yeah he would start as a recruit at about 17 or 18 years old and there would be two categories of pokemon to use as in personal pokemon would be the ones that you choose as your normal party and pokemon that are breed in mass for battle purposes (imagine an escuadron of charizards attaking an enemy squadron of soldiers, an infiltraton squad in which your best friend Koga is a new recruit aswell etc....lots of death and very sad stuff..like i said not for children) and you would not be limited to electric poks that would come much later at a very dire cost and the premiece of the trama would be about trying to figure out why is it exactly that you are fihting for and things like that...thats why i like avara´s hack so much it would be about making decisions and having to deal with the repercutions etc....

but anyway, yes i will check the tutorial sectionf the forum thankyou very much.... however, if V.3 of mirage of tales pops out alll of that will be posponed until further notice lol

There's an entire section dedicated to tutorials and such, I suggest you start there.

Also, you could start a team for this project, but I would suggest breaking the story into chapters beforehand. Like, Lt Surge wasn't always a lieutenant, right? What were his days like just before the war? How about when he was promoted to Private? Each rank could have an entire chapter to it, and each chapter could focus on a different Pokemon for him to rely on, as a partner.

"Electric Pokemon saved me during the war." He didn't say 'an' electric Pokemon, but he implied that it had been many electric Pokemon. I think this would pay additional homage to his story.

Another thing: There is a forum sub-section for making teams to work together on hacks. Just have a look around, and don't rush into it. That's the best advice I can offer.

Back to your concept: I'd highly suggest going with a chapter based system, where each chapter is one ROM, and you would have a story that continued from one ROM to the next. How you do it is up to you, but I just thought I'd give my suggestion on the matter.

I had a little trouble getting used to the UI as well, but it's pretty fun and easy to use once you get going a bit. I'm sure you'll find everything out for yourself soon enough.

Do you have any experience in making hacks?
