  • all Pokémon's dex entries has height and weight. but how is a Pokémon's height actually measured? from what to what? some Pokémon have things above their head (e.g. Meganium) some are quadruped (walk on all fours) some are bipedal (walk on two feet) and some are capable of both (e.g. Typhlosion) and not to mention some Pokémon have things on their body away from their head that stick out higher than their head (e.g. the wings of Black Kyurem) because of some Pokémon's odd shape or design it is really hard to know what 10 feet really means! so how is Pokémon's official height measured?

I always assumed it was like how it was in Hoenn and Sinnoh. They're measured in comparison to their trainers.

I read somewhere once that serpentine Pokemon were measured from head to tail, not height. Interesting factoid!

This is probably how they measured serpentine Pokemon such as Arbok and Milotic.

But yeah, pretty unusual way to measure a Pokemon's height.

  • Some of these Pokémon don't look as tall or as short as they seem. When I look at the height and weight of some, I say "they can't be that small, can they?".

The anime doesn't always stay true to the in-game measurements, as well.

Charizard is only 5'2" but it's almost twice as tall as Ash and the gang. Groudon is only 11' feet too, but in the Jirachi movie it's as tall as a skyscraper. I'm sure there are other instances, too :p

  • Probably from head to tail because most Pokemon have tails after all. That's what most people here are saying after all. xD

I think that the Profs use a thing like the device which can measure both your weight and your height that there is in the pharmacy, like this:
