The Ultimate Monotype Challenge

♦ Team: Have not started yet, but hope to use a Ghastly I bred and hatched in White. Edit: NvM, I'll just use whatever ghost I first come across... Or Hack in a Yamask... Stupid lack of ghost Pokemon in this game...

Accomplished a decent bit since my first update.
-Got to dewford, trained a little.
-Beat the Dewford gym.
-Delivered the letter. Did not feel like finding a pokemon that could learn flash, so i just walked through the darkness.
-Got to slateport, defeated Team Aqua, delivered the goods.
-Continued on my way to Mauville, fighting trainers and doing the Trick House in the process.
-Fought everyone around mauville, defeated the third gym without breaking a sweat.
-Traveled through the firey path, got to that city( cant remember name) and did the whole scene in the cave with team aqua and the scientist.
-Traveled to the mountain, where i defeated team aqua. Acquired meteorite.
-Trained
-Am now working on the 4th gym, with my grass types and my lombre that doesnt know any water moves.

I finished up my Ground mono on Black, and of course like usual, I'll put my teams after each gym. :P


I might do another monotype soon, but I don't know yet.

i finally found my pokemon pearl version so ill carry on my water montype (i dont like using the ds emulator for pokemon games cos i think its slower) and i have black now aswell so ill do that after :)

i Absolutely HATE HIM
His pokemon Magically Grew about 4 levels from The Base to the distortion world
and somewhere along the way he magically found a Gyarados
FFFFFFFF

Ok so after being beaten for the umpteenth time i decided to grind a bit
EVEN THEN IT WAS HARD mainly that F***ing Honchkrow Stupid Flying/Dark
Did i mention i forgot my alakazam? (damn Bibarel HM slave)

Houndoom died to 2x EQs from Bronzong (for once im thankful i got Heatproof instead of levitate)
Honchkrow (after Many Many potions) died to about 8 Flash cannon's from Bronzong (damn Full Restore)
Gyarados was pretty easy i just slammed him with 2x Psybeam from Espeon and Strength from Medicham
Weavile had an unfortunate encounter with My Medicham's Foot
and finally Crobat was Annihilated by Bronzong

after about 6 ultra balls i gave up on giratina and just killed him

I was inspired by the power of my Garbador to do a MonoType Poison Challenge. (for Black, most likely) I have a few Questions though.

Can I trade in a team of six eggs? Can I trade them to another game to use TMs? (I have 2 gameboys.)

I want Seviper to be my "starter", but he has some movepool problems that aren't fixed until BW2. A lot of my picks are from older games, and their movepools are a little lame.

Here is a list of the pokemon and TMs I want to use.



I would trade over six eggs, then hatch them at certain points in the game. Like Start with 2 pokemon, then add one after the third gym, adding more as I go along.

Does this still in the spirit of the MonoType Challenge yall are doing here?

The rules say you can only trade one egg in the beginning if you can't get your first pokemon early enough. For poison, the first one available is Venipede, after you get the second badge. IMO, you should be fine with trading an egg in, but generally, the pokemon you use must be one you can find in the game, and only one. The idea is to use the Pokemon in the game as your team, so as to make it a challenge.

There was a team change while I was playing!
-got treeko named privet, lot ad named reed and shroomish named mush
- mush actually soloed Roxanne with no training between the woods and the gym.
- did stuff with team aqua, beat brawly and delivered a letter, privet & reed evolved
- went to slateport, dealt with team aqua again, caught oddish called Beetroot
- did lots of grinding for may, and Watson, evolved mush, so Watson was easy
- got to fallarbour, Beetroot evolved, taught privet dig and used that to beat Flannery after beating up team aqua... Again
- did more grinding for Norman, love the speed up button on emulators, caught cacnea called cacti
- finished grinding and beat Norman
- caught Tropius named banana
- saved at the weather institute.

Second time I've had to type this today... My social life took a hard hit this weekend when I got so into my challenge that I rarely left my bedroom and as a result, have now finished the challenge! I spent a couple of hours today grinding with the blessing of the speed up button and by the time I began to fight the elite four, everyone on the team was lv 58 (because the thought of fighting Steven with grass types scared me) but in the end, it was actually extremely easy, and I felt that Steven had let me down! I started with Ludicolo, he used rain dance and surf to knock out each member of his team with ease and an ice beam to put down the cradily. Overall an extremely easy, bad match up champion for me. ;)

So, I'm about half way through playing the games with multi-type Pokemon (Not part of this challenge, just what I felt like doing), so I might be able to start a Water Monotype soon. Also, I'm wondering whether I should do Fire again for B2/W2.

So now I wanna do an ultimate challenge with poison types, the games I'm gonna play are:
Leaf green, Soul silver, Emerald, Platinum and White :)
Already started leaf green, have two gym badges, ivysaur named Bob, Beedrill named Jerry and Golbat named James ;)

so Cyrus was a PAIN IN THE ***
and Cynthia was Just balls hard

but yeah Cyrus was Very hard Mainly that HONCHKROW but it eventually died to bronzong

Weavile was Cake for medicham
Gyarados had an encounter with +2 Psychic
Houndoom was Bronzong bait
and finally crobat just died

Volkner was a clean Gard Sweep

Aaron was Tough but my Psychics pulled through
Bertha was less so but still a force to be reckoned with
Flint was Fairly easy
and Lucian's First poke was easy set up bait so +6 SpATK later and Gardevoir OHKOd Everything

Cynthia killed me about oh i dont know SIX TIMES but after some (read: a LOT) of grinding she was Easy enough

mainly that Garchomp (the one time i regtet getting Heatproof Bronzong) but Eventually it died to Said Bronzong along with spiritomb
then +4 Later and Gardevoir swept the rest

Platinum Done i MIGHT do Black/White some time if i feel like it i want to get/complete B/W2 first though
