Depends on how long showers you take. We tend to underestimate just how much water we use when we let it run. Showers are most certainly better at making you clean, however. You don't bathe (heh) in your own filth when you shower.

Possibly, but generally you're more thorough when you take baths because you spend more time with them. Plus the water'll generally be cleaner going out than it was getting in, as long as it's not like that on scene from Spirited Away.
