Try Pokemon Game Editor in combination of Bulbapedia/Serebii to figure out which trainer is which (the editor lists them by name only). It's a good idea for you to keep close track of these changes too, just in case you need to go back and change something again.

I think you can use Hex Maniac to change the size, though I haven't tried it myself.
There's a box with information on the sprite, including the size, when you look at the overworld sprites. You can change the information in there and see if that lets you import a bigger sprite.
