  • I haven't particularly looked much into this (it's not like I've even reached the demo stages yet...), but from what I have read you just have to make sure that you import any RTP resources you use into your project, and then go to Game > Select RTP and choose none. Then you should be able to use the normal encrypt thing that RMXP has (though the encryption is very weak I heard. You'd probably have to google or become an expert programmer if you want something stronger).
Sounds good. I'll be waiting then. It might take me a little bit to make it all the way through the beta though, since I've been so busy lately. I'll get a couple weeks off here shortly.
I see. I'm pretty sure there was someone on here I know/knew that mentioned anime to some degree before. Couldn't remember if it was you or someone else. Must have been someone else.
I only use characters that I think look at least halfway cool, so I never bothered with him for more than one battle (just to show my little brother I could beat his best character with anyone. he's pretty good and likes to rub it in, so I taught him a thing or two). Most of the characters though are fairly mediocre (I literally used every character against him).

And are you familiar with MyAnimeList.net?
Haha I use Kirby too. Probably the most versatile character in the game (and his jumping ability is overpowered. in the old SSB, link sinks like a rock. literally).
Got the last one, still don't have the first two. For some reason, I still prefer the mechanics of SSB 64 over the newer ones (even though the graphics are 10x better), except for the newer feature where you can hold the attack button to charge. I always miss that when playing the old one.
Ok, yeah I've heard of each of those. I actually considered getting SwapMagic before. Have you ever got into playing with flash memory and stuff (a great way to brick your expensive console btw. but equally great for un-bricking it)?
I'd like to get a Vita as well. I'll probably try to wait until at least two good games are out for it (the FFX remake being the first, unconditionally. Don't know why, but I always loved that one).
Just wait until the ps4 comes out. Even if you finish all the ps2 ones by then, you'd then have all the ps3 games catch up on. It'd be kind of cool since you'd never run out of good games to play, but then you'd still never get to play all the great games that have ever been made. <= saddest fact ever right there. You any good at speed runs? ;)
The .Hack series is another I've been planning to get into (as well as the associated anime/manga for completeness). The PS2 generation was probably the best so far as far as I'm concerned. I put more hours into it (and Super Smash Bros/Super Mario 64/Start Fox 64 on the N64) than any other console.
Man I'm getting behind on games. I used to always know what the newest games were and always knew which ones to get. Now I have probably a couple hundred on my "to play someday" list. Tales looks like a good place to start though. And ps2 ftw (I've been planning on doing some imports as well).
I probably would have got it for the PS3 if it was on PSN. I grabbed it on the 360 Games on Demand while searching for other games. I'm not too bothered by reduced content, since I often don't have the time or the attention span try for 100% completion (I've come close a couple times though). Is it one of the better titles in the series?
Actually, I'm 99% sure that's the one I have (I'm too lazy to hook the 360 back up to make sure). I think what got me interested initially was Kosuke Fujishima's role as the character designer. I've been keeping up with his manga Ah! My Goddess for a while, and his distinctive art style is nice. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that Vesperia is pretty good (why else would you be remaking it?).
I've been planning to get into the tales games for a very long time now. They look pretty awesome (I actually have one, but I've been doing game dev instead of playing, so I have a few new games that have been laying around). I haven't left Pokemon, but I have moved from developing in Essentials to making a Pokemon SRPG in standard RMXP. Hopefully I finish it. I haven't dropped Essentials either though. I still like to come up with little systems or figure things out in it (and some of Poccil's code has been helping my new project), and help out the community. I've just put off making an actual game with it is all.

Good luck on your projects. It can be tough work, but it's pretty fun. And can eat up your free time faster than a team of sumo wrestlers can clear out an all-you-can-eat buffet.
