Theres a "grosser block" function on A-Map. For example, map a tree just block by block. Then hold down "Ctrl", and with the right mouse button held, drag the mouse over the tree you mapped. A small box showing the tree should appear as you drag over it. When you click on the map (left click, this time), an entire tree will be placed.
It might be a little tricky to get used to, but you should get the hang of it :)
