    HP 86% | LV. 14 | XP 32% | Col 7000
    Location - Floor 2: Urbus

The armour-clad player walked outside to the outskirts of the square, a weapon in each hand. He flipped Boomeraxe, then returned it to its place at his belt. Standing in a clear area, Turnip held his sword gently in both hands, gazing at the blade's surface. Then, slowly, he began to move. He stretched, and the sword seemed to stretch with him. The blade came down, around, around again, gaining speed and singing with a voice of steel on air. No-one would see it, but the armoured figure's eyes closed. The movements were faster, and in between stabs and swipes Boomeraxe was launched, caught, twirled and slashed. Turnip's weapons, hands, feet and elbows struck out at empty space – and yet they seemed so sure of themselves, moving so naturally and comfortably that it would seem they were designed for nothing else. Fluid, and in time to something – though there was nothing to be in time to. It was strange and somewhat lacking sanity, yes, but there was something… impressive about it all. Beautiful, even. Others glanced at him, not sure what to do about the other player twisting, turning, slicing and punching, fighting nothing. After a full minute, the armour-clad fighter jumped up, planting his sword in the floor and launching himself off of its hilt in a backflip, launching Boomeraxe in the air and landing crouched. The axe caught the upright sword as it returned, sending the blade sliding back to its owner. Turnip caught his axe and flipped his sword into his free hand with his foot, raising the weapons and finally settling, axe in front of him and sword above his head.

Turnip sighed happily, flipping his weapons one last time before sheathing them both, taking in a long breath of cool air. His bastard sword was too heavy for him to use Boomeraxe with it simultaneously, but if he got his timings right he could probably use them in tandem pretty nicely. There didn't seem to be much difference in the effectiveness of his sword-arm, but the grips did have more traction, and catching Boomeraxe seemed a little more comfortable. Ultimately the difference seemed minimal, but it was free and got him some forging experience, so why the hell not?

The armoured man breathed in again – there was an air of calm happiness around, and he found himself in an actual good mood, which was rare for the warrior. He knew that his attitude could probably change in a second, but he was content for now so long as there was nothing to spoil it or annoy him, particularly. He didn't know what it could be, but it was probable that now would be one of the few times when he was actually nice. The armoured figure was well aware that he was generally a force for good, but actually being polite and considerate of other people was something that was not really on his agenda, for the most part.

The helmeted player glanced back at the square, and – what? There was a large Christmas tree dominating the square, a feature that had been entirely absent just a minute ago when he'd gone to find the blacksmith. So that was SAO's Christmas season officially underway, then? Turnip resolved to keep an eye out for Easter Eggs and/or event quests. Under the tree was a large-ish chair, in which a large, jolly old man was sitting, clad in red clothing with white trims, wearing an odd yet awesome-looking hat. Could this be the fabled 'Santa'?

Turnip was pretty sure it couldn't be anyone else. He seemed to match the description… well, that, and he had a big name plate with the word 'Santa' above his head, which, unsurprisingly, was generally very helpful. The armour-clad player noticed that there appeared to be a line of sorts forming, not that big as of yet, leading up to the guy in red. An event-NPC he was, for sure, and with some quests to give to the players, definitely.

Making his way up to the line, Turnip looked out into the city of Urbus. The place was busier than it had been yesterday, or even this morning. He resolved to wait in the line, eager to see what Santa could possibly have to offer for him.

  • Surge & Valkyrie – Floor 2: Second Dungeon

"Right, so here's the plan." Matthias said, as him and Elise walked down the path leading out of the city, Matthias having pulled up his hood and his cloak around him once again to shield him from the falling snow. "He won't expect you to be finished with me at least for a day, so we have that long at minimum, plus, I'd like to think up a good plan to deal with him -and- get paid. So until then, we're doing some of the quests we picked up in town."

He raised a hand, flicking open his quest log while walking alongside his new companion, furrowing his brows slightly as he read through the description for some of the quests. "Mmh... right. We can do Santa's Rudolph quest alongside Terra's quest where she needs forge items. They'll drop from the mobs in the dungeon where Rudolph is as well. We'll be getting a total of 50% XP, 1500 col, five potions, a christmas turkey and a sword, each." Satisfied, he nodded and shut down the quest tab, glancing to her. "Sounds like an easy enough job for a decent reward, depending on how quickly we'll find Rudolph. What do you think?"

Elise nodded and walked alongside the boy with a content little grin on her face. It seemed like he had good priorities at least. Money and loot, two things that spoke very highly of his character to her. A scoundrel and a planner, as partners went, one could do far worse. She had to admit to herself, she wasn't much for planning things. It's far more fun to just jump in and just do it. That attitude reflected pretty much on everything she did. In the game at least.

"Sounds like a plan, Stan," she mumbled and looked around as they finally left the town and entered the fledgling wilderness. Toggling her inventory and pulling up a piece of digital bread, she began to nibble on it and go quiet as she normally would when traveling to a quest. This was the first time she had actually grouped with anyone. Did he want to talk? She wasn't much for conversation, at least not in her opinion. Unsure exactly what to do with him, she pulled another piece of bread from her inventory and threw it to the man. "Here, might wanna eat while we can. It's not half bad anyway."

Matthias only just managed to turn and grab the bread, blinking a little in surprise with raised brows, looking from the bread and up to her. It was rather odd for her to just give him something, especially considering the type of person he had her figured to be. She definitely wasn't trying to poison him or something, or she could've attacked him while he was fishing. Shrugging his shoulders, he raised the bread, taking a bite of it and, to his surprise, it was actually rather good. He swallowed down and glanced over at her for a moment before clearing his throat. "Thanks. It's actually not that bad."

About an hour of awkward little comments here and there later, the two arrived in front of the dungeon closest to the Lone Tree. Aside from the tree and this rocky outcropping with a large entrance in it, majority of the sorroundings were plains, with a couple of hills here and there. With everything covered in a fine powder of snow, it looked almost idyllic, especially with the light of day behind the gray clouds slowly starting to fade away. Matthias looked over the entrance to the dungeon, grasping both of the daggers at his belt, which he unsheathed, holding one upright and the other upside-down, before glancing to Elise. "Ready for this? We have to be careful in there, no matter how high level we are. Some of the monsters have some nasty tricks up their sleeves."

"Aww, isn't that sweet," she teased him and stuck out her tongue while gripping her spear tightly. "You're concerned about little old me?" Elise giggled and rolled her eyes before taking the lead and walking cautiously into the dungeon. It was dark, dungeons always were it seemed. Maybe just once, dungeon makers could put in a nice skylight now and again. It all became a bit cliche after a while. Darkness and dungeons, if they included dragons it would be the trifecta. In fact, she seemed to remember an old game with a name like that at one time.

"So, this quest," she whispered and turned to look at Matthias while walking backwards down the hall. "What exactly does it entail again?"

"First quest has to do with finding Rudolph and escorting him out." Matthias replied, turning his head around as he lifted a hand to pull the cowl of his cloak down, looking around warily. "The other one, we have to get some item drops from Salamander Warriors and- Tauros!" His eyes now directed straight forwards, he rushed past Elise, using his Delay ability as he raised one of his daggers, the metal scraping against the side of the horn of a bull-esque creature that had charged right at them, which caused the creature to veer off to the side, stumbling a little. Matthias spun around, holding up his daggers as he gave Elise a little look with his brows raised as if saying 'Told you to be careful'.

