This looks really impressive I might try to inject it into my VC and try it out.
We'll re-examine whether to add Fairy type or not once the hack is closer to completion. For now, our main focus is on the story.I personally want fairy type in the game since it my favorite type but I can understabd why you won't put that Pokemon type in.
Enjoy! This looks really impressive I might try to inject it into my VC and try it out.
I must admit the hack you've described sounds like it could be a lot of fun! I'll have to give that beta a play soon.
This looks very interesting, will give it a playthrough and reply back soon. Cheers!
Update: The Gen 4 Physical/Special Split has been added!
Patch is in the downloads section. I also updated important trainers' movesets (e.g. rivals, gym leaders, etc) to reflect the mechanics change. This will be an optional patch for now, but if nobody else speaks up in support of the Gen 3 mechanics, we'll probably add it to the official game with the next beta. (Come on, guys... Sceptile fans? Anyone? ...I will admit, though, giving Gyarados physical STAB was very gratifying.)

Thanks! I hope you both enjoy it! Please let us know what you think!
Spoiler:I'll go ahead and say this; I picked Kakuna as my Starter to give the game a bit of a challenge, and I noticed a lot of fun little things right away - First off, Taylor (Blue/Gary) my rival choose Aerodactyl and destroyed me in that first battle and I laughed so hard about it. I proceeded to play the game as per normal, right up to going to Viridian the second time and talking to (iirc) Stark and grabbing the eevee of off him, that was a really nice idea. I went to the shop because I thought it seemed odd that Professor Oak only gave two pokeballs, but then I realized that they were 2000 a piece and I kind of had a "Oh boy" moment where I wondered what was going through your guy's heads when doing that; but as soon as I went to catch a Pokemon, I realized they don't disappear unless you /successfully/ catch a Pokemon; and I was honestly very happy about that, and have been unable to get the thought out of my head about a pile of used Pokeballs everywhere that trainers try to catch Pokemon :P
Currently my Team Consist of a Beedrill, Eevee, Spearow, and Pikachu all at Level 14. I beat Taylor (Gary/Blue) and have beaten Brock through the sheer luck that was Poison Sting hax and Sand Attack, Tail Whip, and Growl hax.
Certainly liking how this is shaping out so far! Keep it up! :)
Spoiler:Vaveman can you help me, I beat selph co rocket event after that the mysteries trainer took Vanessa and I went to the father house but he not there and I already beat Sabrina. I have no clue were to go, I must save my wifu! haha just kidding but were do I go after that I and already beat the tournament in Caledon city.
Thank you!Lol! Talk to the youngster right outside Silph who freaked out when you stepped outside.
Doesn't install for me :/
Thanks for helping clarify!Spoiler:It's not an installation file; the way .IPS files work is like so; you'd need to obtain three things, the .IPS file in question (For this game it'd be linked on the OP.) -- next you'll need to /legally/ obtain a .ROM file of Pokemon Firered, and finally you'll need the program Lunar IPS. After obtaining these three things, you'll open Lunar IPS and click on 'Apply Patch' and choose the .IPS File for Pokemon Stunning Steel; and then a second window will open after you've chosen Stunning Steel and it'll ask for the ROM to apply it too; you'll choose the Pokemon Firered Rom (Make sure you've extracted the ROM from the .RAR or .ZIP) and it'll apply the Pokemon Stunning Steel IPS to the Pokemon Firered Rom and you'll be set.
If any of that confused you; there are plenty of amazing and way more detailed guides than this little mock-up I've written.
I updated the tutorial on applying patch files. It's at the very bottom of the original post. If you are still having trouble hopefully that will help. Thanks for playing! And welcome to PC! I feel honored that your first post was on this thread :)Doesn't install for me :/
Minor Update: Beta v1.3.1 released
This is a very minor update, but it will help with some of the difficulties people are having in figuring out how to advance the plot. For those of you already playing v1.3, just switch over to v1.3.1 (save files transfer fine), and check below to see if you have missed a plot point.
Here's the extremely brief list of changes:
Spoiler:
Normally wouldn't post a new beta with so few changes, but the 2nd and 3rd changes affect important clues that help you figure out some of the dynamics between the main characters.
- Made it easier to realize that Silph Co. occurs before Fuchsia Gym
- Made it easier to figure out where to go after Silph Co.
- Fixed a bug that made it possible to miss important dialogue with Gary/Blue. Check below to see if this applies to you.
If ALL of the following are true, you have missed a plot point (my fault, sorry!):
Iff this describes you, you have missed some important dialogue with Gary right after your battle in Lavender Town. If you don't have a save state from before the Lavender battle, here is dialogue you missed.***Spoiler Alert***
- You have already fought your rival in Lavender Town
- Your character is a boy
- You WON against your rival on the S.S. Anne
Spoiler:[Rival]: I hate to say it, [Player],
but I'm still way ahead of you!
I've got a girlfriend, and you
don't!
...Huh? I didn't tell you?
We met at the party on the
S.S. ANNE and totally hit it off.
She's crazy hot and her mom is
a POKéMON PROFESSOR.
She's perfect for an up-and-coming
CHAMPION like me!
You should find yourself a
girlfriend, too, or you'll be
even farther behind!
...Well, okay. I haven't officially
made her my girlfriend yet.
I'm just waiting for the right
time.
Anyways, I gotta roll!
I've got a lot to accomplish!
Later, bro!
Cheers! We appreciate you all playing and letting us know the problems you are having!
Made some graphics for you. Steelix is one of my favorite pokemon.
So did missing that dialogue mean i cant advance that plot because i cant figure out how to get in silph co the guard just keeps saying something about not letting suspicious kids in
