Yeah, it did look a bit hefty. I basically did mine by picking out a four-line paragraph I wrote for an RP and running it through word (humorously, it was 1111 characters, spaces included XD). *Shrug*

Anyhow, that last one only looks like, two-lines-and-a-bit-more here in the convo, and though 624 (which is what Word counts this as) looks a bit puny to me, I suppose it's a soft-start for the newbs. Ehh...we can always raise it if it turns out inadequate anyway. I say we go with this for now. :3

Personally, I think one paragraph is a full four lines. Stretching it out so you have one word on the last line is just plain cheating.

As for which screen size we pick, well it's all cool with me as long as we have a stable point of reference. With my screen and layout, four lines is roughly 1,110 characters (spaces included in this, of course) in standard, size 2 verdana. (Just realized that it can't really be typed out because the post window freaks out at solid blocks of text this big and throws the characters all over the place xP)

Feel free to use whatever makes up one paragraph on yours, though. Like I said; as long as I have something solid and objective to lean my judgment on it's all good. :3

Third-strike out works for me, since I know that there really are people too dumb enough to take a hint on the first warning. Sure, they don't usually take a hint on the second either, but at least the RP master gets a chance to boot them out before they sink the RP this way.

About the one-paragraph thing, though: how about typing out a block of characters that's precisely one paragraph in length and use that as a default for 'this is how much text we want'? That way, regardless of what kind of layout or monitor the viewer is using, there will always be an accurate representation of the minimum to refer to.

Ehh...just thought it would save a whole lot of confusion if we had something which we could point at and say 'this is a paragraph, your post is shorter than this and therefore not a paragraph'. Plus, that way no-one can say that we're being biased in determining what gets infracted and what doesn't.

Erm...am I making any sense with this? It's a bit late around here so it's hard to be sure. XD

(the possibility finally occurred to me too, actually o.o) I already found someone who clearly went below the limit, though, (I mean, it's precisely two lines on my screen, OOC included) and seeing as how you already posted a thread warning I just wanted to ask: what's your policy with those? (currently, I just slapped on a warning of my own and infracted as per section rule #5) I know there was a post about that around at some point, but I can't find it. x.x