"Yeah, yeah," she waved him off with a bored tone in her voice, ignoring his reprimanding look. Readied her spear and lunged into the air, her attack quickly piercing the digital hid of the beast. It reared from her attack, making her hop backwards in a quick defensive maneuver. She smiled and held out her arms like a spanish bull fighter. "Oh, please, this guy is a pushover. Slow and clumsy, hardly one worth keeping an eye out for." She ran towards the bull, at the last second, sliding on the ground, her blade glimmering in the faint light. Just as she neared it, she jabbed upward, landing a critical hit in the gut. Data erupted around her like a light show. The loot window popped up and she hit 'loot all' without even really looking at it.

"Piece of cake. One down, however many left to go."

"I'm okay," Robin answered Lucina's question. He took of his hood and took a breather. This was definitely a though fight for both of them. She stared at Robin's white hair but she didn't really know why and shook it off when she heard him say "Let's go," and started walking. She followed him and it was quiet for between both of them. Lucina started to feel uneasy and decided to break the ice. "So... do you have any brothers or sisters?" Lucina asked him, trying to look at his face again. "I already told you but I have a 2 years younger sister." Lucina said with a small smile across her lips.

"She's pretty innocent... I wouldn't know what to do if she had ended up in here instead of me. I think I would've gone crazy... maybe even get the game illegally just to save her from the dangers in here." Lucina admitted. Thinking back about her sister made her feel a bit sad. Whatever was happening with her in the real world now, Lucina wasn't going to be there for her this time. "I don't have many friends in the real world. Only a guy who's usually acting very stupid and a girl who is usually too busy to hang out with me. I spend my time gaming." Lucina spoke.

"What about you?" Lucina asked out of curiosity. She didn't expect him to have much friends since he has been acting hostile and uninterested towards other people since she met him. As they were nearing the city, Lucina got into her inventory and put back her cloak on. Hiding her face right now was probably a good idea concidering that she was attacked today. She wasn't going to act so helpless next time. Lucina won't go easy on them next time.

  • Godot felt a bit of sadness upon hearing Phoenix's response, but part of him expected nothing less. He opened his menu and sent her a friend request. "Well...my offer's always open. Shiren was always the type to solo without hesitation. I understood why, she was a confident player, and somewhat stubborn. But she could be reckless, too, and there was one time where I didn't think she'd make it..." Godot looked away momentarily. "I know you're no different, Phoenix, and that's why I'm not going to let you do this by yourself. I want you to trust me."

Just as he was about to close his menu, another friend request flashed onto his menu. It was from Apathy. She looked away and say, "Well since you're sending friend requests to girls you just met, I thought I might as well..." Godot put on the hammiest smile he possibly could and ran over to Apathy, who, expecting that he would do this, brandished her weapon and held it toward him. Godot clicked his teeth and sighed.

"Anyway," Godot started, "I have a few things to get done. There's a sea-dwelling wyvern that I need to fight and Christmas presents to get." He pointed to both Phoenix and Apathy. "That means you two are getting some as well, and I won't settle for just sending money. You don't have to give me anything for Christmas, but in return, I expect something for Valentine's day."

Apathy rolled her eyes. "Oh, so you trap people into giving you..." She paused and gave him a sharp look. "...Certain sensual favors..." She looked at him with a dry expression. "...By giving them gifts. Again, you're despicable."

"I just like to give presents is all," Godot shrugged, "and when I was younger Valentine's day wasn't much of a gold mine for me." Apathy looked away again, mouthing something under her breath. "Anyway, I have to go fix my fishing rod. C'mon, Apathy." Godot waved for her to come over and started to walk away, but he soon noticed that she wasn't following suit. He looked back to see that she was making easily the most expressive pose yet. She seemed to be in shock and covering her mouth out of disgust.

With her eyes swinging left and right, Apathy started speak in a slightly less deadpan voice. "Godot needs help fixing his fishing rod and he asks me to go with him...what type of girl does he take me for?" Godot scowled with very visible irritation. "Clearly Phoenix is the classier of the two of us...because she would surely never do..." She shot Godot a sharp look covered by crocodile tears. "...that. And we've only just met! Oh, what has the world come t-"

"I'm leaving," Godot said dryly, walking in the other direction.

"Ah!" Apathy exclaimed in her signature deadpan voice. She ran in his direction and walked next to him. Godot looked back to Phoenix and said, "Remember, I'm always here to help. If you ever face a member of the Black Azaleas, or if you just wanna belt me one, just shoot me a message!" With that, he waved and headed off to find the Silver Salmon.

    CHAPTER III,
    Part I:

    "Not Your Typical Grind"
    .

"Godot," Hono spoke up, her tone stoic and powerful, before returning back to normal, "If you want to see me let all of my emotions out, find me when we're out of this game." Her expression turned dark. "Or point me in Kayaba's direction." She turned and was about to leave, but stopped after a few steps. After a moment of nothing, she spoke one last thing. "And please... Call me Hono. You are my friend after all, right?" With that, she left-handedly tapped the accept friend request button. Then, she equipped a new piece of clothing: a hooded cloak, fiery-red, and as she left, she threw the hood over her head. She walked away, a red silhouette, off into the fields.

After a while of walking, she reached the end of the map. this was, of course, blockaded by vertical mountains, however, it didn't quite match up to Hono's memory of it. No, no, there was something in the game that was not here now. Or at least, it appeared to be gone. "Hey, AI, are you still there?" Hono's eyes flickered blue for a single moment, as if responding. "Didn't there used to be a dungeon right here?" Her eyes returned to blue, this time holding its color for several moments before fading. "If it's still there, then I should be able to get in somehow, right?" She felt against the wall, and tapped on it as if she was checking how solid the wall was, forgetting for that moment that she was in a game. Still, the adventure excited her, especially knowing the dungeon was now technically "off-limits" and out of bounds.

"I have to get in there..." She watched the wall intently, pondering how. That's when her eyes went full-blue and she performed a dashing sword art, and, by doing this, dashed right through the wall, collapsing on the other side. Sure enough, the dungeon entrance was still there, just blacked by the boundary. Hono stood up immediately, seemingly a bit freaked out. "You could've killed us both doing that!" Her childish giggle echoed in Hono's ears, and she just shook her head and kept going. "I think I know why they blocked off this dungeon..."

"This particular dungeon was blocked off of the rest of the game due to it being too close to the first town on this floor while also being an incredibly difficult dungeon, with monsters ranging from levels 16 to 18, including a mini-boss at the end that is set to four levels above the player upon entering the room. It was also likely closed off due to it having no related quest, plenty of traps, and a legendary weapon."

"And, unless they changed it, that weapon should be my Ōdachi No Honō..." Hono looked onward, squinting at the distant corridors. "This should help me level faster, get my favorite weapon, and possibly help me to unlock that battle healing ability..." She pulled down that hood, placing her left hand over her katana. "I only just bought this weapon... But I want my Ōdachi No Honō back." She took her first steps through the dungeon, her hand over the blade's hilt, at the ready.

