Hm... I think I might know what went wrong. The Item Manager sometimes forgets to write a hex byte. I gave some instructions on how to put that byte in, but hex editing is a tricky task...

If you edited the "????????" that comes directly after "GREEN SHARD", then please follow these instructions. Otherwise, do not follow these instructions, and instead tell me which item you were modifying.

Open your ROM with a hex editor, and go to offset 3DB918. Scroll so I can see the byte at that offset and the data that comes after it. Take a screenshot. Send it to me. If you're having the problem that I think you're having, then that screenshot will help me give you further instructions.

Did you try your offset that XSE gave you, or did you try 800154? The offset is different for each hack; 800154 is the one for the hack I was using in the tutorial.

As for the map being glitched and all the water and stuff... That is a minor problem with JPAN's patch. You can fix it very easily. Open Pallet Town in AdvanceMap, and create three Warps. (The Warps on the doors were deleted by the patch, so you just need to create new ones.)

The removal of the scripts, on the other hand... That's a bit harder to "fix", in that it's not a bug. JPAN's patch deletes all scripts in a game, because it changes some of the XSE commands in ways that aren't compatible with older scripts. (It's also done to give scripters more room to work with, and to free up the flags and variables that Nintendo used up.) JPAN's engine isn't really something you apply in the middle of a hack, you see. (You can apply it mid-hack, but it's not recommended.)

That particular ROM's scripts are gone. I really hope that you've been keeping backups. If you haven't, then I am quite sorry for your loss. :(

Actually no xD. Got it all wrong as I worked with the wrong palette. :O BUT I am gonna do it again somehow. :\
PS How did you get the great backsprites

Hmm... try saving the pic without checking "export palettes", find the palette offset and try in APE. Make a COPY first!
