    Tahni2_zpsjramauqe.png

If Tahni rolled her eyes much more they might actually roll out of her head, and yet she continued as Russell and King went on and on about which of them would make a better leader. If she was forced to pick, she felt King would do a better job, but to be brutally honest; neither one of them could hold a candle to Gallant's leadership in their current state, and the fact that they both think they can just convince the Kirlia to walk away is laughable. Still, she keeps her mouth shut. Butting in will just add to the squabbling, and Gallant will tell them to shut it eventually.
    "Enough of this."
There we go. Gallant began giving a speech on how none of them are capable of being a leader at this moment. He's right, that's why he's here; so they can learn from him. She too would like to be a leader someday, but at this current moment…she probably couldn't lead a Goldeen to water without kicking it there. Her tail goes on swishing with the tiniest bit of pride, getting to go on this mission with Gallant was really something to be proud of, but the mission's not over yet. They still have a Scyther to fight and a treasure to get back. Can't let this all go to her head and then get her head handed to her by the scythes of a powered up bug.
The pride is short lived, the feeling fading when Gallant pops into her head again. Okay? Yes, the Trashbag took out an opponent on his own. He also put them all in danger by giving so little time for them to cover up, and what if one of them had been restrained and couldn't? Pokémon like Gosu don't even have hands! Not to mention the Pokémon that might have been around that were minding their own business, only to get gassed. Without any assistance? Was that a dig at her? She COULD have taken that Poliwhirl out 'without any assistance' if she didn't stop her assault to protect Elly from the literally backstabbing Beedril. She was keeping an eye out for her team, while Trey risked them all. Why are they the two getting grilled?
And it keeps going, except now he's making it a point to call her out. Blindly follow?! Um, no. Blindly following was what she was doing by following HIM just because Bronzong told her to. She wasn't following Elly's example, she was angry on her own right. And gang up on?! She didn't say a word! She just looked angry. What are you supposed to do when someone poisons your friend?! Bury your head in the sand so they won't get their precious little feelings hurt?
BRONZONG? He's going to go cry to Bronzong because his favorite little garbage bag made a LIST of mistakes and finally got called out on it? Okay, that's fine. Bronzong's a reasonable Pokémon. HE'S smart, and fair. He'll hear Elly and Tahni's side of this stupidly twisted story. Not my job to pass final judgement her ass. He won't punish them himself, he'll just spin this tale in his own way so Bronzong does exactly what he wants. Or he would…if, as she thought before, Bronzong was as high and mighty as Gallant. Her ears pin flat against her head as her mind reels in anger. She thought so highly of him…she gave him so much credit for being so competent, but he's no better than her pride leader: Just a pushy, arrogant jerk that plays favorites and puts down everyone else.
She feels the anger growing in her stomach when Elly's eyes cut to her. She can see that Elly's trying just as hard to hold in a powerful, rage filled attack as she was. Tch. Maybe they should, then Gallant will love them too. She resists the urge to tell Elly to let loose those dangerous psychic blasts when they get to Scyther. Forget everyone else, right? Put them in danger, as long as it means you win.
No, that's not right. Just because that's what spindly legs thinks doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. They'll show him by doing this their own way. She swallows her anger down and manages a smug smirk instead. "Tch. Don't worry about it. Bronzong won't buy into the blame game." He might, however, give Trey a little reminder that running out when your guild needs you isn't okay, even if someone you almost killed reacts badly to it. Wonder what Gallant thinks about that one. Oh, right, he didn't say a word, because running away from someone being mean is totally justified, where as being angry you were poisoned is not. Ugh! What an Aipom's arse.

Still, Bronzong wouldn't want her to leave in the middle of a mission just because she was offended. She's going to stick this out. She's going to get that Scyther, she's going to get the treasure back, and when it's over she can tell Gallant where he can shove his big speeches. Her head stays low to the ground as they follow the trail to their next fight.

