So, if you had to have either an Eye patch, a Peg leg, or a hook hand, in your normal life. Which would it be?

What if you were actually a pirate?

    Me:
In my Modern times, I'd probably go with the eye patch... If I were actually a pirate, I'd go with a hook hand though, as I think it's the least vital in combat.

Well I definitely want to keep my depth perception and ability to run. I wouldn't mind having a hook as a hand though. I don't touch people a lot anyways.

I'd have a peg leg; I don't do much with my legs.

I'll go with the eye patch. I need legs. And...I need hands. I can go without one eye. I'm sure boys and girls of all ages will find my eye patch attractive.

Eye patch, rather have a missing eye than a missing limb :P
    [/Plus it'll look beastly]

I couldn't hope to be as great as a pirate, but I suppose if I were to try, the world would be a much better place, as an increase in the number of pirates would most certainly decrease the global temperature.

If I had to have one, I would have a peg leg. I don't move around my feet in great levels of flexibility, so as long as I can move them around a bit, I can take it.
But I need my hands and eyes to a seriously great extent, though I need my leg too. But I can't do with the other two.

This is my favourite poll in such a long time. Kudos!

If I could choose the hand (and asked for it on my left hand), then definitely a hook. My eyesight is horrible enough as it is, so to lose one eye would result in an ungodly monocle combination which I can only imagine being horrible to look at and too uncomfortable to wear. I also like my legs, and wouldn't want one of them turning into wood. With the hook, yes you'd lose a hand, but you'd gain a PERMANENT CAN OPENER! ZOMG! Any time you want tinned food, you can just grab it off the shelf, rip it open with your hook and eat straight away. Bliss!

If I couldn't choose the hand - and they put it on my right one - then probably the peg leg...

Eyepatch in both cases. +∞ badass.

IRL, it'd just be generally inconvenient to be missing limbs.
As a pirate I'd need both arms for wielding my hypothetical naginata (yeah, who's to say I can't be a Wakō pirate?); and if we're talking modern piracy, an AK-47/M is surely a two-handed affair, apparently the cocking handle takes a strong pull. Having both legs is great for boarding and coastal attacks, of course, and swimming.

    I would choose the peg leg, but only if it's my left leg. XD; This sounds crazy and oddly specific, but it's because I play piano. Without hands I can't play (obviously), and I use my right leg for the sustain pedals (I never use the other two pedals so... the other foot's not necessary haha). I guess I could live with the eyepatch as well, but it would make reading sheet music and playing a bit more difficult. Plus, I like my eyes. >;

I'd like to be a rubberman please.
Argh, maybe an eye patch? I'd like to keep my legs and hands please. :x

I think... maybe a peg leg. Honestly, the eye patch seems the most harmless but I'm going to assume it's a patch because the eye is missing and that squicks me out so bad so I could never pick that one. I wouldn't be able to deal with missing a hand so that just leaves the leg.

As for being a pirate myself, I think aside from being an internet pirate, I'd be a very bad one. xD; I'm lazy.

Without two hands it would be hard to swing on a rope while boarding another ship. Even if I could swing with one hand I'd want a sword in the other so I could swashbuckle someone as I'm boarding their ship. The hook is out.

Without both my legs I'd have trouble keep balance on the pirate ship in anything but really calm water. It would make any landings from rope-swingings rather difficult. It might also make swimming away from sharks harder. On the plus side, I could hide things in a peg leg.

Eye patches would kill my depth perception so I couldn't fire my pirate pistol straight, but if I really were a pirate I'd probably be a little drunk all the time so it's not like it would make much of a difference. Actually, if that's the case then loosing a hand or leg would probably make me so incompetent that I might as well make myself walk the plank. Eye patch seems like the best choice.

Probably an eyepatch in both cases. It'd suck to lose my depth perception but it'd still be better than losing a limb. I think dealing with a lost eye would be easiest.

Not gonna lie, though: if I were a pirate, I think having a hook for a hand would be pretty sweet, if completely impractical.

I was goign to go eye patch but like Lightning said that wold just be... Urghhh. Having a random hole in my face is not appealing, what if I have to always clean it to stop infection? It would be all mushy and yuck...

Maybe a... peg leg. :( They are all such bad options. I just want the hat thanks >.>

Um, I would kill the presumable person who would give this deformity to me before it actually occured, so non of them. Z_Z
I would be a great pirate... an internet pirate. :p

I'd go with the peg leg, as I don't walk around much and my legs have issues of their own that hinder my walking anyway...

Yarr, I be needin' good depth perception to wage war on the open seas, matey!
