  • I'm surprised someone has heard of the IB program because it seems to be rather unknown. Hi fellow survivor! :O

It was quite challenging, but it broadened my perspective of the world. It forced me to think, to analyze, to synthesize, to consider multiple angles, to think about what I've thought, and then produce thousand word essays (which resulted to me drinking caffeine every night and averaging 4 hours of sleep but :D)... I had a love-hate relationship with theory of knowledge class and the extended essay part. I hated doing any of the oral essays because I'm too shy to do a presentation. IB Psychology was impossible, but I worked for it. I had to memorize all of the facts and write a 7 page essay in 60 minutes. IB Biology was alright. I only remember having to lecture a class on a lesson for 90 minutes and doing some fun science projects and also memorize a lot of facts. I can't really remember IB History or IB Math or IB Spanish (AP Spanish was my greater nemesis). IB English made me cry a lot of nights because of the whole "this interpretation of the poem/story sucks and you get a bad grade" hey I'm just imaginative... :D

I'm grateful for it shaping me into who I am, but the homework load averaging 3+ hours a night took a toll on me. It got me a free ride through college as I received several scholarships for it. Doing IB pretty much automatically got me Florida Bright Futures maximum scholarship.