She held on to that rage and annoyance all the way to Scyther, letting it build and grow inside her even as the overgrown bug made mind-numbing chit-chat with Gallant, until it FINALLY attacked. It made five of itself and charged, was this some kind of double team? Then there's really only one of him, the others are just distractions. This thought is further proven when Elly hit one with a powerful psychic blast, and it disappeared. Alright, they just have to find the real one.
First things first, Tahni harnessed that anger into the loudest noble roar she could muster, hoping to lower the Scyther's attack significantly. With the danger lowered, she darted straight for the remaining four bugs. Her mouth opens, the fire that had built up in her belly from being so incredibly enraged burst forth in the form of a forceful ember, which she sent shooting in a steady stream in order to hit all four. All flickered as they had with Elly's blast—except one.
"It's that one!" She shouts. "He's the real one!" If the others didn't catch the quick blinking, they wouldn't know who she meant. She'd have to show them, which she does by shooting a Fire Spin towards the real Scyther. Trapped in a swirling vortex of fire he would be pretty hard to miss, and the flames would continue to damage him until they subsided.

    TREY

The Buneary was clearly in pain and needed aid as soon as possible. "Hold on little guy, you ain't dying on my watch!" Trey did the only thing he knew and ran into the forest. He had seen an Oran Berry bush on his way to that spot and quickly proceeded to find it and get back to the Buneary helping to feed it the Oran Berry. After a few minutes of nibbling and chewing the Buneary began to perk up, showing some signs of life.

"Hey little guy. You seem to have gone through quite the adventure. Wanna tell me who did this?" Trey asked kindly as he wrapped the Buneary's wounds with some of the long grass all around them.

"Well you see it was this mean old Scyther with a scar. It was running past me and out of nowhere attacked me! I tried to fight it but it was too strong..." The Buneary's voice trailed off, clearly still in pain. Trey looked down at the little bunny and saw some of himself in him. He too had been really weak at one point but he had also come a long ways since those early days of petty crime and even since he had first joined the guild. Here before him was someone who needed his help and he could do something. What made things better was that the Scyther that Buneary had described could only be the same Scyther from earlier, the one with the treasure and had sicked those Poliwhirl and Beedrill on the guild. Trey now had a chance to prove to his fellow guildmates that he was useful and was a vital part of the guild just like everyone else. He didn't have to perfect. He just had to be Trey.

"Alright little guy, don't you worry, I'm going to handle this. You stay here" Trey said with confidence, "which way did that Scyther go?"

The Buneary pointed to Northwest. "You'll find him over that way. Please be careful, he's really strong!"

Trey nodded and ran off, smiling as he went. Scyther may be strong but so was Trey in his own way and that's all that mattered.

    ---

Trey continued running, no Scyther or the guild in sight. That is until he heard some serious ruckus to his left. Out of the air there was a whirlwind of fire. Trey took that as a hint as to where everybody was, rushing off into the underbrush and long grass. Soon he came up behind the action, keeping low and in the long grass, unseen. There in front of him were several Scyther! How could this be? There was only one before, so how could there be 3-4 now? It must've been some kind of elite Double Team. It was truly impressive. This Scyther was seriously strong but Trey couldn't think about that. All he needed to do was figure out who the real one was. He began focusing on the battle ensuing. His eyes kept coming back to the same Scyther though. The one in the Fire Spin. There must have been a reason for that. He then noticed Tahni trying to get the other members of the guild to attack the same Scyther with to be determined success. Trey realized this had to be the real one! Here was his chance to make a difference and this time he really wasn't going to screw up.

Trey waited for his moment, trying to find a chink in its armor where the Scyther would be vulnerable. That moment came quickly as it turned its attention towards Tahni, trying to break free from its fiery cage and ready its attack.

"Oh no you don't big guy!" Trey yelled out as he sprang into action with a Rollout attack. That maybe wasn't the greatest idea to announce his presence as the Scyther whipped around preparing to dodge but was a bit too slow with Trey still managing to slam into its legs, taking it out. The Scyther was now sprawled on the ground, the Fire Spin dissipated unfortunately but that was not on Trey's mind. It was time to go in for the dagger hit.

