    Hello PokeCommunity!

You can call me Lark. I use they/them pronouns mostly, though he/him and any neopronouns are also acceptable.

I didn't grow up with the Pokemon games (or much of the show), but they've always been a background presence. I've played a few of the games, but didn't really fall in love until I played New Pokemon Snap, and then the Pokemon Ranger games. I am really a fan of anything that takes the naturalist approach to monsters, treating them as living beings with an ecology and niche in nature. My favorite types are definitely grass types.

My partner introduced me to these forums. (I have a fondness for old-web style forums, and have been/am still a member of several). I've been an avid roleplayer (LARP, tabletop, and in writing) since about 2014, and that's most likely what I'll focus on here. I'd love to meet and chat with other people, and engage in roleplay. I have a tumblr where I roleplay as an originalranger character, but here in PC, I would love to explore more storylines with different characters and settings- as a person, pokemon, or something else entirely.

Outside of Pokemon, I am a bookworm and very into fantasy and creative writing. I work in healthcare, though I will keep a lot of my IRL life to myself for privacy reasons.

    It's nice to meet everyone!

  • A lively hello from Lark!

Nice to meet you Lark, welcome to PC!

I agree with that whole naturalist approach, it's always cool seeing different Pokemon getting fleshed out as living creatures in their own ecosystems, it immediately makes me think of the different areas in the original Pokemon Snap, but I'm not too familiar with the new one.

I'm kinda similar, I love the feel of forums like this and wish they were still popular, that's something that really appealed to me about PC! While I'm not into the roleplay stuff myself, I'm sure you'll find at least something that appeals to you here! Is your partner also a member of the forums? It's cool to see people come here through recommendations from others!

Fantasy and creative writing are really cool, I feel like I've been meeting more and more people who are into that sort of thing, it's always really great seeing what people come up with and what stories they can share. It's just really great to create something you can call your own.

Make yourself at home, I hope to see you around!

    Thank you for the hello!
I am honestly not sure. They sent me a Discord link to the forum, knowing that I enjoyed forums and rp. I know they've been looking at forum threads for fan games and rom hacks, but I am not sure whether they've made an account or posted an intro thread.

Hello Lark, and welcome to the forums!
Grass types are neat indeed! My favourite is Serperior.
If you are an avid roleplayer, then the Theatre and Stage sections in Create and Discover are there for you! There are several RP here that you could join if you want to! I am personally roleplaying either as a jolly Gardevoir working for the press or, more recently, as a somber one who is a private detective!

I love books too, and fantasy is one of my favourite genres!
It is nice to meet you too!

  • Hey there! I hope you have a good time on the PC forums!

Grass has some great Pokemon in it! Namely Meowscarada, my favorite starter lol. I'm just starting to get into doing RP, and I think I noticed you posting in the RP thread that I'm also in, so it'll be cool working with you! I also do story work, but an mot one to write things down on paper lol. I look forward to seeing you around!

Oh, and do you have a favorite Pokemon?

Thanks for the greetings! I look forward to maybe seeing you both in roleplay spaces.

Oh, and do you have a favorite Pokemon?

If I absolutely had to pick, I'd have to say Rockruff. It's not a grass type, I know, but it's the most "me" Pokemon that I would either want to be or have as a partner.
After that, my favorites are the Chikorita line, the Skiddo line and Galvantula.

  • Hello!

Did you manage to complete the PhotoDex in New Snap?
Were there any memorable pictures you took or moments you witnessed while playing it? =3

I did not! There are definitely legendaries (and some poses for Pokemon I did find) that I didn't get.
As for favorite moments- opening the Spring variant of the seasonal forest was very cool, as I have a particular fondness for spring. I also really liked unlocking the cave path that leads to Jolteon. The DLC/expansion came out just as I was recovering from a surgery (everything is/was good). So it was kind of nice, while needing things to do at home, to suddenly have new levels including my favorite pokemon (Rockruff in the badlands) or just silly interactions (psyduck in the rapids).
