  • I actually played the original MegaMan games via Emulator, although my friend owns the Anniversary Collection. I really don't know, he just did. If I'm right, its 900 points, with ProtoMan Mode as an additional 200 and an extra level at 100 points among other things.

The history behind the X series is that Capcom wanted to make a new, darker MegaMan for the new system. A little known fact is that Zero was designed before MegaMan X and was originally meant to be the main character. However Capcom felt that they needed a character that looked more like the original MegaMan so that the series would be seen as a follow up to the originals. I think thats the reason that the MegaMan Zero series came out.

Did you know that X is the only MegaMan main character not to make a playable cameo in a fighting game?
MegaMan Classic - Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom 2 (also had classic Roll)
    MegaMan.exe - Onimusha Blade Warriors
Zero (MMZ) - Onimusha Blade Warriors, SVC Chaos: SNK vs Capcom
MegaMan Volnutt (Legends) - Tatsunoko vs Capcom (also had Classic Roll)
beat everything in ff9 as well. Yes i did have serious dedication towards dragon quest, thats why i continued so far. I always am dedicated with games i really really like. Same with ffx, i had absolutely EVERYTHING near the end
yeah i eventually did, took a long time though. But now i completed everything even post game and my characters are all around lvl 90
ff9 and 10 (absolutely AMAZING), kh2, dragon quest 8 (absolutely amazing), Chrono cross, Some of the shadow hearts games.
So did I, they just reused MegaMan's voice actor from MegaMan 8. I like all the games in the X series, except for 7 for some reason..but I didn't get much time to play it I guess. X5's time thing does suck though.
I've played every MegaMan Classic game, I even beat MM9 on my Wii before my brother lost it. I love Protoman Mode in it. My fav classic game is a three way tie between 2, 9, and MegaMan & Bass.
Yeah. I've never beaten the first Zero, but I have beaten all the X games on X Collection as well as X8. My favorite X series game is a toss up between X4 & X8. I wish that they would've just done what they wanted to for the MegaMan X Collection. They originally wanted to re-dub the voiced scenes but Inafune said that he wanted to wait until they made more Maverick Hunter X remakes..but they never did since it didn't sell well.
I've heard of it, but I didn't get really into MegaMan until the PlayStation era.
Yep, Zero's still pretty close range, although he can shoot his buster, throw his shield, and use a hookshot-like weapon, which I forgot to mention. The Zero Series is also alittle harder than the X Series.

I've played Legends as MegaMan 64 and Legends 2. They're fun, but very different from the normal MegaMan series. Its more like Zelda meets MegaMan.

Yeah, Command Mission takes place after the main X series, but it doesn't touch on any of the previous games' stories. I'm an RPG fan, so I loved it alot. I have the MegaMan X Collection for Gamecube and X8 for PS2, so I have all the X games except X7 and CM, my brother sold that one.
No, MegaMan Zero 1-4 has Zero as the main and takes place 100 years after the X series. He gets quite a few different weapons like the Z Saber, of course, the Z Buster, a Spear, Tonfas, a Bladed Boomerang Shield, and a weapon that steals weapons from enemies. MegaMan ZX takes place years after Zero has two mains, Vent (male) and Aile (female) and the two characters never cross pathes, making it possible that, although their are story differences, they exist in seperate realities. They're actually humans and they get armors, called BioMetals, to transform into different forms. The forms are Model X, based on X, Model ZX, based on Zero with his Z Saber and Z Buster, this replaces Model X afterwards, although you can keep Model X again if you play a new game after beating it once. Model FX, based on Fefnir from MMZ who used two very large arm cannons, LX, based on Leviathan from MMZ, who uses a spear and can swim in water, HX, based on Harpuia from MMZ, who uses dual sabers and can fly a little, then there is PX, based on Phantom from Zero, who uses kunai & shuriken and can hang from the cieling and walls. ZX Advent uses two new characters, Ashe, a female human, and Gray, a male reploid, their stories are more different than Aile and Vent's were. All of the previous models are replaced by Model A, based on Axl from MMX, who uses dual pistols. You can use Model A all during ZXA and while you never acquire the previous BioMetals, they can all be used, except Model X, by defeating the bosses who use them, since Model A also uses a different version of Axl's Copy Ability, like the one used in MMX Command Mission, thus allowing you to use copies of Models H, L, F, P, and ZX. All of the normal bosses are copied using this Copy Ability as well.

MegaMan X is fairly popular here, but not in Japan for some reason. For instance, Capcom said that they would cancel the ZX series if it didn't sell well in Japan. Not to mention that Keiji Inafune, the creator of MegaMan, wanted to end the X series at 5.

If you're curious, all the MegaMan Universes, except for Battle Network and Star Force, are connected. They're connected like this: MegaMan Classic - ?? yrs -> MegaMan X - 100 yrs -> MegaMan Zero - 100 yrs -> MegaMan ZX - ?? yrs -> MegaMan Legends
You can even see MegaMan Legends-esque enemies in MegaMan Zero, most share the same "eye" as the Reaverbots from Legends.
Existing in a seperate reality are these games: MegaMan Battle Network - ?? yrs -> MegaMan Star Force.

