Hey, count me in, of course~

Who was the first one you battled against?
Now anyone who knows me or of me will know that of course I battled Dent. In fact, that was the tiebreaker decision for me in choosing a starter. I was debating between Miju and 'Tarja for a long time.

Yay~ a member! =D I'm happy with just a couple. Exclusivity is nice.

I battled against Dent first as well. Most people I know did! I played the game before I watched the anime. I fell in love with all of them! I always pick Water starters on a first playthrough, because a) the convenience of having a party member that can Surf and b) because I tend to prefer their design the most.

I'm very grateful for the artisitic direction, btw. In fact, I will appoint you a special position in the club! =D

Definitely. I like Water starters, but not really Water Pokemon, if that makes sense. I generally only play through once. Yellow was awesome 'cos you could get every starter. Empoleon was gold!

I wish I could offer a good answer, but I don't know you very well. >_< Crucify me if you must, but every time you use "~" after a word, it reminds me of how (Japanese) Dent adds flair and extensions to his speech. The extensions being on vowels, mostly. So err... that's the resemblance I see? =S

That's an excellent topic! I shall add it to the list~ I find myself the most similar to Chili- I'm impulsive and loud. Also, seeing as I imagine Chili to be stubborn, dedicated and obnoxious... maybe I'm in a degree of transference...

I'm a fan of a lot of water Pokemon- Gyarados, Azumarill, Milotic, the water starter lines, etc.
Empoleon! One of the few Sinnoh native I came to like~

Doesn't sound like you were a big fan of the Sinnoh Pokemon. I kinda felt that way about Hoenn. Mudkip, despite its meme status, is my least favourite Water starter, though I respected his eventual nullification of Electric moves.

I loved Hoenn~ Though I despise that meme...
Sinnoh felt too... I dunno. Wrong. The Pokemon seemed like bath toys.

LOL @ the bath toy analogy! I used to be amused by the Mudkip meme, but it got old pretty quickly. It got replaced by "Smugleaf." I loved all the tertiary evolutions in Sinnoh. I'm sure my love of Dusknoir isn't introducing any bias whatsoever.

The Mudkip meme's origins were just... ":/", I suppose. And like I said on tumblr, it originated in 2005 and is still regularly referenced today. Good god, it should've been done within two years.
I don't like many tertiaries of Sinnoh. /slight nostalgia bias

I chose Snivy, so Chili was the one I battled. It was dead easy; in fact, most of the gyms and the Elite 4 posed no problems at all.

I can imagine a game where one member of the trio is a playable character. You get to do gym battles and stuff and kick every little kid's butt with an uber monkey who comes along your gym thinking they can become Pokemon Masters. >D And when one is confident enough, they can leave the gym and go on a regular adventure. *sigh* I'm sure Nintendo can't think of anything more than that. ','

Welcome! It seems that Dent is the first one people have battled against the most. I like to think it's because of Dent's general fabulousness, but maybe, maybe, Oshawott is having some kind of effect.

I pretty much ground my Lillipup. I wasn't pleased with Pansear at the time, though I can't remember why...

Well, I picked Oshawott in my japanese version of white so obviously I would have been put up against Dent, honestly this wasn't what made me love them so much though - as I first saw the trio in a preview for the Best Wishes anime. :3
