  • Kaiser, I was wondering whether you would be writing anything for the next issue of GDW?
So much of Pokemon fanfiction sucks because it's the same thing. People don't try to explore things or characters or actually writing using Pokemon as a storytelling device. That's 'cause so many just want to insert romance into a Shonen anime utterly devoid of it, or write cookie-cutter OC stories.

...At any rate, what are fangames but playable fanfics, anyway?

Don't hate fanfics on principle. Sure, Godwin's law means that so many of them suck, but that means you're missing 10% of actual quality writing.
There is always more to learn. Always.

...I actually haven't written that many Pokemon game plots wholesale; Uranium's plot actually came about as a collaboration between me and the constantly aforementioned Delta fellow. He came up with the basic idea and I built off of that (working with a bunch of other people along the way). Which makes me a complete hypocrite when I tell people "plan out your game's plot before starting." But then, Uranium isn't -my- game. I do not program.

I DO write fanfics though. (It's not as bad as it sounds, trust me.)
Three people is enough for a conversation, right? (it'll still sound forced, but whatever.) Serves me right for starting a topic about plot in a forum full of people that think that Oblivion is "koala tea" writing. (actually, no, they probably don't. Sorry, correction: they don't think that Pokemon games should have any writing at all. That they should be those silent films with the cards held up every so often that have dialogue on them.)
And then I got one post, and then I replied, and then you posted and I have nothing to say. :/ Regrettable, yes? I do hope it catches someone's interest enough for it to be salvaged from the second page. In the meantime, we should recruit this Notch-eared Pichu fellow to our cause. Seems intelligent.
Happens sometimes. *shrug* Well, you can always apologize (as I did to Nyu, although now that I look back on it I really didn't need to give an overblown apology, I was fairly mild in my article. But then, I wasn't exactly apologetic, either. xD I was more like "suck it up." Well, it worked out in the end.)

...I have an idea. The next time I write something opinionated (for GDW or anything else major), I'll leave it for a day, think about it, then return the next day and make sure what I'm saying doesn't make me sound like a complete ass. Or maybe I won't; I am a bit of a troll after all.
Oh, so I just noticed that it was YOU who wrote that scathing review of Rise of Oblivion. Completely true, of course, but also vicious. It seems like you were kicking a dead puppy, albeit a deformed chihuahua that didn't have long to live at any rate, but still. You probably could've neutered it, too (as in, given suggestions for developers in the future so that this... thing... doesn't reproduce). Or given some more constructive criticism in general, so that Freak A doesn't flip out when he-- whoops, too late.

...Dang, HideAki sure got the short end of the stick in this issue of GDW, what with your destruction of Oblivion and my not-so-positive review of Opal's fakemon (I settled things with Nyu though, so that's all good).
I do wish the censors weren't so vicious, so that I might understand what you said there. It's all right though, I got the emotion you meant to convey~ (dismay)
lol. I just realized you joined this forum exactly two years after me.

    Weird, isn't it?
It would still be nice to have your article, but if it's too much trouble for you than don't worry about it, your life should come before the forum. Good luck with everything, however things turn out.
I don't know if you've gotten my PM yet, but I was wondering if you had finished writing that article yet?
Naw, Dante's Inferno is totally like, not true. I mean, when he came down there, he was such a timid little guy. I gave my hand to him, but he was liek, "MOMMY PLZ THAT FERRYMAN'S SO SCARY" so he ran off. He then prompted to make up the stuff about Hell. Everyone knows that Hell has 9 SQUARES, not circles!
