  • Haha, I just saw Mt.Lucas...

Also I have a favor to ask you can you do tile inserting for me... :/

Cause, A-map is bugging for me everytime I load a tileset
    it becomes monochromed... :(

I'll send you back to hack after I tried mapping Route 2 and the first two floors of the cave. And laso by inserting new Pokemon.

And I'll go with the grey textbox as you suggested.
Hey pretty! How is going with the light version?!! waiting for news :)
    It's bairley

Also I'm not on because I have school which takes up a lot of my time... :/ plus I sleep at 8... :/

Be on line around 6pm on friday at your time cause I'll be on by that time... :)
    Lol.

Well If I'm going to apply for a college grant once I graduate High School here I probably be back studying in 3 rd Year high School since the Philippines and America don't have the same curriculum.
That's kinda funny actually, hahha! But then again, we can be at the same "point of life" so it's obvious we may pick up many similar ideas too.

Just googled x86 processors quickly. Like said in Wikipedia: "x86 denotes a family of instruction set architectures[2] based on the Intel 8086 CPU."

Basically, x86 processors cover many different processors out there used in the past. You know, if I'm not mistaken, you may run into z80 assembly there as well and figuring out how a lot of data is coded in RBY and GSC if you ever feel like experimenting with them.
"It is hard to show that your hack/ a hack as a good story. Because either A: You keep it a secret for the player to find out, but then most people will have a hard time starting it/giving it a try."

I've a strong feeling DE is like A here. At least it is totally different from what you would expect but as minus, the storyline can be a bit cliche at times though. I was going on for something you wouldn't see in any other hack and in this one, even having gym leaders to face would be totally pointless even though I have added them there. You're on a quest to reach some archeologists from the uni you're studying in a place called Rocky Mountain who found some strange writing about Elemental Orbs and the past there. Doesn't sound that cool but as things go on, you're going to understand more and more about the past leading into an epic way of ending pokemon, or maybe even an RPG game. But yeah... it doesn't work the way I want it at times though, there are still lots of things to be improved about the planning I've done.

Well, assembly isn't that difficult. Especially if you're planning to study ARM/THUMB that is. I'd even say z80 for GB/C is a bit "harder" because of all the restrictions behind the operations you can use but it ain't that bad either. I have never properly used ARM/THUMB for GBA hacking though so I may be wrong what I said though.
Gotta agree I mostly follow the same line as you. Most of my time on rom hacking business goes with planning and implementing new stuff in my own hack.
Out of curiosity, I tend to test hacks other people have made though. But most times, I don't get enough addicted to them so that I could actually get farther than play for an hour at maximum.

But I've got to say that even if you don't take much time at all with other hacks, test out my DE! Maybe not yet but sometime this year when I should be able to release another beta.

And not just advertising it here to you but it's actually different from the others, in a refreshing way. See for yourself, watch that video in my profile here ;)

But I guess the reason they asked me was partly the fact I tend to hack gen II instead. But it's not just that; I believe they felt like asking me is because I have so wide experience with rom hacking these days. There aren't many restrictions what I couldn't do anymore; simple assembly coding is a piece of cake, hahha.
Well, I actually picked that idea soon after being asked as one of the judges there. I refused though; simply because of the facts it would have taken a lot of time and I'm not a big fan of any of the three hacks that qualified (so that I would have had motivation to even finish one of them).

And yeah, I guess it feels a bit strange seeing me point some background to that thing you had been wondering. But I neither know anyone else who gira and DrFuji asked for the job (or about the one who happened to replace me either).
