Hahah - yes, Tyranitar was faster after the dragon dance - which it needed to be for Metal Burst to work. It would fail if Bisharp were faster. It counts on your pokemon being quicker, so I have a brave Bisharp. And it does only apply to a OHKO, which is why I used Iron Head instead - because I didn't think you had Earthquake; and risked hitting you with Iron Head over your having Earthquake. It payed offffff.

Heh well it actually wouldn't have, and you would've REALLY messed up - because my Bisharp is focus sashed with Metal Burst. But remember - you were at +1 Atk at that point, and +/-0 Speed because of sticky web and dragon dance.

Sylveon is pretty beastly indeed, and it carries a hefty moonblast. I will tell you though, of my 3 mandibuzzes- the vulture is the one specifically designed to deal with sylveon a lol. It's careful, and maxed in sp def and hp- torment keeps Sylveon from repeating moonblast - and draining kiss, even though it's a special attack - will activate rocky helmet. And Sylveon can't maintain the offensive and take repeated brave birds. :1

Sylveon is a nice threat though, as without roosting and tornent, even a max sp def mandibuzz can't take repeated moonblasts.

If you're REALLY looking for something to harass a mandibuzz, Tyranitar actually comes to mind. Stone edge doesn't make contact too.

Yeah, I can't really see steel wing being of much use - unless you went for a heavily offensively based one for fairy coverage. Which is an interesting idea, buuuut mandibuzz really is a lot more readily built for bulk.

Murkrow, Honchkrow, Yveltal, and Mandibuzz can play that game. If you want the bulk, none of those even come close to mandbibuzz. Yveltal's off limits, but Honchkrow is by far the most powerful offensive of the legal 3.

I agree with what Sheep messaged, you should try and get active in TWL again especially when you realize how friendly Dragon really is. He's doing quite a great job and that's why I've always got a heart for the board. Sheep in fact inspired me to get active there, although my activity faded lately due to my computer not being with me at the moment for what is now three weeks.

I do hope my activity can get back on track soon though.

I was the moderator there from August 2012 to January 2014! :( But I also worked with two others during that time too. You shouldn't worry though, while I loved the past mods I worked with Dragon is also very sweet. He moderates the board right now and you should definitely get to know him if you're worried :3

It actually doesn't have anything to do with Rocky Helmet, it's just Mandibuzz's typing and Roost. When a flying type pokemon uses Roost, it loses its flying typing for the remainder of that turn. Since Mandibuzz is Dark / Flying, but used Roost before Mawile's attack each turn, you weren't attacking a Dark / Flying type, you were attackinga pure Dark type with Ice Fang and Thunder Fang. Dark / Flying is interesting that way, in that previoius to gen 6, it could change all its weaknesses each turn from only rock, electric, and ice - to only fighting and bug. Now with the introduction of fairy, it just has a constant fairy weakness regardless of roost or not. Hence; tormenting mawile so it couldn't spam play rough.

And alright, I'll just put it down as "Dark Fairy Badge" for now.

Haha, no - only 1 rocky helmet on the team actually, just The Vulture. My ferrothorn is the other one you're thinking of, Bisharp also threw himself at those spikes last time we played.

If you want to check IV's, go to Lumiose North, enter the battle institute, singles battle, with Skorupi and 2 random pokemon. This sets Skorupi to level 50 automatically, and you can use this - http://www.psypokes.com/dex/iv.php to check its IV's by simply plugging in stats and Nature at level 50. Very accurate and foolproof.

For name inspiration, I usually just pull stuff out of my head - combining the most foreword aspects of the two; fairy and dark being light and magic and dark and evil. Maybe the Turmoil badge? Shade badge? Mystic badge? Enchanted badge? Black Widow badge? Deadly Beauty badge? Deception badge? Sinister badge? Night Faerie? Witchcraft badge? And if you're ready now, I'll send you a challenge as soon as you're online. If I remember you play singles.