    Chapter One: Part One
    Alucard the Gambler

Alucard and another warrior around his age with a large greatsword stood in an alley way facing each other. The town they were in was on the second floor and it was the quiet little village of Marome.

"I bet you 500 col, no 700 that my rapier skills are much more stronger than your skills with a greatsword. You are what I would call a glass cannon, you can deal a lot but cannot take anything." Alucard said to the warrior with a cocky expression on his face. He scrunched his face up in anger and without a moment's notice initiated a duel, with the rules of a clean hit or first person to reach half way health.

"Oh so you want to prove me wrong?" Alucard said with a large grin on his face whilst accepting the duel.

The countdown began and Alucard drew his Rapier whilst the young boy drew his great sword. Alucard got in a position with his centre of gravity low and his sword high so he could jump if the boys swing was faster than he anticipated. When the number finally reached 0 a purple sign appeared saying «Duel Start». The youth jumped as soon as the sign popped up and Alucard simply jumped out of the way as the warrior's sword hit the ground. With a large bang sparks jumped from the ground at the large impact that the boy had delivered.

"Oh my it seems you missed me" Alucard laughed as he thrusted his Rapier into the back of the stunned warriors back.

"Aha it seems I proved you wrong; don't worry about the col though you probably need it more than I do. You should work a bit on your «Dexterity» skill so you can deliver a faster blow." Alucard said proudly before patting the young boy on the back.

"Yeah thanks for not making me pay up. I won't act out of rage next time." The warrior replied looking at his feet.

"Hey, tell me your name kid, I am thinking of going to «The Lone Tree» tomorrow to grind, you should tag along." Alucard said whilst sheathing his sword.

"My name here is Ingward. Also don't call me a kid I am like 19 years old now!" Ingward replied with a frustrated look on his face.

"Okay Ingward, I just sent you a friend request we will meet at the edge of this village in the morning, I have a plan to help level my battle healing skill. I will elaborate tomorrow I am getting tired and would like to have a good dinner before I head back to Urbus." Alucard said walking off.

  • Robin - Lvl 11
    Floor 2: Plains
    HP: 32% - EXP: 69% - Col: 904

As expected, Lucina was the first top break the ice between her & Robin. She started with asking if he had any brothers or sisters. Robin is still relieved he has none, but maybe he would've changed if he did have any. "No," he replies, leaving it at that. As she said sometime ago, Lucina has an innocent sister in the real world. They both were in that incident. From what Robin's hearing, her little sister must not be holding out well without her sister with her.

Lucina also mentions she has few friends. That sounds like Robin himself. Lucina further presses Robin if he has any friends of his own. This conversation is pointless. "I have a few," Robin starts, "& a best friend too." Robin paused for a while before continuing, thinking he's saying to much. "I don't spend too much time with him much." Robin hopes Lucina won't press him further about his life. It's embarressing. His friend, though...

How does Clay feel about all this?

    Date: December 23
    Floor 2 - Urbus Town

Finally, they're at their destination. «Urbus» This city was only reached yesterday, thanks to the defeat of the 1st boss. "We're finally here," Robin states, finally relaxing. Their first stop should be the inn, then Robin should find an NPC blacksmith to repair his «Anneal Blade». "Let's take you to the inn now." Robin already heads towards the nearest inn. They need to heal soon too, plus Robin's fatigue is kicking in. He'll need some food to regain some energy.

    Morome > Urbus

    Chapter One: Part Two
    Alucard the Gambler

Alucard wondered the flat plain that was situated atop a snowy hill. To the naked eye it would look like a normal snowy area but upon further examination you could see where it just dropped off. Alucard had his night vision turned on which automatically turned on when it got dark he could see the red glow of a herd of Ox like creatures. The problem with travelling at night is you can get jumped by player killers but that didn't mind Alucard for he was a great swordsman (in his opinion) and the amount of evil players wasn't large enough or brave enough to come near the front lines, they would be on the first floor attacking people who were too scared to leave the «Town of Beginnings». After a few more minutes of walking Urbus came into view and Alucard raced after the town that was placed inside a crater. As soon as Alucard came into town he headed to an Inn he had frequented as soon as the second floor was opened, the Ragged Flagon. He walked in and watched as two idiot players were having an argument as to who was stronger, they were two men who had just got to level 9 and they were trying to grind enough to get on the front lines but as fate would have it there paths crossed and only one could go one. Alucard decided to break up the fight.
"Oi, you idiots stop yelling people come here to sleep and relax not to argue. If you wish to fight then fight me I bet 50 col I can beat you both, one after the other!" Alucard said with a smile on his face thinking of the money he could make if he did this with every person he passed by.
"Huh why you think you are stronger than me! I will show you." The one on the right yelled storming out of the building.
"You think you have what it takes to defeat the Cosmic Sword? I will beat you down for your insolence!" the one on the left yelled storming after the one who had just left.
"Are they NPC's" Alucard thought to himself as he walked outside to face his opponents. "Okay which one of you numbskulls want to fight me first?" Alucard said drawing his rapier.
"I will and I bet 100 col I can beat you!" the one who stormed out first yelled with eyes of anger.
"Okay then, as you wish but you must pay up if you are defeated." Alucard said looking down at the warrior. Alucard initiated the duel and his opponent drew his sword. As the timer timed down Alucard drew his rapier and dropped into the position that he had earlier that day. The timer reached 0 and the sign popped up saying «Duel Start». Instead of waiting for his opponent to strike first Alucard decided to take the first attack and dashed next to his opponent striking his opponents sword arm. His opponent exclaimed and swung his sword horizontally in the direction of Alucard but Alucard saw through this and jumped backwards. This gave enough room for Alucard to begin his «Sword Art». His opponent did the same but before his opponent could begin Alucard struck his opponent and greatly reduced his HP into the yellow zone. His opponent became frustrated and started throwing hits from nowhere at Alucard with much ferocity. Alucard only being able to block the hits every so often he jumped back and looked at his HUD, they were at about the same amount of health.
"Hehe, well this won't last long" Alucard proclaimed as his HP began to rise back into the blue zone. His opponent watched in dismay and was dumbfounded by this and as Alucard smiled waiting for an attack he jumped at the chance bring his sword in front of him facing down at Alucard. Alucard instead of dodging or blocking just stepped a little bit forward and threwhis rapier into his opponent's chest. «Duel Ended»
His opponent kneeled there in shock, he had been beaten. The other challenger looked in amazement and began switching from looking at the person he had just been arguing with and Alucard.
"You… win, I just thought that…" The opponent stuttered as he initiated a trade with Alucard. After that was all done Alucard looked at his next challenger but he shook his head and ran off.
"Ah, well atleast im 100 col richer." Alucard laughed to himself as he walked back into the Inn. After paying for his Inn fee Alucard walked upstairs and caught a good night sleep after eating a sandwich that tasted like raisins.

  • Cerulean - Level 13
    Second Floor: Urbus
    HP: 81% EXP: 30% COL: 700
    -------------------------------------------
I regret leaving the shop already Cerulean thought to herself as she was roughly brisked past by another Player. Urbus had had many visitors that December night and, though Cerulean didn't actively try to meet anything of them, they all seemed to meet her. There, another smile. Cerulean forced another one back and shifted in her armor on the bench outside of the second floor main town's inn. A man had just retreated inside the inn a while ago, after dueling two "idiots" in a dispute.

