Accounting is boring, but I seem to understand a lot of it. Well, that is until I took intermediate accounting. Just kill me now.
Yeah, they're normally four year degrees in America. The accounting program encourages a student to take 5 classes a semester, though. Taking 4 a semester (considered a full-time student) would make it a five year degree then. Ouch!
However, I started college as a sophomore since I used high school exam grades to count as college transfer-in credits. I didn't have to take history, science, Spanish, etc in college then. I did have to take one English class and some math classes for accounting, though.
Soooo I'm attending 4 classes a semester, but I entered with a head start anyways, so I'll be finishing this one accounting degree in 4 years total. Best of both worlds, I guess?
