Pokebeach mentioned some rumors that if you pre-order the games you'll get the Zoroark event that the shiny beasts unlock, but it might just be that the download is coming to the store after the games are released.

The Global Link and the Dream World site crashed because Nintendo's servers couldn't handle all the traffic. They got the Global Link working back up again after a few delays, but the Dream World is still down. It was on Bulbapedia and Serebii.

Nintendo's gotta be involved somehow. It was never as bad as it is now. And with the fiasco that happened in Japan after B&W's release, it wreaks of foul play.
