  • The whole Punk fiasco makes my head hurt. I do like that he didn't. He essentially flipped WWE managment off by leaving like he did. Thing is, it's not going to cause discord forever;in time, WWE will get by fine without him. Getting to that point seems difficult, but it'll happen. By then, the only ones left suffering are the fans. I do agree with the whole part timers bit, though. Mania has essentially gone from the showcase of the immortals to the showcase of people who were relevant years ago.

  • I'm just disappointed about this whole situation in general. I mean, based on how TV has been since, Punk leaving isn't seeming to really affect programming. Who knows how things'll turn out with negotiations... But in the meantime and in between time, the wheel's gonna keep on turning, with or without him. Daniel Bryan is now placed (back?) in the Authority story, and Kane (Punk's last feud) is focused on that. So, the only people Punk leaving will really affect, are the fans.

Obviously, there are a lot of theories/rumours on why he left. Not liking part-timers being brought in, didn't like the stories he was in, tired/hurting, not getting the WrestleMania main event... Well, if he felt too worn out and he was getting too little for what he was giving, I understand. The fans are chanting "C-M-PUNK!" and "WE-WANT-PUNK!" because they obviously want CM Punk there... But if CM Punk doesn't want CM Punk there, because wrestling/the schedule is taking a toll on him, then we shouldn't really want that... He does deserve a break, absolutely.

... But, if he left because he feels that what he's done in the past year should warrant him the WrestleMania 30 main event, and he won't settle for anything less, then I'm not sure how I feel. Of course, creative has control over what he does across the year, and his year since WM29 (for the most part) wasn't bad. He's had good stories (Undertaker, Brock, Shield) and some not-so-good stories (Rybaxel). But I'm not sure if being a workhorse alone warrants him a WrestleMania main event, like he (allegedly) feels it does. It's not like a feud with Triple H (his rumoured WM30 match) is terrible, either. I just don't think it's fair to the fans that (if this really is the reason he left) he leaves because he feels he should be greatly awarded for his... Well, IMO, not-as-great year.

    My head hurts.

  • Punk is one of those wrestlers who deserves to be higher up on the card than he has been the last few months (based on skill, reaction, etc.), and he knows this too. Unlike guys such as Dolph Ziggler, Antonio Cesaro, and even Daniel Bryan until last summer, he's never really gone with the flow like they have though, and that probably ends up hurting him more than it helps. Again, it's not like he has invalid arguments about why he should be top billing as opposed to Orton, Cena, Lesnar or Batista, but the first two are go-to company guys, while Lesnar and Batista are more attractive to the average fan than a guy like Bryan or Punk. Unfortunately, this leaves Punk in the shuffle yet again- though facing the COO of the company at WMXXX would be one of the marquee matchups, if you ask me.

He still seems a little bit selfish by leaving the fans and the company hanging like this, especially 2 months before WrestleMania, but like I said before, hopefully this is just a temporary setback, and we see him back within the next few weeks.

Welcome back brother. Time to breathe some life into this thread again.

Despite how disappointed I was with the Rumble I've decided to keep watching up until Mania just to keep the tradition alive. Hopefully Punk returns in time to work a program with someone otherwise I'll be very disappointed. ) :

  • The chances of Punk returning by Mania are slim. Still in the dark as to why exactly he left (unless there was something recently announced/discovered that I missed), but it really does seem like he left cause he got fed up with management. In which case, to come back to work Mania would be to cave, and as much as I love Punk, his ego won't allow that to happen. Is that justified? Eh. The fans are getting more screwed over than the WWE, long term, so I don't really know. Regardless, the WWE will move on.

Also, rumor has it that The Shield will be in a triple thread match at Mania. Thoughts?

Triple threat against The Wyatts? I haven't been watching wrestling consistently enough since they made their debut to have a real opinion of them. I enjoyed what I saw of their feud with Daniel Bryan though.

I just read on sherdog that there are rumors that Punk is interested in trying out for TUF (UFC's version of tough enough) and to be honest I'd be all for it. It'd be more interesting than another rivalry with HHH imo.

