Those Opacity tools sound good, just as long as they aren't used as much as I did for my current them XD; Gimp only has the opacity option for brushes (though this one might be good), and the blur, smear, and burn tools. For the last three mentioned, it doesn't do a lot, last time I checked, though.
I don't think I am going to opacitate anything anytime soon. As I mentioned, I horribly abused it on my current image. I don't think it could be seen if I hadn't used one of the distorting effects.