The road to Urbus had been a not so simple walk through the dungeon and then the Field. Cerulean had got a little scrapped up during the walk but other than that, she passed players easily, deciding to not stay on the main road. In fact, she had made it a point to arrive at Urbus before night fell, to get to a safe zone before the PKers came out to play.

PKers. . . the thought of them made her stomach queasy.

Cerulean looked down into her prepared sandwich, one that she had cooked for the trip but didn't eat because she was so absorbed in making it to Urbus. Why am I here? she asked herself in a thoughtful whisper. I should be back at the bakery. How do I know if Arnold is doing alright? What if he burns the biscuits? The biscuits are the best thing we sell. If he burns them we'll go bankrupt. I'll lose the shop. Cerulean shook these thoughts her head and bit down hard into her sandwich. She felt the pixels crunch 'neath her teeth before taking to scanning the outside of the inn with bright dark blue orbs. I can't worry about that kind of stuff right now. Get to the end-game just like Arnold told me to. The blue hair avatar nodded to thoughts and bit down into the sandwich again. It tasted good, almost like real food.

A yellow glint caught her eye. It was the notification of a message. Who could that be from? she thought. With a free finger she pressed it gingerly and the message opened into a brief letter. It was signed by Arnold and made her pleasantly smile once she was done reading. I've nothing to worry about.

Cerulean sat on the bench, blue cape draped over her person and long sleeve leather closing her in protectively. She had her legs cross, thigh-high boots rubbing against one another.

Marome > The Lone Tree > Urbus

    Chapter One: Part Three
    Alucard the Gambler

"Ah, what was his name again Ing something… Ing something, that's it, Ingward!" Alucard thought to himself as he stood outside the town of Marome tapping his foot waiting for the young warrior who he was waiting for. After a few more minutes the young warrior walked over to him wielding his red greatsword and wearing the same black metal armor that he wore the day before, this time with a helmet with the visor flicked up.
"Ah I thought I would find you here, isn't «The Lone Tree» east from town?" Ingward asked with a frown on his face.
"Good work, you see we are going to take another way around there it is riddled with good monsters who drop some good trash that can be sold for a quick dollar. Not to mention the amount they attack for my battle healing will surely come in handy hopefully levelling it up more." Alucard replied justifying for why he had gone this way. After a dealing of healing items and some chit chat they soon set off on adventure. As they walked they spotted a large ox like monster standing in the middle of their path and with a nod from Alucard him and Ingward jumped at the enemy Alucard striking first getting the attention of the «Large Oxen».
"Do you know how «Switching» works?" Alucard shouted as he jumped from side to side as the Oxen ran at him.
"Isn't that when you yell «Switch» and the attacker jumps back and the other party member jumps in taking his place?" Ingward shouted back.
"Yes, well «switch»!" Alucard yelled jumping ten feet backwards. Ingward jumped as soon as Alucard shouted this pulling his greatsword out and slamming it into the Oxens body. I blue light streamed from the oxens body and Ingward started a combo of attacking the oxen exchanging every two hits with a large slice. After a minute or so the Oxen finally fell and the spoils of war were fairly distributed between the two.
"Hey, I don't need this and I make enough money from gambling as it is." Alucard said beginning a trade window. Ingward nodded and took the rest of the items that were previously Alucards.
They continued on with their adventure and after an hour of walking and learning eachothers play styles they found «The Lone Tree». It was midday by the time they found it since Alucard insisted on going through other paths some leading to herd of monsters that not even the strongest player at the time could defeat. After eating a long lunch Alucard jumped up and began to tell Ingward his great plan.
"So this is what we shall do, we will attract a monster and I will let it attack me continuously until my health is in the red zone, at that time I will yell «switch» and you will finish them off. I am level fourteen what is your level?" Alucard asked with a look of interest on his face.
"Oh, uhh my level is 10 last time I checked, why?" Ingward asked. Alucard beckoned Ingward forward and said.
"Don't worry, I just hoped you weren't level 5 these monsters can be a bit of a hassle. Now these monsters should be perfect for helping you level." Alucard said before drawing his rapier and running after another Ox like monster. Alucard sliced his rapier across the Ox's back and it yelled in pain before turning around and charging at Alucard who just stood there frozen. On impact Alucard went flying and hit a tree looking up at the Ox who was beginning to charge again. Alucards HP only dropped to 60%. Alucard jumped up again and took another hit this time his health was in the yellow, another hit and he would be dead so he waited for the right moment as the Ox charged at him and he tried to do the weakest block his health moved slightly but that little nudge put his health into the red zone.
"«switch»!" Alucard yelled jumping back and grabbing a healing potion. Ingward reacted quickly and ran into the Ox with his greatsword out in front pointing at the Ox's head. Just in time Ingward cleaved his mighty sword to send the Ox off its path. The Ox squealed in pain and began to charge after Ingward but Ingward saw this happening and jumped at the right time as the Ox passed underneath him and rammed into the tree that had just flung Alucard into. With another scream of pain the Ox began to slow down and Ingward ran at the Ox and cleaved through its body resulting into the Ox blowing up into a thousand tiny blue particles.
"That was difficult." Ingward puffed looking at his equipment. Alucard stood up and threw a healing potion at Ingward.
"Yes I think letting myself get into the red zone is a little too dangerous. If I were on my own I would be a dead man, Thank you. I need to repair my rapier or at least buy a new one." Alucard replied examining his rapier.
"Well we can't let such a good day goto waste, I think I will stay here training my levels until it gets dark, you?" Ingward asked.
"Yes that sounds alright I want to train my one-handed rapier skill some more and hopefully my dexterity will increase." Alucard replied pulling out his rapier.
After a few more hours of fighting Alucard and Ingward were ready to set off home after a long days work of grinding. Alucard looking at his rapier noticing that if he got into one more battle he would probably lose his rapier.
"Ingward, I won't be able to join you with training tomorrow I have some errands to run." Alucard sighed as he took a look at his inventory.
"I see, well I will be out here grinding. I think I might try and level my cooking skill." Ingward replied as he took a «Teleport Crystal» out of his inventory. "Well, by for now I am gonna head back to Morome and hang out in the Inn." Ingawrd continued before a blue light enveloped him and within 3 seconds there was no trace of the warrior.
Once Alucard reached Urbus he looked at the time and decided to look for someone who could sell him a new rapier. He wandered around the streets of Urbus listening to players trying to upsell their wares. After a few minutes Alucard came across a small alley where a few players were walking in and out. It was known as the Smithys Corner, a place where blacksmiths who couldn't afford a home decided to set up shop. These people where some of the best smiths in the game at the moment and this alley way was perfect because it was wide enough for smiths to stand on either side showing off their wares and trying to get players to buy. Alucard walked up to a man who was easily in his 30's he ordinary clothes that made him look like an NPC. He had many swords next to him on top of a tarp.
"Hello, give me your best rapier." Alucard spoke softly trying not to attract attention from someone who would love to start a fight.
"Well I have this. It's called the Azure Rapier, you can tell because of its azure color and it has great stats for what we are able to create at the moment. It is designed to increase speed and to create more movement but it also doesn't lack in strength it can deliver a heafty blow. It is quiet light like all rapiers and the hilt is absolutely lovely. I will sell it to you for… 600 col" The man said holding it in his hands as if it were a newborn baby.
"Okay, I will take it for 600. That is a fairly cheap price for such a sword." Alucard replied initiating a trade window.
"Yes it is fairly cheap; I just have no use for a weapon that doesn't go into my skill sets." The man replied accepting the trade.
Alucard knew these people his grandfather was like them he would sell anything he didn't need for any amount since they had no use for it. People with those mindsets really help out other players. Alucard continued through the town before finally coming back to the Ragged Flagon where he bought his ticket to a good nights sleep.

