We do warm ups too, but since it's jazz, it gets very technical. For my left and right splits, I'm about an inch away from the floor. =D But my staddle is a different story...I go down as far as I can go, and then my instructor pushes on my shoulders to get me to go down a bit further than I can go on my own.
Really? Hmm, that's not good. But my instructor wouldn't force me to do anything if I was ever sick. :3
