Gengarite is still legal in VGC format, depends what you intend to play. Most people follow smogon, except when preparing for official VGC matches.

I don't like the 'limits team building' line. You could argue that entry hazards limit team building. You either need a rapid spinner, a defogger or to not use pokemon that are weak to rocks. I think Mega Kangha was worth smogon banning to ubers but still disagree with that line.

In my opinion, Genesect or Hydreigion would be better than Galvantula. Galvantula just doesn't pack enough power for mine. It also is less bulky than genesect and Hydregion. What does it bring that Genesect and Hydregion don't do better, a little coverage?