Floor 2: Road to Urbus -> Urbus

Robin didn't speak much, as expected. He replied with "No," when Lucina asked if he had any siblings. "I see..." Lucina answered quietly. She started wondering if Robin would've been nicer if he would have had one. They were nearing the town as Robin answered another one of Lucina's questions. "I have a few," Robin said, suprising Lucina a little. "and a best friend too." Robin paused for a while before continuing. Lucina knew that talking about himself was probably something he wasn't used to so she patiently waited. "I don't spend too much time with him much." Robin finishes.

"Heh... I'm kind of suprised." Lucina said. "Don't see this as offending you, please... but I honestly thought that you would say that you don't have any friends." Lucina smiled softly knowing that he probably couldn't be all that bad if he has some friends. "Like I said, please don't see that as offending you." Lucina went into her menu to equip her cloak again. She suddenly thought of how it was possible that the username of the guy who attacked her wasn't visable. It was definitely something that she would look into.

Lucina and Robin entered the city of Urbus where everyone seemed to be celebrating Christmas this evening. The Christmas spirit was seen perfectly by a NPC Santa that was standing near the inn. "We're finally here," she heard Robin speak. "O-Oh... ofcourse." Lucina reached her hand out for the door when suddenly a thought came across her mind. "Hmm... you know, I just found the perfect way to thank you for saving me." Lucina turned around and looked straight at Robin's face, looking inside his hood and realizing that his eye color was brown.

Lucina shaked her head to focus on something else than his eyes and opened her mouth to speak again. "You never really told me how you liked that sandwhich that I made you and Godot yesterday, so..." Lucina scratched the back of her head. "How about I'll cook you dinner? Would you like that?" Lucina asked nicely.

  • \\Nirvana/Nightmare - Col 56800 -> 60300//

    \\Road to Urbus -> Urbus//

Varagarv must have been able to sense the anxiety in the air, because he charged after Nirvana once Nirvana's sword art had finished. He arrogantly refused to use sword arts himself, which only furthered the suspicion of his high level. As Varagarv slashed, Nirvana braced himself with his sword. The attack landed directly on his blade, forcing him to step back. From his flank another blade came at Nirvana. He made a swift turning motion in an attempt to avoid the attack, which almost succeeded in. Reflejo's sword barely clipped Nirvana's shoulder, sliding off almost instantly after the attack. In a similar fashion as before Nirvana <Delayed> the recovery of his attackers and started up another attack of his own. This time he'd decided to take a completely different approach, seeing how Varagarv was too durable for many of his attacks. Quickly, Nirvana went into his pose to launch his <Loki's Prize> sword art. He decided to launch the clone at Varagarv and attack Reflejo. As planned, the clone lunged at the preoccupied Varagarv, and with a surprising turn of events Reflejo hurried to the aid of Varagarv. That left the would-be savior open for an attack in the back. Nirvana lunged at his opponent, driving Fiersome through Reflejo's back. The attack caused a stun, only furthering Reflejo's vulnerability. Instinctively, Nirvana started up another <Draught of Delirium>, watching as each strike lands its mark. Reflejo must have been a lower level, because his health had been reduced to almost nothing. One last attack was all that was needed, but at this point Reflejo was panicking for an item and Varagarv was almost on top of Nirvana. Varagarv drew his sword up and slammed it towards Nirvana. With no other option Nirvana threw himself at Reflejo, making an improvised attack out of a dodge roll. The attack landed on the distracted PK hunter, reducing his health to zero. The now dead Reflejo was reduced to pixels, only leaving behind a loot screen. There it was; Nirvana's way out of this battle. Among the items he looted from Reflejo was a teleportation crystal. He opened up his menu, but while doing so Varagarv once again drew upon Nirvana. Almost in sync with one another Nirvana used the crystal and Varagarv slammed a heavy slash down. The attack only hit air, as Nirvana was already gone. Varagarv only stood there, snow gathering on his shoulders.

"I can see why they want him dead. The rat's too slippery to be trusted."

    ***

Nirvana collapsed as soon as he hit the safe zone. To be able to survive an encounter like that without Nightmare being in control was a bit of a surprise to Nirvana, but not one that was unwelcome. He knew that handling his own in a one on one fight would be key to getting rid of his twisted alter ego, but he wasn't expecting to be tested so soon by hunters. Regardless, he managed to slay one of them and came away with some interesting loot. He got another 3500 Col, a few potions, quite a bit of XP, and Reflejo's mask, <Mask of Theros>. The mask was definitely the most interesting item, since it had a peculiar ability. When equipped it boosts the level of known weapon skills by ten. The only downside was that it required a level of fourteen to use.

The mask's level requirement instantly drew Nirvana's attention, because it meant that Reflejo was at least two levels higher than him, which probably explains why his XP bar filled up so much. That fact only made Varagarv seem even more terrifying, especially since he didn't even use sword arts. Nirvana was lucky they underestimated him. While Nirvana was musing about his luck when a beeping noise went off, it was his notification ringer. The shopkeeper, Ryuusa, sent him a message. Ryuusa seemed anxious in the message, threatening to end their deal even though it had only been two days since their arrangement. Nirvana pulled up his menu to send a reply message. A few clicks later and he typed up his message.

    To: Ryuusa
    Subject: RE: Business

You're just in luck, I came across an item you may want to have in your stock. It's a very peculiar mask, but it has a level requirement. I'm in Urbus at the moment, so if you're in the area I can come and show you the item.

Nirvana sent the message, and awaited the reply. He wasn't sure if Ryuusa would be interested in the item, but he knew he should offer it up if only to maintain their business arrangement.

"Cupid's Arrow... I want that lance." Ashley stood upright and looked at the player shopkeeper after peering at the spear through the glass. "How much."

The owner scratched the back of his head, seemingly unsure of how to react to the girl. For god's sake, she isn't even changing her tone! She's not even changing her expression! "That spear is a pretty rare drop... Ehh... I could give it to a pretty young lady like yourself for... Six thousand Col."

"What." Ashley stared at the shopkeeper with blank eyes. "That's ridiculous. Three thousand Col is more reasonable."

"Uh... Four thou. Final offer. It's too rare for me to go any lower."

"... Fine." Ash opened her menu, though when she saw how much Col she had, her expression... Remained the same. "I'm short on Col. Could you put it on hold for me."

"Ehhh... I guess so... But only for the night. I close in an hour, so if you can't get it by the time I close, you lose your hold. Got it?"