Trey sprung out of his Rollout into the air. "Alright everyone, cover your mouths and noses again! Its showtime!" Trey tensed up again, feeling the power well up inside him but something was different this time. The tension was more powerful this time unlike anything Trey had felt. Was this a new attack? Trey wasn't sure but he needed to release whatever it was as Scyther was beginning to regain its surroundings and get back to its feet. With that thought in mind Trey let loose the attack. This time though it wasn't a gas cloud but rather a large glob of sludge heading straight for Scyther, smacking it square in the chest, sending it back into the ground. Though Scyther was down for the moment, the battle was definitely not over yet, but at least the guild seemed to have gained the upper hand. The other "Scythers" were flickering rather wildy. It seemed the original Scyther was losing control. Trey landed beside Tahni and nodded to her. They could figure out their differences later but now there was a battle at hand and Trey was ready. The Scyther struggled back to its feet as it glared at Trey.

"Alright you little trashbag, you're gonna get it!"

Trey just smiled and motioned for Scyther to come at him.

    Russell

Russell backed down first, turning away from King as Gallant pontificated about leadership qualities that he felt they didn't possess. "He started it. I was just trying to help..." he muttered as he followed behind Gallant. He definitely hadn't made any friends today, and may have gained a rival in King.

Nonetheless, he followed along, doing his job. A lot of Pokemon disliked him, what was one more? As long as he could help others by punching those who would do wrong, he'd be happy. It didn't take long for his opportunity to arrive. As Gallant tried to arrest Scyther, Russell struck a pose letting the bug know he was ready to fight. As soon as Scyther split into five copies, Russell tucked into ball form, spinning in place. "Let's get this party started!"

His teammates did an excellent job of figuring out Scyther's strategy, and even managed to single out and incapacitate the primary threat. Trey even used Rollout, but the kid doesn't know how to maximize its effect like Russell does. "Let me show you how it's done!" He released his momentum, shooting forward past the others using ranged attacks, and vaulted into the air to crash down on the bug. "CANNONBALL!" Crashing into Scyther's chest, he unfolded and charged up a Shadow Punch.

    Shape

Gosu appeared out of nowhere it seemed. Although that wasn't very surprising, as he IS a ghost. He seemed to be doing everything in his power to hurt this metal pokemon, and it seemed to be working. He was even able to get into his mind! It was clear that the pokemon was under much distress as he was thrashing his arms around and yelling nonsense at the Gastly unsuccessfully.
Shape was done thinking. He had a good plan on how to confuse the metal pokemon even more. Shape focused on the chunk of missing armor on the metal pokemon's right shoulder and released a mass amount of snowy, icy, freezing wind directly at the shoulder with the missing armor. The metal pokemon reared out in pain. He tried to focus its attention on me, but his focus kept getting disrupted by the disturbing images that he was being shown by Gosu. This gave Shape the time to get his Agility ramped up. It started moving faster and faster, and eventually starting circling the massive pokemon. In the metal pokemon's eyes, the moving Porygon was now a blur going aroudn and around, confusing him even more. Every few rotations, Shape would stop and release a Psybeam. The spherical hunk of psychic energy hit the metal pokemon every time, and after about the 6th time, it inflicted the confusion status on him. With Gosu showing him visions, the Icy wind slowing him and inflicting extra damage on the right shoulder, the dizzying movements of Shape thanks to Agility, and the confusion status from Psybeam, it looked like the large metal pokemon was showing signs of wearing out...

(OOC: Sorry for such a shortish post. There was not much to talk about here, but I really wanted to post for some reason...)

    King the Tyrunt

    tyrunt.gif

"You both have potential, but a true leader isn't a figurehead of monarchy, but a servant to the protection of his subjects. Especially out here in the wild. Remember that," Gallant said, breaking up the fight that King thought was about to ensue between him and Russell. Of course, King's pride was hurt just a little bit by the older explorer's remark but he bit his tongue. Sometimes it is just wise to let things pass by. King looked at Golurk but the Ghosty-type looked away, muttering something. King just eyed him warily.

The exploration continued onwards. Among others, King saw the Litleo and the Espurr with them and was surprised to see them as he knew a few moments before that one of them was down. I guess this mammals have a little more bite in them.

