It's a good skill to have yet it shouldn't cost me 20,000 to learn it. It also explains so much about teachers/education once you're in it yourself. Seeing all these homework/school related threads (like the new homework one) do make me want to sigh against both side, but IMHO, new and old teachers alike who see the issues in education become far too jaded to try to change others' opinions and work quietly ourselves.
(and it's why I'm back in school in computer science now, cause I'm getting off the Educational Titanic before it crashes hardcore.)