  • You're thinking six on six tag, by triple threat, I meant Reigns vs. Rollins vs. Ambrose. Essentially, the split of the stable. I think it'd be a great idea, honestly. Despite the downward spiral of Mania's glory, it'd be pretty awesome to have the three members of a stable that came out of nowhere split on the grandest stage of them all.

    Eh, if Punk wants it, I say go for it. I'm still dying over how Brazzers (a porn company) offered him a job, though. Let's not go down the same route as Chyna ;_;

Not sure... I mean, it might look good on paper, but I just don't know if people would actually be interested in it. They've been together for over a year, and that's a pretty long time, but if they do break up and face each other for a triple-threat match, I think it'd be better if they did it at the next pay-per-view and not WrestleMania. In WM, I'd rather have them do something bigger, such as going up against Wyatts. They've just started a feud with them, so if they could keep it going somehow, I could definitely see this happening. According to sources, they've also been talking about having Roman Reigns go up against Triple H one-on-one--that doesn't sound like too much of a bad plan, either. If this does happen, what would it leave for the other two Shield members, though? Just be on Reigns' corner and watch?

Oh damn you're right. Wow my wrestling jargon really is rusty. I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't like the Shield. Nothing against any of the 3 wrestlers individually, but I find the whole concept of their gimmick vague and cheesy. Then again I never liked the Nexus either and they were a huge success.

  • (Skipping over Dakotas comments cause he's usually wrong and I think he might be trolling) (o ya btw who ended up being the driver in that car orton got into? Had to be part of a storyline right?hahaha)

Anyway bray wyatt vs cena seems likely for mania I see reigns vs Ambrose for mania as well. If you pay attention the animosity is between Ambrose and reigns with Rollins as peace keeper. Mania will be sad this year tho with a rumored sheamus vs ryback match? Really? Sheamus has been out half a year and ryback just plain sucks and his situation is a mess. It really irks me when guys like Ziggler bust their ass all year and prolly won't make the card but sheamus just because he's big will get a spot. Sheamus is ok but never will he be 25% of the worker Ziggler is.

Never said I was certain. Might want to look up the definition of 'speculation'. Anyway, I find it unlikely for them to simply ignore one member of The Shield. While it's true that Rollins is playing pave keeper, if a match among the stable did happen, to disclude one would be a mistake.

  • Well again respectfully I think ur wrong. But we will see, Ambrose vs reigns stylistically is more appealing than Rollins vs either or even a triple threat. I'd like to see y2j come back and have a five star match with I a that would be $

Cm punk chants to start raw I love it

Betty white hosting raw epic fail... Wtf is that.

Hhh talking about considering all these faces is getting dumb and the whole face thing in general the top prize is wwe world heavyweight champ not face of the company their diminishing their own ultimate prize.

Not sure how this makes me sound, but CM Punk not being at RAW actually doesn't make any difference at all (in my opinion, anyway). It just feels like just another episode of RAW, honestly. I mean, I do miss him, but... to make him memorable, I guess he just wasn't able to leave a big enough mark before his departure. @_@

  • Ya your right nymph I'd rather see a six diva tag and three Betty white segments lol, this was a horrible raw. Orton and cena had a decent match but it felt like an hour when it was about 15-20 minutes.

  • I wouldn't say it was a horrible Raw, but then again, I have the luxury of fast forwarding through half of it, since I DVR Raw while I'm at work before watching it.

I will say that I didn't mind the Betty White segments (apart from Billy Gunn's lack of... intestinal fortitude), and don't mind when they bring a guest star in once every few months for a cross promotion. Much better than the year and a half of guest GMs.

One thing that continues to pique my interest is this feud brewing between the Shield and the Wyatt Family- and I wish that it's something that lasts much longer than Elimination Chamber. It's not often that we get a stable war like this brewing in the WWE, and it's really something I'd like to see finished up at Wrestlemania, rather than the PPV right before it. I know they're teasing a break-up of The Shield, and there's still rumors that Bray Wyatt will take on John Cena, but all 6 men are perfect in their current roles, and I'd much rather see a big brawl at EC leading up to an epic bout at Wrestlemania (heck, make The Shield split during the Mania match if you have to, to keep those feuds going for Extreme Rules and beyond).