Their rest came to an abrupt stop as Gallant spied the Scyther they were hunting. Of course, the Kirlia took front role and exchanged a few words with the Scyther but words would not do the trick. The Bug-type employed a more advance form of Double Team and the fights erupted, with Gallant screaming something about a safe route. King automatically roared and created flames from his jaw. He charged in on the frey.

The Espurr and Litleo started firing their own attacks while Trey managed to appear as if on cue and executed a Rollout. Russell, did another Rollout, but pulled back as he crashed into the Scyther's chest and sent a Shadow Punch towards the Scyther. King wanted to join the fight too. He's been battling Beedrills left and right a while ago. What's another Bug-type? Fire spewed from his fangs again.

The Scyther was reeling from Russel's attack and it was up to King to deliver another huge blow. Of course, a Fire Fang would do the trick wouldn't it. While Scyther's are generally fast creatures, the onslaught of Rollout and Shadow Punch seemed to put it off a little, just enough for King to BITE!!! down on one of Scyther's legs. Small flames erupted on it and Scyther started to flail around. King's jaw, however, was too strong, and he wouldn't release his bite no matter what happens. He willed the flames to get stronger.

    Gallant the Kirlia

Had they done it? The guild recruits had managed to pin down the one Scyther that wasn't flickering. So surely that had to be real deal. It wasn't simply fading away after a hit or two after everyone's concentrated efforts... so surely this was the target! But no, something was wrong. Two rollouts... a vortex of flames and now a fiery jaw clamped around its leg. The Scyther should be obliterated, KO'd... the clones should have disappeared by now, but they hadn't. What was this?...

That's when Gallant saw it... a maniacal grin spread across the burning Scythers face, it was glaring at Tahni, the first to target it in the first place. One of the clones quickly began moving in from behind her while she was distracted. No... what was this opponent? In a sudden instant the object of all of the guildmates attacks, the supposed real Scyther, vanished like any other mirage. It was a trap.

"Damn it! Tahni, move!" Gallant boomed with his mental presence as he rushed forward, but the Scyther was too fast, he moved too far too quickly. Tahni would never be able to stop the furious Slash that was about to be brought down upon her, the Scyther got in close and rose a bladed arm high. There was no time, Gallant would have to use his special attack.

He thrust a hand outward as he ran and his eyes began to glow a deep purple, for a single moment, one blistering instant... his sealed eye shot open to reveal a similar glowing hue. A wave of psychic energy latched onto Tahni's physical presence as well as Gallant's own and within a mere instant, Ally Switch had been completed. Tahni would find herself standing a few feet away, as Gallant stood where she once had, his arms held above his head in a meager attempt to block the incoming attack.

"GRAAAH!" It hit hard, the blade easily broke Gallants block and launched him backwards, he bounced once or twice along the ground before sliding along the wet grass to a screeching halt; had that been a bug type move... he'd have been finished just like that. He slowly pulled himself to his feet with a growl, this pokémon was ridiculously strong all of a sudden... where had all this power come from? All remaining clones of the Scyther reformed into one singular entity and it spread it's wings, charging towards Gallant at breakneck speed. He prepared himself to jump aside... but he already felt his leg giving out on him, it had taken a huge strike from the slashing attack, as well as being bashed hardly along the ground as he was flung backwards.

If all else failed... he would meet an attack with an attack... but he needed assistance. This was an attack he couldn't simply dodge.

  • TahniDay One

    Tahni2_zpsjramauqe.png

    TTg_zpsm0yfww81.gif

Tahni arched her back and lowered her head in an attacking stance as the flaming Scyther turned its attention back to her. Yeah, it would be mad at her for lighting it on fire. This is good, while it's rushing towards her it will have its back to the others, they can rush it, and she can fire more embers at it as it gets closer—or that was the plan, until a sudden cry from another direction took Scyther's attention away from her. A rolling mass shot downward and smashed direction into the bug. Scyther was on the ground, her fire spin began to fade, but it had done its job: There were now enough burn marks on the giant bug to be able to tell him apart from the fakes.
"Yeah!" Tahni bounced a bit as Scyther collapsed from the impact; a rock type attack on a bug and flying type, it's a heavy hit!

