and Mawile). I actually really liked Hoenn itself as well, minus all the water routes.