Sorry for the super long message. ^.^
Yeah, I meant that there weren't enough games in the MM Zero series, there were only 4. Its my fav, followed by ZX, followed by X. I'm hoping that X9 will come soon, but Capcom said it would cost too much without enough of a possibiliy of sales..I'd be fine if they just made it for PS2, PSP, DS, or even WiiWare/XBox Arcade.
Perhaps, and that would be interesting. I'm losing hope in ever getting an actual sequel, though, to be honest. The DS garbage seems to be commercially successful, though, so maybe there's still hope.

Never heard of Gensopedia. I use to post around Suikosource back in the day, still use it for info. I'm a Wikiholic, though, so I'll check it out.
Try looking up Suikoden fanfiction sometime; it's all SeedxCulgan slashfics. >_<

Where'd you hear that about Albert from? I don't recall him gaining a position in no Western continent. Suikosource FTW?
I don't remember anything being said of Hugo's father at all, although if he is from Highland then Riou matches that description. And I've never understood the fascination with Seed or Culgan. O_o

Albert becomes a strategist for Harmonia, actually. And yeah, Georg's voice actor plagues alot of other games and anime.
I always liked to assume that Hugo's father was Riou (SII protagonist), but that's just me. Cheesy, but fun.

Wakaba's a girl. D: And yeah, I liked the cast of Suikoden III overall the best, although Futch was at his best in Suikoden II. Leon and Albert were both great, I agree; I think Albert wins in my book, though, since he actually succeeded in getting what he wanted out of Luc and escaped completely unharmed.

I didn't really care much for Georg in Suikoden V either, he came off as decidedly less rude and vulgar... he was almost boring. Maybe it was the deadpan voice acting, I dunno.
Pesmerga actually wasn't suppose to be in the second game at all; apparently Lucia was suppose to be in his place but they replaced her with Pesmerga due to time constraints. Kind of proves how pointless he is as a character.

Luc's definitely my favorite, I have a soft spot for the arrogant young mage stereotype. I still rage over the ending of Suikoden III. Futch, Viki, Wakaba, Caesar and Fred are also very awesome.

It's more like the human girl has a thing for Sonic, which honestly makes it even more creepy than it already would be. >_<
Hikusaak's too big of a guy to talk about anytime before the last game, unless maybe it was a prequel all about him. Yuber definitely needs to make a come back, though. Ted was alright in SIV, but it felt like really bad fanservice more than anything; they could have brought in Windy and Neclord and his wife and actually built upon the character, but they didn't really go anywhere with it.

The 360/PS3 Sonic the Hedgehog is basically the worst game in the franchise, it felt like it was half finished. Assload of glitches, poor level design, bad camera, terrible voice acting and Silver is basically the worst character ever. Anthromorphic psychic hedgehog from the future? No thank you. >_<
Harmonia would be pretty interesting, but I'm hoping they save it for the final game in the series. Honestly, though, I think I wouldn't mind VI being the last; considering the past two games have done little-to-nothing for the canon, they might as well wrap things up before they meander around the timeline too much.

I have played Shadow the Hedgehog, and it's just as bad as you probably heard it was; very, very little about that game was good. Sonic Chronicles, despite it's flaws, was a charming and fun game.

Conway skin FTW. I'm a little surprised at how few skins I like out of the selection, though, considering how many there are...
My friend, the Dreamcast is always relevant. It is a timeless wondermachine that should be loved by all. D:

I'm really not interested in the Suikoden DS game no matter how good it is; call me shallow but the mere fact that it's in an alternate dimension sealed that games' fate for me and I want nothing to do with it. Makes no sense that they'd start fresh after 5+ games of building up a great timeline.

Sonic's had some problems in recent years, yeah, but his handheld games have been really good; the two Sonic Rush games for the DS were no less than fantastic and Sonic Chronicles was a pretty good RPG, IMO.

Any reason why the April Fools' Day skin is still up?
April Fool's Day is totally my least favorite holiday. Meh, maybe if I had been around earlier I would be able to appreciate the joke.

Yukiko's gigglefits never really did much for me... but she was better than Chie, definitely. FES is great, only played about half of P2 though. The translation of P1 was too bad for me to bother, but I'll probably pick up the PSP remake.

Aside from MegaTen, I play a pretty wide range of games. Always been a huge Sonic fan, and I buy anything and everything Bioware produces. Final Fantasy, as previously discussed, is awesome; I absolutely hated FFX, X-2, XI and XII though so hopefully XIII will turn out good. Suikoden, of course, although the DS abomination really turned me off. Jet Set Radio is probably the best game no one played. Most of my favorite RPGs seem to be on the SNES. :O
