East? You from asia too, then? And yeah, it is hard. It sucks big time at times. But what can I do? That's life, I suppose. :3
Haha, yeah, I guess you were.
Well, to be totally honest with you, I heard SO much about how DMC1 was the most balanced DMC game out there and how cool dante was in it. I couldn't wait. So, even though I couldn't really purchase a PS2 and a copy in order to enjoy the experience, I got myself an illegal copy and tried to run it on an emulator. Now I know pirating games is bad but I really couldn't stop myself. Dx Anyway, my point being - I could run the game and get a 'feel' of how the combat was. But since the game lagged terribly, I didn't even finish the first mission and stopped. So yeah, I actually do know how gameplay in DMC1 is and from what I've seen, it is pretty awesome. Yeah, I agree DMC3's combat is vastly superior to 1's, but the original game still holds its own as far as tight mechanics and swift gameplay goes. <3; So yeah, just waiting for the HD collection right now. It'll be out in April, as far as I know. As for what happened with your DMC3 disc...that's pretty unfortunate. You missed out on quite a lot of fun, bro. ;_;
Well yeah...Dante's redesign isn't the best, even sucked initially, but it has improved over time. Ninja Theory are doing a good job and from the looks of recent trailers, combat hasn't slowed down that much. Graphics are MUCH better than DMC4. NT are known for their storytelling abilities so I'm sure they'll cook up something good. Whatever, at the end of the day, I feel that you should def keep an eye on the new DmC. Who knows, they might even make it the best DMC game till date (although that's kinda hard since the MT Framework used in the previous games made gameplay smoother as the game always ran at 60fps locked while the current engine they're using - U3 - is gonna allow them to run the game at 30fps locked at max). Half the fps means gameplay won't probably as smooth but yeah, they're working on it.
Lol, be sure to talk to me about your AC2 experience when you're done with it, okay?
As for MGS2 - I guess you'd like to check this out.
It is basically a stealth game. Has pretty awesome graphics for its time (considering it was made in 2001, the graphics still hold up). Gameplay is solid. It involves sneaking around, shooting enemies with tranquilliser darts, dragging them around and hiding bodies, sometimes killing enemies, fighting bosses much larger and stronger than ourselves, reading through a TON of codec conversations, keeping up with a convoluted plot with wild plot twists that may make your brain explode and it has an awesome soundtrack. However, I've heard the fans consider Metal Gear Solid 3 as the best of the series. Gameplay is VASTLY superior to MGS2 and MGS1, or so I've heard. Graphics are pretty darn epic. I still find 'em awesome. :D
Anyway, MGS 2 is an awesome game if you like stealth games. You might still be able to blast through all your enemies and finish it but that's not really how its meant to be played. Doesn't really ruin the game but, you know, sneaking around undetected is fun. Also, yeah, I do recommend playing MGS1. The gameplay is a little old-ish considering its release (1999) and graphics are BAD but, you know, it isn't considered one of the best PS1 games of all time for no reason. I found it enjoyable. MGS2 is better though, in my opinion.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and if you HATE long cutscenes, you might wanna know that MGS games have looong cutscenes. lol Just to give an example, I've heard that MGS4 has cutscenes which last as long as 90 minutes. :P But yeah, MGS2 and 1 doesn't have cutscenes that long. ;P
