Yes, feel free to tweak the numbers; I sure do! Let us say that my target was:
Delay 600
Second 30
Frame 5

I will change the numbers to these minimum/maximum:
585 - 615
28 - 32
1 - 10

The wider the ranges, the more adjacent results, and the easier to find what you had actually hit by flipping the coin. The default numbers are a bit narrower, so expand the range.

Yes, opening the journal where the initial page shows caught/defeated advances your frame by +2.

Correct, your target time is the second you must hit continue.

You should be able to synchronize the DS clock with an external clock... If they are not matching up, find a better clock with a clear seconds reading.

If you are a few seconds too early, just compensate by waiting/counting a few seconds later before powering on, mashing A, and hitting continue. :)

Yeah, trying to hit your target time/spread can be difficult... I have been RNG abusing for almost a year and I still mess up a lot. -sadface-

First, know your parent's IVs, as well as their order in the daycare (who is first, second, etc)
Ideally, you wait until the man has an egg and you save while next to him.
Turn off, note DS time/date, turn on.
Collect egg asap.
Use Dppt Egg Finder, right click, 'adjacent results' to reveal the wrong spreads nearby your 'target/desired' spread... So you have all these spreads, but what is your delay? We can easily find it...

The coin toss determines your delay without having to catch a new Pokemon...
Do coin toss 10 times and note the exact heads/tails sequence. Enter that in some kind of Coin Toss option (I am describing this based on memory...) and it will pinpoint your delay, yay.

Good, now you just need to determine what frame you landed on.
Once you hatch the egg, check its IVs via Candy/Daycare. Using Parent IVs, match up your offspring's IVs with the spread on a particular frame (usually frames 1-8).

Aka coin toss and adjacent results are helpful tools. :)

If that does make sense... Hmm, carefully reread it, ask for some silly analogy, maybe I can provide pics? I really wish there was a simplistic RNG guide here.. :(

I use the IV check code; however, if you lack such resources, use Metalkid's IV calculator.
Input the current stats+nature; then, input the stats for the next 2-6 levels or so (raised via rare candy). IVs are pretty accurate by levels 15-20. If you can catch a Pokemon around level 50, that would really help.. If not, catch something around level 20 or so like I said.

Hmm, read through the guide several times and get the pre-requisites (coin toss app, clock that reads seconds, a lot of patience, good breeding parents, lol).