"Loud and clear. I'll be right back." Ash turned and ran out of the store, rushing right through the town and into the fields. She pulled her lance off of her back and twirled it above her head before pointing it toward the closest enemy in a group of five salamanders. Holding her lance above her head, it began to glow in a dark color, and she tossed it at the enemies.

  • Kagome
    Lv. 15||Floor 2

After making dinner for the children and telling them that she'd be home for Christmas, Kagome departed for the second floor. She quite a number of gifts to get, but what was really important was finding Rudolph. Her cooking skill was okay, but a Christmas Turkey was incredibly difficult to make and she had no idea what the recipe was. More than anything, she wanted the kids, Jingen, and Godot to have a wonderful Christmas dinner. She knew that there would be competition, and probably a lot of it, but she was confident in her ability. What was more, she had a new weapon, a new Buster Sword called the <<Golem's Fist>>. It was better than her previous weapon and somewhat lighter as well. Unlike her last one, this one didn't have a name, although she considered naming it "Godot".

As she passed the Lone Tree, she made it a point to avoid Phoenix and Godot. She didn't notice the other girl that was with them at the time, so she simply kept moving forward. Luckily, her sneak skill was sufficient enough to get by without being heard or noticed, and not long after bypassing her friends had she reached the dungeon. The moment she got inside, she heard the echoes of other players. She bit down on her thumbnail and said, "I have to hurry..." Her first order of business was to defeat all of the required enemies. Finding Rudolph was important, but there was a chance that she would find him while fighting the required enemies. The other reason for this, however, was that she was under the impression that only one person could get the prize. There wasn't any real reason for this, though it was probably due to the whole ordeal with the cloak. Thus, everyone was an enemy.

Once Kagome entered the dungeon, she locked onto a Tauros and readied her Buster Sword. "Alright, an easy kill!" She thought to herself...before being interrupted by two other player who would kill it first. The young maiden's grip on her weapon strengthened, and her teeth ground like a chainsaw against wood. As was often the case, Kagome's temper had gotten the better of her. "DAMMIT!" She pointed at the two who stole her kill. "You guys stole my kill! I can't let you have the turkey...it's MINE!" She raised her Buster Blade to the sky while growling violently and leapt toward the two. "METEOR BLADE!!" She felt some happiness in being able to use «Meteor Blade» again and reveled in it as the blade turned black and was covered by a much larger, translucent red one that struck down on her opponents.

  • Cerulean - Level 13
    Second Floor: Urbus
    [Urbus --> Fields]
    HP: 70% EXP: 45%
    -------------------------------------------
Cerulean could hear the old sounds of the real world's music in her head that she used to listen to during homework, and anything else that needed her mind for that matter. This was another one of those matters. Cerulean had spent the night at the inn in Urbus and in the morning made way for the town's market. There she replenished her stock of potions, food, and repaired Bloo if she needed it. Once done she stood outside the inn for hours longer, none of the players that entered the town had piqued her interest, they all were here for another reason, the Christmas season as told by the NPC Santa Claus standing outside of the inn, meters from her.

The blue haired girl kicked off from her seat and headed towards Urbus' gates. She passed others as she set off that evening. There was a white haired boy and another, darker, blue haired girl that had just made their way from Urbus' road. She didn't hear what they were saying, she didn't try to eavesdrop and her <Listening> skill wasn't all that good in the first place. Instead, she hummed past, the songs of the real world.

"I'm finding my heart, using my hands. You're my feet on the ground, my footprints..." she sang softly, unsheathing Bloo and walking calmly into the field. It was getting late, she'd have to make this bit of training quick. However, the only Salamander that was around was engage in combat with another player, a girl with a spear (or is that a lance)?

Foolishly, Cerulean went further down the road, further from Urbus and the darkness kept creeping in. She knew the dangers of traveling from Safe Zones at night but she had dilly-dallied long enough in Urbus throughout the day and none of the Players looked able enough to form a party. They'd just slow her down and that's not what she needed right now. "You light me up, when I all I see is darkness..." she continued, setting her eyes on a small family group of <Large Oxen>.

The swordswoman equipped her rapier, Bloo, and released a sigh. "Here we go!" Cerulean shouted, activated her ability. She kicked off in a blur of blue, her cape furling wildly behind her, aided by her passive ability <Sprint>. Bloo was held in her left hand, as opposed to the usual right as she engaged the Oxen. Together the Oxen retaliated, there were three of them, maybe a bit more than Cerulean could chew but it was too late to turn back now.

They charge towards her in unison, forming a row of butting, horny, heads. She leapt into the air and they passed under her. Once landed she turned towards the Oxen as they too turned to meet their aggressor. The words to the song chimed louder in her head, as her virtual blood quickened. She had forgotten the excitement she felt from the fights. Cerulean sprinted towards them again and lashed out in quickly, multi-combo'd blows from Bloo. An Oxen went down in a blaze of blue steel.

Another charged from behind her, in retaliation as its friend fell and dissipated into pixels. Cerulean rolled to the right, dodging one only to be hit by the charge of another. She was knocked back, sent into a tumble in the virtual grass. Her health bar was chunked, a portion of the green now missing. She stood once again, and held Bloo's hilt in both hands. The sword was held pointedly towards the setting sun and her feet shifted apart. The cape drapped behind her and flowed in the animated wind. It felt good, oddly.

The Oxen launched another assault, working together to push foward in a crazed charge. Once the Oxen were close enough Cerulean shouted, "Accelerando!" Bloo was enveloped in a blue sky aura before being clutched closer to its master. Cerulean twirled hard in a tornadic gust of steel and the after, the Oxen lay dead. The girl breathed a sigh as the <Loot Window> appeared in front of her.

Cerulean collected her loot and glanced to her health bar, it sat at seventy percent now. "Bravo," a voice chimed darkly. Blue hair swirled as its owner whipped around to face the voice. Bloo was raised in the same battle ready stance, this time held towards the rising moon. Cerulean's dark blue eyes surveyed her addressor, it was a man dressed in dark leather. He was tall and his head obscured by his overly large hood. On either side of him were two other men, both of the same height but shorter than their assumed leader.

"Who are you?" Cerulean asked quietly, clutching Bloo lightly.

"We're players, just like you," the tall man drawled. Cerulean took an inward gasp as her song stopped in its chord. The arrow above the man and his minions glowed orange. PKers.

    Chapter III ― Part II
    "Not Your Typical Grind"

    OUT OF BOUNDS
    x
    .

"Be careful, Mini-taurs around this corner. Five, all level sixteen, and compared to your weapon and damage output, they should take about four or five normal attacks to kill, less if you hit criticals or use Sword Arts."

Hono crossed her arms. "Why couldn't you have helped me earlier, or yesterday??"

Shiren giggled. "I was napping, silly!"

    "Nappin-- For over twenty-four hours!?"

By this Shiren was giggling too much and could hardly speak for several seconds. "Heheh... Oh yeah... Someone was Hiding and following you out there, though said player hasn't followed us inside, so it's safe to say he wasn't able to follow you through the boundary."