Only when the Trubbish uncovered itself did Tahni realize who it was. Trey? Well, unlike with the log and the pecha berry, this fight might prove to be easier with his hurried, heat of the moment thinking. That speedy rollout could really do some damage. Tahni's ears flatten at the warning, a paw raising to cover her mouth and nose. While this is hardly the time to say it, she takes notice that Trey gave everyone a few seconds more warning this time. Maybe he learned something from the situation with Elly. This time; however, it wasn't a poison gas that the Trubbish released, but a glob of sludge. A really powerful glob of sludge, it seemed. The hit was direct, and forceful enough to knock Scyther right back onto the ground.
Trey lands right next to her, and she returns his nod with a smirk. A fire type and a poison type: This big bug doesn't stand a chance. She settles back into her attacking position as Scyther tells the duo what they're about to get.
    "Bring it on!"
Unfortunately (or fortunately) Scyther didn't get much of a chance to come at them, instead suffering a barrage of attacks from their teammates. Another rollout, a shadow punch to the gut, and King clamping his fiery fangs onto Scyther's legs for dear life. Scyther should be nothing but a pair of charred wings by now—
    So why wasn't he?
That's when he vanished, leaving Tahni stunned. What?! How?! Was…all that damage for nothing? Where's the real one?!
    "Damn it! Tahni, move!"
She heard the words, but didn't have time to register them. Where was she moving to?! It didn't matter, before she could wrap her mind around everything that was happening—she was suddenly in a different place. What the--!?
She saw Gallant beside Trey, right where she had been, his arms blocking his face as a giant scythe ripped right into him…and there he went. One smash into the ground, then another, then a steady roll into the grass.
There was no way Gallant could take another hit like that. There was no way any of them could take a hit like that—but Scyther's going too fast for any of them to be able to get to Gallant. They have to stop this fight right now, but in order to do that, they're going to need something massive. Something more massive than any of them can create.
    …On their own.
In a moment of sheer desperation, Tahni rushes back to Trey as fast as she can. "HEY! FAT HEAD! REMEMBER ME?" She calls to the Scyther as she runs. This Scyther has stopped his assault on others to come at her twice now. Maybe because she's a fire type, which makes her a threat, maybe it's because she lit him on fire, either way, she's certain he'll drop his assault on Gallant to come for her again.
Tahni leaps to Trey as the speedy Scyther rushes towards them. "I've got a plan!" She explains hurriedly to Trey. "You have to gas him. Trust me!" They only have a few seconds, Tahni braces herself for impact if they can't work fast enough. "EVERYONE, TAKE COVER!"

    TREY

Trey was shell-shocked. The Scyther they had been absolutely dominating wasn't even the real one. He had screwed up again and now Gallant was in major danger as he took the real Scyther's direct Slash attack. Tahni was thankfully saved but Gallant was in a tight spot. They had to do something or he wasn't going to survive.

That something was Tahni yelling wildly at the Scyther to come get us. With Scyther turning around and charging back at Trey and the little fire lion, Tahni yelled out, "You have to gas him. Trust me!"

Wait...did Trey hear that right? Tahni wanted him to gas the Scyther! After what happened last time? What if he poisoned someone again, what would happen then? Trey couldn't think about this though. Tahni clearly said to gas Scyther, so he must have some kind of idea of what she's doing. At least Trey hoped so....

Trey felt the tension build up again as he focused the energy inside him. The gas was building. Quickly he expelled it out of his mouth straight towards the Scyther. The purplish cloud moving quickly and engulfing the Scyther. Quickly it put its claws to its face to keep it from breathing but the attack wasn't done there, much to everyone's surprise. Tahni in that moment shot embers from its mouth, at the cloud.

