A lot of our nerd conventions have been formed since CONVergence. I think the only cons older are MiniCon (run by some SciFi organization) and maybe that one horror movie convention thingy.

Very. We already have a convention that can kinda claim it's role as our comic con, though: CONvergence, which started back in 1999. Very young as far a major conventions go.