Hono shuddered. To think some creepy guy was following her around! She didn't know who, or why. "Well... I have a teleport crystal for when I finish this mission, so I hopefully won't be followed anymore." She sprinted down the corridor into a cave-like room with glowing red-orange crystals in the walls. The Mimi-taurs all noticed her, and growled and roared at her. Her katana lit up in flames, and she grinned. "Flame Slash!" She unsheathed her blade with a sideswipe, which lit three of the Mini-taurs aflame. Her second swipe was also horizontal, lighting one of the unlit enemies and stacking fire on two of the first lit. The unburned enemy charged and lunged, which nicked Hono as she sidestepped and stabbed with her final flame slash through the attacker, stacking a few more fire aspects on the others. The monster dissolved around her blade. The others chased after her but she simply took backward leaps as their HP diminished in the fire until they all eventually dropped and shattered.

Level up! Hono grinned and tapped the blue circle. Level sixteen! "That wasn't very hard... Is the whole dungeon gonna be this easy?"

"Your Sprint and Curved Sword skills leveled as well! The reason you found no difficulty is that those enemies buff each other with defense and armor boosts, but you killed them before they could buff."

"Oh, okay... Well, let's keep going."

"HP at seventy-nine percent... Watch out for traps, they can take up to twenty percent of your health."

"Got it." She walked through the next corridor, though one of the walls caused her to stop. "This one... There's a room behind it, isn't there?"

"Yes, a trap room. But the loot is extremely good for this level... None of it suits your play style, though, so if you wanted it, you could use it for bartering, or gifts for friends."

    "You think we should?"

"You risk dying... Survivability chance for you is around sixty percent. However, they are red skeletons, and are resistant to fire."

    "Alright, let's do it."

  • Rikuto Yuuto Sato // Ryuusa Lv.7
    Urbus
In store: Floor 1 - Closed, Floor 2 - Closed (Special Item: Berserk Ring / 2000 col)

As usual, Rikuto sat at the counter of the shop attending to customers. Sometimes it would be one after another, sometimes there would be a several minutes until another person came in. What wasn't as usual, however, was the fact that Rikuto could not achieve the peaceful state he usually reached when managing the store. Whenever he wasn't busy his mind would immediately wander to the previous night; his attempted murder. He struggled to figure out the who, why, and how of the entire incident with no success. During a period of such distress, he found himself mindlessly staring at his hand. There were a few things of which he was certain from that night. First was that the hand that manipulated his own was definitely that of a woman. Maybe it could have belonged to a more feminine man, but it was a feminine hand nonetheless. Secondly was that his savior was large, and presumably strong. They were able to lift the killer high enough off the ground to push them out of his window. He was surprised at the lucidity with which he remembered it all, considering the stupor he was in when it happened.

He continued staring at his hand, the gears turning furiously in his head. At this point the shopkeeper was in his own world, stuck inside his head. Naturally, he didn't notice that Princess had stepped into the new shop. "Hello," he heard the girl's voice call from in front of him. With some progress finally being made concerning the incident, Rikuto was a little more lost in thought than the other times he thought about it. It took a few moments for Princess' voice, or even presence, to finally register and for Rikuto to look up.

"Huh? Oh, Princess! What are you doing here? You don't need to work on holidays, remember?" Rikuto tried to snap back into a more alert attitude, but he was unable to hide his flat-footedness. "Oh, you're here about your guild cloaks, right? With all that business yesterday with the boss, Silver Mist never got to...no, she did, didn't she?" He rubbed his chin in thought. As he did so, his lucidity slowly returned. "Sorry, I guess I'm not in top condition right now. Don't worry about it. So, what did you need?"

Before she could answer him, however, he heard the familiar sound of an incoming message. "Hold on a moment please, Princess," he said as he opened his inbox. Just as he'd hoped, it was from Nirvana. While Rikuto wasn't actually in any hurry for new items, he did need to make sure he hadn't wasted the money he had payed to initiate this agreement. Once he knew the man was indeed going to be bringing things in he would be able to sleep easier. Well, considering his situation he wouldn't be able to sleep at all, but it was just an expression anyway. He began typing a reply.

Glad to hear from you. I have a new location in Urbus town square but unfortunately we will be closing early today so you can bring it in any time tomorrow.

Satisfied, Rikuto moved his hand to close the menu. As his finger passed over the display, however, he noticed something was wrong. 7:00 PM. He was a whole hour late for the celebration, and he had even said that he would close the shop an hour early. Aww hell. Is that why Princess was here then? He had been way more lost in thought than he initially thought. "Wow, sorry Princess. I guess I lost track of time, haha...ha...Alright let's go." He moved to the store management menu and set the store to closed before walking out from behind the counter. "I've never planned a party before, so let's see how it goes!" For some reason he felt compelled to act more friendly around the young girl. He didn't have time to think about that though, since he was now in a hurry. At least town square, and with it the celebration, was right outside the door.

    (OOC:) How the store works:

    Level: 13

"Huh? Oh, Princess! What are you doing here? You don't need to work on holidays, remember?" Ryuusa said to her. "Oh, you're here about your guild cloaks, right? With all that business yesterday with the boss, Silver Mist never got to...no, she did, didn't she?" he rubbed his chin and Maria smiled sadly at the mention of the cloaks. "Sorry, I guess I'm not in top condition right now. Don't worry about it. So, what did you need?" he asked before asking her to wait a moment as he read a message. After that he suddenly realized the time and remembered the party.

"It's okay" she said quietly. "I came here to find you because I wanted to find where the shop was." she smiled sadly. "I also wanted to remind you of the time, your not the only one planning something. Zeus and Poseidon might not have told me but I know they are planning something to celebrate my birthday...even though I don't want to"

Urbus. This place is pretty cold. Their's the Santa NPC with the spirit. Robin should take the opportunity to take the quest soon. Putting that thought aside, Robin doesn't take offense to Lucina's comment about having friends. Typical answer. "Hmph, it's only logical to think I don't have any friends from my status. It's not like I wanted to make friends anyway, they insisted," Robin explains himself, deciding to drop the topic.

Robin saw Lucina attempting to look at his eyes inside his hood. Robin looks away from shyness. Is she trying to get friendly with him? It's pointless if she ever dies when they're friends. As they enter the inn, Lucina proposes an offer: she cook him something. Robin doesn't know how to cook, but should he take up her offer?

...Where else can he get food like hers? Of course, they'll have to talk...more. Then again, they still have to discuss a few stuff, specifically, that mafia group.

"Very well." Robin steps in with Lucina & chooses a room. "Also, that sandwich was..." Robin couldn't finish his sentence as he was too embarrassed to say it was good. He looks away & covers his mouth, his whole cheeks blushing red. Lucky no one can see through his hood. He enters the room already thinking as he takes off his hood, his embarrassed look subsided, "If you could...a Fruit Sandwich..." he asks for hesitantly, taking a seat near a small stand. Besides his mother, he's never had anyone else cook for him. Well, their was that one girl he tried to save with his friend when he was sick at the time, & the girl tried to be friends with him, starting by cooking something for him as thanks. What is everyone's life without him in the real world?

    "Euuuaaaaaggghhhh… Huuuuuuhhhhhhh... Buhaaaaaaaaagh-"

    "Can you shut up, please?"

"I'm boooorrreeed. There's no reason for this, it was the shortest bloody line in the world!"

