My thread got featured on the pokecommunity twitter, holy cow. :O Anyway, here's a cute little absol I painted. Still getting the hang of this program.
Finally got comfortable enough with Paintstorm Studio to try painting a person. It's my trainer OC Nani. Fairly happy with how it came out, all things considered.
Thanks! :D I'm hoping to do some more gouache later. I think the difference in style is more me trying to get used to the program, my sketching process on the computer is a lot different than my process on paper, but I'm glad it worked out.

This is a fake title screen I tried making for...
I cut out the pixellated pokemon logo from the LeafGreen title screen since I couldn't find it with a quick google search. Someone's probably done it already, but oh well. Feel free to use for whatever.
Edit to avoid a double post: I also made some blank trainer bases from D/P trainer sprites...
I'm having some trouble getting ROMs to open with this tool. I have a Fire Red (E) version ROM that I attempted to load into this tool. I haven't made any changes to the ROM yet. I got this error:
I tried hitting yes, and then I got this:
Am I doing something wrong? Should I be changing...
Thanks! But what if I like checkerboard birdies? :( Kidding, I did go a bit wild with that. I'm just not used to working with cel shading, I'll get over it. (Almost wrote checkerbirds.)
Paintstorm Studio. It's an incredible program. It's on sale for just $20 right now.
Ah, okay. I'll check those out. I wish I could find a centralized and updated list of all the useful tools that people are using these days. It's hard to know what's outdated and what isn't, especially when beginner tutorials written a while ago are recommending old tools. Thanks!
What tools do you use, then? Most of the ones I've encounter have been .exe files. I'm trying to work with wine/winebottler but I don't know if I'm doing it correctly; I managed to get Advance Map working but I haven't been able to open XSE with it. I also got YAPE open but it's not reading any...
Hey there, I like to draw so I'm going to put my drawings and doodles here! I'm also getting started with spriting so expect some of that too.

That's good. I was afraid I'd be completely outnumbered, glad to know I'm welcome here regardless. And thank you! I've been poking my nose in there and I'm curious. I already have an idea for a region but I have to ask, are we allowed to include fakemon? It doesn't say anything about that in the...
I'm hoping to give rom hacking a shot, but the problem is that I have a mac. To run boot camp I would need to buy a windows license and I don't want to spend that money right now. I've heard that people have made hacking tools for mac, but are there enough of them that I will be able to do a...
A maned wolf pokemon would be awesome. Fire type is the first that comes to mind based on the coloring, but it could be anything. I just want to see those stilt legs exaggerated.
We also need a narwhal pokemon. Water/Steel or Water/Fighting?
I'm brand new to this forum, but I had a rather silly idea for a fic and I was wondering if anyone thought it would be worth writing. The middle is a foggy mess right now so I won't try unless I get some idea for that, but here is the basic concept:
A trainer, probably an airheaded surfer dude...