And unfortunately, I have to agree with Nymphadora in that I don't believe CM Punk missing had any impact on the show. I actually think it's kind of prophetic that in his pipebomb, he said that he knows he's just a spoke in the wheel known as the WWE, and it'll keep turning whether he's there or not, and we're seeing just that.

  • Cm punk is just a spoke in a big wheel, the wwe has lost countless stars some bigger than punk and moved on seamlessly. The show deffinitely lacked good solid wrestling tho Daniel Bryan didn't wrestle, no cm punk, dolph gets 4 minutes and loses to del rio. It was a sub par raw in my eyes but lately that has been the case for every raw regardless of cm punk being there or not so I'm not suprised. I think there having miz rib punk right by coming out and complaining, hope this doesn't result in miz being back into the wwe title picture he's god awful.

Also during Dean Ambrose vs mark Henry last night during commercial break cm punk chants broke out and Rollins took the mic and said "cm who?" And continued to praise Ambrose and put down the crowd.

Also before the show was about to go live cm punk chants broke out and Michael cold reportedly said "how about.. Just go home" or something to that effect. I'm curios if punk doesn't return b4 his contract expires will wwe ever mention it. Smart money says no but you never know what wwe will do when it comes to managing talent

I hope the WWE officials are smart enough to understand that making any negative comment about Punk on live television will only incite the audience to continue chanting his name. I also hope Rollins doesn't get any heat backstage for what he said. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHZMY9gINwE)

This is getting silly. I understand the people's desire to see Punk. I also understand that nearly all wrestling fans over the age of fifteen like to blame everything unfavorable that happens in the world of wrestling on HHH. Where is the common sense on this one, though? Punk walked out, unprompted, because he didn't want to do his job anymore. How is HHH, Vince McMahon, or the WWE to blame in any way? Because they didn't give Punk what he wanted? Punk was a contracted employee. He isn't entitled to main event Wrestlemania, he isn't entitled to choose his opponent, and he isn't entitled to call the winners and losers of matches. I enjoy watching CM Punk perform. He's damn good at being a professional wrestler. But if he wants to do his own booking, choose his spot on the card, and determine the outcome of his matches, he ought to spend the money that he has saved and start his own promotion. Just because someone is good at what they do doesn't mean they should get everything that they want.

CM Punk is an entertaining wrestler, yes. But he's also obviously an entitled egomaniac. I hope he comes to his senses and comes back, but if not, I won't be blaming him being gone on anyone but CM Punk.

  • Yeah he's confirmed for next Monday unless he's pushed back but word is he'll probably be in a host role as to wrestling although some matches are being tossed around. Roddy piper has been petitioning for a match with the hulkster for mania.

Anyway just started watching raw, likes the first segment and enjoyed Christian vs Bryan. Really liked the heelish side of Christian and his solid in in ring work focusing primarily on Bryan's arm the whole match. Than of course Kane being wasted and further tarnished having boring spot with Bryan.

If Daniel Bryan doesn't win at elimination chamber which I'm not predicting, I'm starting suspect a Bryan vs Kane match at mania. Woulda been good if Kane came back as Kane and stayed Kane. This corporate thing is whack. Seems since punk turned down hhh for mania, and seemingly got put up against Kane maybe it's now falling on Bryan?

Please no more fandango in pointless matches the guy deserves a solid mid card story/push. Santino is probably my least favorite wrestler besides the miz. At least miz pretends to be serious. Also Emma can actually go in the ring so pairing her with santino is not a good debut push at all. Fandango still impressed me overall.

Reigns vs. Henry not much of a match but very entertaining. Reigns has scary potential his little fist cocking thing he added b4 the punch was sick. But as I'm predicting reings vs Ambrose for mania is seeming more and more obvious. The only question that remains for me on that is if Rollins will stick heel with Ambrose for a lil while after the official "split".

Loves bray's promo and little back n forth between him and reings. Bray is unbelievable I feel he can be the next star even before reings especially as a heel.

Had to edit: Antonio.. I mean Cesaro is the best worker in the wwe. Beyond solid wrestler/grappler. Amazing strength. Simply a lot of things that he can do which look so easy to him cannot be done by others.
