  • so,today i was free to play. if you are free to play lets have a battle? :D I need to catch up to Polar :X
Haha all our planning for this battle is kinda hyping it up now haha (Cyclone vs. sharkshocker = "Sharknado" LOL)

No worries, I'll lurk around the forums and see where that takes us. :)
Ah sorry I'm flying out tomorrow so I won't be able to go online :/ From Friday onwards it should be fine, just let me know what works for you :)
I am good, not matter what :) I just saw some flaws that needed to be fix'd. I however, be ready for tonight or friday. I am okay with both. Tomorrow, I need to check up on my sick girlfriend who went under eye surgery.
Ohh sorry I thought you had Krystia for yesterday @_@ I just had my battle with BlueBoi but I'll be around once you decide about your newest member :P
Mhm, every power item corresponds to an EV for both breeding, and EV training. You already know which is which since it's just the same EV it passes down it boosts in training. The nice thing is that it always gives you +4 of its EV, regardless of what EV the pokemon you kill is worth, its position in party, or how many pokemon are KO'd at once. So if you have Exp Share on and just have something hold a power item while your lead surfs on hordes, it gets the full maximum EVs for all those KO's.
You don't need to see it, since you'll always get the exact same. I'm too tired to explain in detail tonight; but I thought i put all the math in the last message : ,

Pokerus does double EV's, which after the base 2 from weepinbell, and the base 4 per weepinbell from the power item, you have 6 EV's per weepinbell times 5 weepinbell, coming to 30 - doubled by pokerus to make it 60 per spread move.

I must sleep now though; goodnight :p
I would love to help someone find a non-smogon way to play pokemon ;-; :'D

That's like, seriously almost every day of my life something I want to do hahaha. But tomorrow, or another day... I just finished 2 gym leader matches, and am tired... especially with work in a few hours.

I was iffy on the horde battles at first too, until I figured out how to really milk it. You said unless they drop 3 per pokemon you don't see it... right? The highest level Super Training gives you what, 12 or 18? How about if every single horde battle, 1 surf or earthquake, gave you 60 EV's? :)

Quick math. Weepinbell hordes on the route to the right of the Ice Gym Leader's city are super common. Weepinbell gives 2 atk EV's, and 5 weepinbell per horde. So on a base level, 2 x 5 = 10 EV's. But, if you give your pokemon a power bracer, that's +4 Atk EV's per Weepinbell. So that becomes (2+4) x 5 = 30. Now, assume you have Pokerus on it, like any diligent breeder/trainer. [(2+4) x 5] x 2 = 60 And just like that, you use surf 4 times, and have 240 EV's in one stat.

HP is Gulpin on route 5, Atk is Weepinbell on route 19, Def is either Nosepass on route 10, or Durant / Graveller on Route 18, Sp Atk is Vanillite in the Frost Cavern, Sp Def is Hoppip, on Route 7 (Daycare Route) Speed is Wingull on Route 8. All you need is a sweet scenter, a Pokerus spreader, a level 100 with surf, and the power items. Bam. EV Training in 10 seconds flat. (that's a pony line.)
It's definitely more unique :o but imo, the best thing to do is to just look at the bulbapedia or any other site that has full disclosure of all their moves, stats, weaknesses + resistances, abilities, and so on. Build each pokemon to your playstyle, to fit with your other pokemon. I wouldn't never (great english right there, double negative lol) use any move or stat investment smogon ever suggests, because they usually suggest some things that make sense. But you just have to keep in mind, everything they say about pokemon pertains to their specific idea of how everything should be, and how they play the game their way. Never any other battle types, never with regards to things outside their narrow tiers, only in the circumstances that are allowed in their dictation. So yeah, Foul play makes great sense on mandibuzz; but do they mention that other set? Nah. Does that mean it couldn't work? Hell no, if you give it the right situation, that special mandibuzz could definitely work.

Tldr; gain your own experience and try and use what works best for you.
Oh yeah I forgot you clone stuff :v And um, ew. I just checked that link. Smogon? :x Smogon is... Well, you'll never see me use one of their sets ever. Never ever. Never never. Never ever ever. If you want to, that's fine - they are widely accepted as the ruling authority on singles metagame - but be prepared for everyone you face to know your pokemon's entire build and strategy before you even select its first move. Also be prepared for minimal variety, and repeats of the same build for many different pokemon. You'll also miss out on the experience and benefit of having your own knowledge if you copy paste their sets, as you won't have the independent skill to create your own sets, and original strategies without prior instruction.

You won't see that rocky helmet set anywhere on Smogon. They're not very creative, seldomly straying from 1-3 roles for any pokemon, and if Item clause is ever enforced, 90% of their sets become illegal with one another; as they suggest leftovers, focus sash, life orb, or a choice item on 99% of all pokemon.

lol okay, /end rant. But really, if you work to gain your own experience and knowledge - you'll develop a lot more as a player, rather than just doing what smogon does, and trying to play their way.

I don't know how you play this much and don't have EV'ing and levelling down to a science yet... Most people bust out EV's in 15 - 20 minutes with appropriate horde battles and power items, and level with 1 runthrough of Le Wow in about 15-20 as well.

And on that spread - it's not bad, Mandibuzz has the highest HP of all Dark types, and that's definitely its most impressive stat. Splitting the defenses gives more of a coverall, but less specialization. I, made 3 with different investments lol. If you're only doing 1, that may be the best spread for you.
I expected some inactivity; not like everyone there every day - but I HAD expected some people to make an appearance at least once since the league had started : ,

Dialga812; I don't think has even been on the forum since his post asking to join. If you see the discussion thread, there's a proposal up on how to deal with inactivity.
Hey, at least you're actually responding to challengers :) More than can be said for most leaders unfortunately. :I As long as you don't keep them waiting too long and work to accommodate their schedule you're fine.

We're probably gonna have to do something about non-present leaders though. Makes for a very bad start to just have challengers sit there.