"What the---!? What's Tahni doing? Doesnt he know what happens when you----?" Trey didn't get a chance to finish his thought though as the embers ignited the gas, causing a large explosion right in Scyther's face. Trey and Tahni were blown back but they held their ground as the area was immersed in smoke. The smoke was dense and made everything dark. Trey could see Tahni next to him but not much else. He thought he could see a figure that looked Scyther on the ground with not much movement, but that easily could've been Gallant. Oh no, Gallant! He was right there when the explosion happened too! It was unlikely he got out in time as he was badly wounded. What would they do without their leader? What if that figure wasn't Scyther? It'd be amazing if he survived but Scyther had surprised them before and he could've escaped. That lead to the next question where did that green bug head off to then if he did survive the attack? Or was he lurking in the smoke waiting to strike? This smoke was just so dense. Someone needed to get rid of it so Trey could get some answers.

  • Vio was impressed. Within seconds of calling for assistance, all of the pokemon that she met at the entrance of the cave quickly rushed in. First that Porygon, then that Fennekin who protected them from the falling rocks and probably the most interesting, that Gastly who seemed to literally be inside the attacking Pokemon's head. Everything was going well, especially when the Porygon hit the broken armor of the metal Pokemon with an Icy Wind and then proceeded to speed up and pelt it with Psybeam attacks. Then, out of nowhere, the large pokemon was... laughing? Vio was confused until she saw a small black and purple Pokemon run away with a green collar.

Vio didn't pay too much attention to the small Pokemon at the moment, but noticed that the large pokemon, ('I need to learn names' Vio thought to herself in the back of her mind) was chasing after the small one, albeit very slowly.
Vio wrapped a vine around the metal Pokemon's leg, and pulled, causing it to fall. Unfortunately, causing the Pokemon to fall led to one of Porygon's Psybeam attacks hitting the Gastly, effectively knocking him out. Luckily, the large, metal Pokemon wasn't too quick about getting up thanks to the onslaught of attacks. Vio quickly shifted her focus to the small Pokemon that was running away, and barely managed to catch it with a vine. The small Pokemon struggled, but ultimately gave up. Vio held on to the small Pokemon, and looked at the now risen metallic Pokemon, staying a good distance away from it since she was now holding someone. From that distance, Vio threw a constant stream of Razor Leaves, which hit the metal Pokemon. Vio hoped this battle would end soon, knowing how strenous this fight was becoming.

Once again, the events unfolded before her too quickly for her to even react. The pompous one blocked Tahni and suffered for his actions. As angry at she had been at him, she had to admit that this was impressive. Her mouth only continued to gape even wider as she saw a most unlikely turn of events. Tahni... and the stupid trash that had poisoned her... were working together?!

"What the hell...?!" She couldn't help but exclaim out loud. And this time, they had concocted a very dangerous and hairbrained scheme. She was yelling at him to USE the gas?! No, no, no, no.

    @Linear Axel

"Don't tell him to do that! It's too dan-"

But again, she was only left useless. The trash was about to erupt, and Elly decided she had had enough of just standing there like a slack-jawed imbecile. Even though she had still been angry at the Kirlia, it didn't matter. What mattered was being useful, here and now.

    @Deceptio

Whilst the others were distracted on their ensuing schemes, the Espurr opened her ears slightly more, revealing a glimpse of her glowing cores. This would be risky to let a bit more of her psychic power slip, but she could do this. She had to.

A barrier of light formed around Gallant. She wasn't sure how useful this Light Screen would be against this poison, to be honest. But there wasn't time to think, only time to do. The Espurr concentrated as much power as she could into it, feeling the insides of her ears heating up again. The energy threatened to flood outwards and the light around Gallant intensified.

She disregarded the noxious smell that had flooded her nostrils once again, ignored the weakening sensation in her body, and opened her ears even more as Tahni yelled to take cover. Elly shrieked in pain as the power continued to flood out from her, but the Light Screen had spread to encapsulate her. Her strength was leaving her quickly, but she had to hold on for whatever it was Tahni was planning.

And boy, was it a plan. A massive explosion erupted quite scarily nearby to both her and Gallant, the flames ricocheting off of her barrier as she howled even more. Some of them had made their way through the light, and struck the Espurr. She couldn't hold it much longer. Her ears snapped shut and the Light Screen immediately dissipated. Elly felt everything slip away from her in an instant.

