Anatomy of a Blaziken
Okay, so I'm trying my hand at a Blaziken moveset, and so far I have the following:
Blaziken @ Power Herb (Def - / Speed or Atk +)
Shadow Claw
Solar Beam
Swords Dance
Sky Uppercut/DynamicPunch
Thoughts?
Because Tyranitar is your lead, don't rely on SR damage for OHKOs. I agree, ditch the Fight/ Grass type.
AttackThorn? No. Ferrothorn is a wall, period, the same as a SweepSmeargle doesn't exist. Go Thunder Wave, Leech Seed, Iron Head/ Power Whip, and some other status move.
Light Screen lets Claydol get off an extra attack or three (depending on the foe. It took 4 sunny day Solar Beams from Typhlosion before going down) before it is KO'd. Is a situational move worth the trade off?
Agilitygross > Metagross; but would Psychic be better over Zen Headbutt due to...
I've decided Smeaegle is too high-risk, high-reward for my taste, so I replaced it with an admittedly extremely situationally vulnerable Scisor.
Scisor
Baton Pass
Agility
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
I kept getting swept by ice types, so I added:
Medicham,
Drain Punch
Ice Punch
Hi Jump Kick...
Togekiss has Morning Sun due to my relative inability to access Roost.
I don't want Smeargle to have to retaliation move, but I am going to replace Flail with Destiny Bond.
Should I forego Salamence for Dragonite or Haxorus?
It really is situational. Bulky pokemon benefit from Scald, and Suicides or Attackers prefer Surf. I personally have access to Hydro Pump, but it's my Salamence that uses it, not a water type.
Well first off, you don't have Sand Stream, which pretty much would cripple a Sandstorm team without it. Your choices are pretty well limited here, having only Hippowdon and Tyranitar to choose from. I reccomend Hippowdon, as it has far better typing than its counterpart.
Hippowdon...
Well said. I have sort of the same issue, except mine is with a Shell Smashing Smeargle. ...Did NOT relize the triple S until now. Anyway, the point is that your Pokemon shouldn't absolutely rely on another for their boosts if you want them. Try giving your others a bag of trickity tricks too.
Give Haxorus a Dragon Fang, and try teaching it Brick Break or Earthquake so you don't get walled by steel types.
Samurott needs a Metronome or Mystic Water, depending on your preference. Wise Glasses are also an option, but I would personally prefer the 20% boost to half of my moves over a...
Sure, I'll bite. The team as a whole has changed a lot though, look at the thread for the details. I can use any constructive criticism I can get. Keep in mind I only compete in double battles.
As far as the rest vs. roost thing, if I could get another roost TM I would use it.
Empoleon is going to know Ice Beam as soon as I migrate a TM. Grass knot is a great idea, but it has to know Aqua Jet because it's a swan song move. Empoleon is slow, so Aqua Jet lets it give whatever it's...
Smeargle is too slow for that to work, and it's HORRIFYINGLY LOW stats ensure that anyone with an offensive stat higher than 100 will turn the Smeargle in question into an artisan sausage.
That being said, I like a mixture of both. I only have one pokemon that doesn't have a self-healing/...