"Just be quiet, alright? Complaining won't help anyone."

    "Hmph… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … Uuuuuuueeeaaaaggggghhhh…"

The bystander sighed. Being behind Turnip in line wasn't a good thing to be. The vegetable in question had been making various complaining noises for almost half an hour now. It was true that the line hadn't been long at all, Turnip having joined it a mere five minutes after the Christmas events actually began, but for some reason this last person – the very last person before Turnip in line – was taking an age and a half. And then, in a moment Turnip almost never believed would come, the man on Santa's lap (he was actually a fully grown man, which makes the situation a little weird) finally got up and left. Turnip was, of course, the first to notice, and the first to complain.

"YOU'RE DONE. OH MY GOD, FINALLY. YES. YOU TOOK SO LONG."

The man, slowly, turned to look at Turnip. He opened his mouth – that's how slow he was, you noticed that he opened his mouth before any sound came out – and then spoke.

    "S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-so-so-so-so-so-s-s-s-so-so-so-so-so-sor-sor so-so-so-sor-sor- sorr- sorr- sorr- sorr-sorr- sorr- sorr- sorr-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-so-so-so-so-sorr-sorr-sorr-sorr-sorr-sorr-sorr-sorri-sorry…"

The slowness seemed to be infectious, as it took several seconds for the man's speech to sink in.

    "… One word. Really."

    "I-I-I-I-"

    "Please don't try to speak. It's just because it's… just don't. It's… don't. Don't."

The man simply looked down and walked away. Slowly. Turnip's mood was a little worse for wear now, but he figured it would pass. Just being forced to wait for a little while wasn't something that would weigh heavily on him. He addressed the red-clad man in the seat before him.

"If you're not Santa, I'm going to bloody kill myself."

    … And a happy new year…

"Ho ho ho!" Santa chuckled, "Of course I'm Santa Claus! What would you like for Christmas, little boy?"

"'Little boy'? What are you, blind and deaf? Is that tree hiding poisonous spores or something?"

Santa chuckled again, "No, no, my good man; it's just that I can see the child in you, as I can in see in everyone!"

"Yeah, sounds great- Anyway, you asked me what I'd like for Christmas?"

"Certainly, what does your heart desire?" The old man smiled warmly.

    "A demon."

The smile disappeared immediately, "A demon?"

"Yes. For Christmas, I'd like to know the name of the demon-sword who calls himself Vengeful Acts, so that I can take control of him. Or will you deny a poor little boy's Christmas wish?"

"Are you sure there's nothing else? Maybe a ball or a toy car of some kind? Everyone likes toy cars."

"Well, I suppose I could go for some kind of thing with lasers and sharks an- nope, I- yeah, just that. Name of the demon-sword, please."

"Well, I… I suppose, if it is your Christmas wish, I shall do my best to see that it is fulfilled. At least it's only one request… that fellow before you had quite a few. A name is hardly the most difficult thing I'll obtain for a gift this year."

"Cheers, Santa. So, uh, is there anything I can do for you? Quests 'n' stuff?"

"Well, now that you mention it, I could use some help in delivering some presents… and my poor Rudolph…"

    "Rudolph?"

"One of my reindeer, he's gone missing. I think he must be somewhere in the dungeon near the Lone Tree."

"Hmm, I think I was just about to check that tree place out, too. I could have a look for you, though my last dungeon experience wasn't too great- anyway, what does delivering presents involve?"

"Oh, thank you. For delivering, I just need you to give these presents to five children around town. Could you do that for me?"

"Sounds easy enough. Thanks." Turnip took the five presents from Santa, then waved and left. The man in red shouted after him about triple garden instruments and having a merry Christmas. He soon spotted an NPC child in the streets, and promptly chucked a present at him.

"Merry Christmas, you prick!" Turnip cried in triumph as the present collided directly with the back of the child's head, doing nothing other than granting an <immortal object> notification. The child seemed completely unfazed, shouting a thanks and gazing fondly at the present that had just recently been hurled violently at him.

Wow, that was really harsh of me. Oh well, one out of five. It doesn't seem to bother them, actually, so it's not a bad way of getting this done quickly.

Turnip continued his innocent-pelting, his annoyance at the line wait fading to nothing. He soon came to the realisation that throwing the presents wasn't really saving him much time, which caused him to stop after just another two throws. Two children left to deliver to. Surprisingly, they were becoming a little more difficult to find. After about two minutes, Turnip managed to find another NPC child, but with that child found it was becoming even more difficult. He spent another two minutes still, searching for the final child, before making his way back to the main square again, one last present still in hand. Then, through a shop, he spied one – a child! He raced to the door of the shop in the hopes of completing his quest.

"Aha! You're a child, I must gift- Nnnnope, not an NPC, don't mind me!"

Turnip clattered noisily into the door, but stopped and swivelled away immediately upon noticing the word 'Princess' - the player's name, obviously - above the character's head. He was about to stride away when he snapped immediately to his left.

"YOU." He said in an almost demonic voice, "I've got a present… with your name on it!"

In one swift motion, Turnip threw his last remaining present into the air, then turned and roundhouse kicked the object directly into the NPC child's face. It made a slight thudding noise, provoking no reaction from the child other than a 'thank you, merry Christmas'. Turnip revelled in his victory – with Santa nearby, his quest was pretty much done.

"Nailed it." He said, "High five? Anyone? NICE."

A random person from the square accepted Turnip's high-five. He didn't know who they were, but supposedly they were pretty awesome and appreciated Turnip's skill at roundhouse kicking objects into children's faces. Others appeared to be frowning at the armour-clad player, but to that he simply said, "What? They're totally immortal and everything."

And thus, the time came to confirm his quest's completion. He thundered up to Santa, announcing in a booming voice:

"I have completed one of your tasks, Christmas man! Five presents delivered to five children, as… REQUESTED!" Speaking with such grandeur and unnecessary pauses granted him a bit of attention from the line, but after a quick 'thank you' and a reward from Santa, Turnip was soon out of the line's way.

That didn't stop one guy from complaining, though, "Hey, there's a line for a reason, idiot!"

Turnip turned to him, miffed, "What was that? I'm sorry; I couldn't hear you over the sound of me already being done and no longer delaying anything. It's pretty loud."

    "Oh, yeah, well, screw you!"

Turnip shrugged, "Ooh, you got me there." The armoured figure, notified of his completed quest, decided to check what he'd gained. There were five pieces of <Iron> and a <Christmas Hat>. Turnip simply stared, for a minute, switched to his inventory to view the items, then stared again. He looked on for several seconds, then seemed as if about to cry out in rage…

"OH MY GOD THIS HAT IS AMAZING."

Turnip took the hat and thrust it enthusiastically atop his helmet. It rested there, slightly out of place – well, very out of place – with the rest of his gear, but somehow fitting.

"I mean, yeah, I can probably use the iron to some effect, but the hat? THIS IS PHENOMENAL."

And so the helmeted and hatted player proclaimed to the world the amazingness of the <Christmas Hat>. Right in the middle of the Urbus streets, uncaring for now about the many weird looks he may or may not (seriously, he's definitely getting weird looks) be receiving from others around. Perhaps Turnip being in a good mood isn't so good for everyone else anywhere even slightly near him.