    She collapsed.

    King the Tyrunt

    tyrunt.gif

The Scyther's double vanished, sending King clamped onto some air, flames wildly sputtering from his jaws. What the? He looked around and saw Gallant attacked by the original Scyther, the one they failed to attack. King felt stupid for putting his all in an attack against an illusion.

"You have to gas him. Trust me!" King heard Tahni shout to the little garbage boy. What? No! They all should learn by the reckless, albeit effective, attack before by Trey. Thou shall not gas no more. No no no. The explosion came off without a warning. King held his breath for as long as he could so that he could avoid inhaling toxic fumes. He saw Elly put up a Light Screen to protect Gallant from the attack. It was a, shall I say, a gallant attempt.

It proved to be too much to handle for the little Psychic-type, however. As Elly fell towards the ground, King rushed towards her in an attempt to catch her. Doing so made King inhale some of the gases. God, that's awful. King stood above Elly and tried to, carefully, bite down on the nape of her neck and carry her to safety. This little guys doing things they can't handle. King made a mental note to berate Elly afterwards. For now, he needed someone to blow the awful stench away.

He just hoped the Scyther won't attack him since he rely too much on his jaws to attack.

    Russell

Furious that he had wasted so much energy attacking a copy, Russell had immediately curled up and rolled out towards the others, only for them all to merge into one again. He circled around the team, building up speed for another attack, but the others unleashed a combination attack that had to be seen to be believed. Whether by his phase ability or simply by not being close enough, Russell manages to evade damage from the explosion. Half the team was down in some way, and a thick cloud still covered the battlefield. Without wings, they had little way to clear the air unless someone came up with something clever.

Unfortunately, the only one able to act is Russell, and clever isn't his forte. Instead he decides to just brute force the problem, rolling into one of the rivers. Though he isn't fond of water, it's the only solution he can come up with. With his back to the team, he spun in place, kicking up a spray of water and dousing the field in a fine mist. He rotates in place, the mist displacing the smoke and managing to somewhat clear the air, enough to at least make out who's who.

With that done, he slows his roll until he can unfold himself and join the others. Normally, he'd be ready to fight right away, but between all the spinning and the water in his chassis, he feels a bit dizzy, swaying slightly as he stands just off to the side.

    Shape

Shape was dancing all around the metal pokemon firing Psybeam's, even when he started moving. Shape was calculating its movements very carefully, being sure not to accidentally trip, since it was harder to move since the metal pokemon was moving. However, all of a sudden, a vine came out of nowhere and tripped the metal pokemon, sending him crashing into the ground. It was right at that moment that Shape released a Psybeam right where the metal pokemon should've been. Instead, the ray of psychic energy traveled straight into the ball of gas that was Gosu, inflicting super effective damage and instantly knocking out the pokemon.
"GOSU! I'M SO SORRY!" Shape rushed over to the Gastly, where it saw that it was pretty clear that Gosu was knocked out. Now normally, being a normal type, Shape wouldn't have been able to pick up the Gastly. However, the effects of Conversion 2 were still on, and Shape was still a water type. So Shape picked up Gosu, and quickly dashed to the location of Vio, and set him down nearby.
"SORRY, GOSU. I MUST HELP DEFEAT THIS ENEMY." Shape said, then proceded to look at the surroundings.
The metal pokemon had since gotten up from the tripping he recieved, and as impossible as it sounded, looked even angrier than before. The metal pokemon looked ready to KILL. Not just knock out, but to make sure you don't live here again. Shape had to think of something. Fast.
Surrounding the metal pokemon Shape noticed Vio again, and she was holding onto something; However, Shape couldn't see what it was. This is when Shape realized it was the only one around with free movement, aside from Davalos, who was trailing behind. Shape had to think of something before anyone got hurt.
Unfortunately, Shape had once again spent too much time thinking, as it heard a loud stomp coming from the metal pokemon. Shape looked up to see a pile of rocks coming down onto Vio. In a desperation attempt, Shape shot a gust of freezing wind from its mouth, slowing down the rocks so that it could release a direct impact Psybeam on the rocks, effectively destroying them.
Shape had to buy some time to think of a strategy to beat the colossal metal pokemon. Shape started using Agility again, and started circling the metal pokemon again while periodically releasing an Icy Wind attack to keep the metal pokemon on his heels, and more importantly, slowed. It took some circling around, but Shape finally got an idea.
"VIO, LISTEN CAREFULLY. I HAVE A PLAN TO BEAT THIS THING. I NEED YOU TO JUMP ONTO ME, THEN JUMP UP TOWARDS HIS RIGHT SHOULDER. USE YOUR VINES TO DISLODGE OTHER PIECES OF THE METAL POKEMON'S ARMOR AND RIP THEMOFF HIS BODY. CAN YOU DO THAT?" Shape asked. It slowed down to a screeching halt right in front of Vio.

