  • I'll look up the lyrics , but i was talking about the music itself lol , noit about the lyrics .
Thankfully I'm not reviewing that one xD...

    What's the Web site for?

You actually LIKED Ring? It was...nothing new whatsoever. And I anticipate a Team Green...just you wait. It's coming on the horizon.
No I agree with you. Im glad you made the right decision though - I dont want it up there just as much as Waudby, but Im respecting that decision - I sound just as stupid but hey, thats what I did and I'm not gonna hide or deny it.
Don't you think removing the part about Oddysey in the newsletter is really biased? You tell me you're gonna put it up wether I like it or not, but when Waudby complains it gets removed? You didn't even put anything offensive to either side - only the truth.

It feels like on these forums there's this whole thing where you're not allowed to talk about certain things - which seems really wrong. Everyone should be able to speak freely - and I thought the newsletter really helped out with this.
A journalist's job is to report the news, he doesn't make them, if you get any abuse, then its just one of those "don't shoot the messenger" issues.
Popularity? As in you want popularity? Or with the newsletter?

You can't force people to change their opinion. You need to get people thinking. Bring up issues you see in Game Development in your newsletter and try to cause a discussion. Get other people to contribute to the newsletter with articles. If you're doing the whole thing yourself people might not take it seriously because it'll be only one persons opinion. Make sure you get people that are well-known, experienced and reliable.

People here are really picky about grammar and spelling. Its really quite annoying seeing posts that just correct your spelling/grammar and aren't constructive. Though I didn't really care it can wear you down. Get someone to check your newsletter before you post it. Preferably someone you're in close contact with daily (via MSN etc.).

Don't force yourself to write issues/articles/reviews. You'll just get sick of it and want to quit. Make sure you don't leave everything till the last day. Schedule times in a week to work on it. Don't try to do the whole thing all at once. Just do one thing at a time.

Thats all I can think of right now. I'll read the newsletter tomorrow and comment.
Saying what you want on the net....It's a double edged sword.
You should be able to look at the content you want and say what you want without feeling guilt or regret, but the rules of society still apply I guess.
You shouldn't insult anybody online, but shouldn't be afraid to post your thoughts on a message board (but then again- I guess that's why you can write blogs online- you can say what you think).
Just thinking about it now, I find it very hard to describe my feelings toward "free speech" on the internet ha.

    About removing the articles,
See, in one way of looking at you, you did the right thing. You removed anything that would seem offensive of disrespectful of Kyledove, Waudby and Moose- in turn, not making them feel hated. Which is of course, a great thing to do.

On the other hand, you shouldn't feel guilty about what you had wrote already and need to edit. The edit button should only be used if you want to add to your post, don't regret anything you have already clicked "Post" on. What you posted were your thoughts at the time.

I think those articles really added to your Issue. Rather then just reading a post of a review on a game, it felt like you were talking about the Game development community, and - well- it was like a proper news cast- keeping readers up to date with what is going on around them.

The game development section- while very competitive- has a small group or community feel to it. We kind of known each other in the sense of how we each act online and present themselves. I think your thread(s) will be popular if you talk about subjects that have popped up on our section because we can all have our say on it (provided the Mods don't close the thread lol). We can each post a view rather then "worry" about how many star rating our game thread has, ya know?
