  • Ah, my mistake. I thought you just got tired of waiting for the long downloads on torrents. It's probably best to wait for the U.S. released one if you want to stop pirating. : P
I saw your post in the Top Ten Anime thread, and if you still haven't seen Summer Wars yet, I will provide you a couple of places where you can direct download them. You said you stopped torrenting, but I don't know if you hate direct downloading or not, so if you do, just disregard this message. : P

You can download the rmvb version here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WMIDXZ40

or the mkv version (I believe this is mkv since it's a pretty big file that you need to download in parts) here:

Well, I rather like the upgraded version of the game now too, not simply because D/P is "better" than R/S but because it gives me a chance to go over my now year-old designs, and sometimes revamping can be much more rewarding, as you really can see the amount of improvement over a year.

I wouldn't call the community "messed up" but they're certainly not paradigms of intelligence nor taste. (and if you think PC is bad, wait until you see Acanthite's fora: blind fools, the lot of them.) But, yeah, it's all in the screenshots, which is just a shame since it means that games like Nebula get all the attention which they arguably don't deserve.

...But I'm an optimist, and believe firmly that the good developers will triumph in the end, as was done with Raptor and what we hope to do with Uranium, and usher in a new era of game dev where people model after our success rather than after failed but glamorous projects, which is what's being done now.
Sorry to hear about it going under, but on the bright side it seems like you got more out of it than we did, what with where you ended up (E3! You lucky bastard. xD I suppose it's not as awesome as I imagine it to be, but still...)

Uranium's coming along nicely, although I haven't had much time to sprite this week due to life getting in the way. We upgraded to D/P-style graphics, which we should have done aaaages ago; it's really boosting our game's cred now, as the simian masses are less vocal in their criticism. (people are so shallow-- plot means nothing to them, but slap some shiny graphics on a game, and they're all over it.)
Thanks :] I guess when you believe in something whole-heartedly, it gives you a type of energy to push on. That's how I feel anyway.

I'm just glad that thread didn't become a flamefest. I was expecting someone to come in and flame me :|
So I see. It's coming along-- there's a new Uranium thread to accompany the graphical revamp-- and, uh. There haven't been any new demos released by any of the major games. I'm improving my spriting, I think. Just stuff.

How're you? And how's your game going?
'Sup? (and... dang, this means I'll have posted twice in a row on your profile, albeit months apart, which isn't very aesthetically pleasing)
Yeah, I saw your post. If you're unable to get it written on time, don't worry about it, I've had similar problems in the past.
Maybe for the next issue? I don't want to leave myself with no content for this one XD
I was hoping to have the issue posted sometime on Saturday, though it isn't set in stone.
Something involving cliches in the plots for projects posted on PC, and ways to avoid them, maybe?
It's been a while since we've talked, Kaiser. I was wondering, though, whether you'd be writing anything for the next GDW?
Hey Kaiser, do you know whether you'll be doing an article for the next GDW issue?
Don't worry about it, Kaiser. Your health is more important that GDW, I'm not going to make anyone sicker by forcing them to type up an article when they are ill.

And I'm glad that you like it. :D
Haha, when I first read that I thought that you were literally about to board the plane.

And you can write anything, maybe a review similar to the one written for the last issue, or maybe an article with tips on writing a game's plot?
The issue won't be posted for about a week-and-a-half to two weeks, so that should be fine.