    Gallant the Kirlia

As the explosion occurred, Gallant sensed the presence of another move as Elly's wall of light formed around him. The blast was incredibly powerful and the wall of light was shattered in places, causing Elly to be struck multiple times. The flames were searing him too... he couldn't take much more, the fumes from the gas explosion were assaulting him also and his fairy typing was weakening him significantly as a result.

If he fell here, then who knows what might happen. He had to withstand the attacks, the mental and spiritual assault from the special type pokémon attacks was too much. He had to find a way to resist. He had to clear his head and stay strong. The revelation hit him immediately, as if a barrier preventing him from doing so was suddenly broken... Gallant felt a sudden serenity in his mind. He saw a brief vision of pure calm, a single drop flowing into an ocean of self-belief and strength. His defenses to the assaulting special forces became suddenly stronger... his psychic powers were growing in strength. He felt a calm aura radiate throughout his mental state and it was if all of his doubts and weaknesses were flowing away.

He focused his energy into the light screen created by Elly. Helping it to maintain until the assault of energy had ended... however as the smoke from the aftermath rolled in. Elly collapsed and the light screen faded.

Gallant felt somewhat stronger. The learning and usage of calm mind had given him a certain level of enhanced strength. Through the smoke he found a clarity and with a single cry of Disarming Voice he cleared the fog of smoke once more... as he had the time before.

    ***

As the smoke cleared. The Scyther was gone. It made no sense, he should have been burned to a crisp. But there wasn't even a single remnant there. It was as if the pokémon had never existed to begin with. Gallant didn't care however, he was gone, that was all that mattered. With the removal of the blockade in the path... the creation of a bridge to this locked off sector... a safe passage to the end of the dungeon had been discovered. As such the guild was ready to move on and move out soon after.

Gallant congratulated the guild recruits after the battle. He told them that their valor would be rewarded in the future and that a sterling report would be delivered to Bronzong on the behalf of each and every one of them.

Progressing to the center of the now scorched arena, Gallant saw a subtle twinkling in the grass. He reached out and pulled a single shining shard from the ground. It looked like a fragment of a crystal, no, it was too clear... perhaps a form of glass? It didn't have a purple glow like he had originally thought, instead the colours on it seemed to alternate, a rainbow of different shades reflected upon the surface and the glow seemed to come from the light of the evening sky as it reflected through each of the multi-coloured fragments. So it would glow a different colour, depending on where the light hit it.

So this was a prism shard?

Gallant clutched it tightly and began to follow the guild members back to camp. The sun was setting... night would be upon them soon.

Gallant already knew whom he would be giving this shard to.

NOTE TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED WITH THE MAIN PLOT

There is now a time skip for your characters. You must now wait to post in the guild camp at night until the sub-plot is completed. Take this time to have your characters reflect, interact and develop. The Sub-Plot will end later today... and then once everyone has had time to do some night time posts. Act 1 will officially end!

    Side Quest 1:
    Fight on, Leafeon!

Aggron stumbled and fell, as he was barraged by attacks, in a violent rage he tossed the Gothita in his hand across the room in the general direction of the Porygon with that irritating, mechanical voice. It pissed him off, they ALL pissed him off. He just wanted to do his job and these stupid, annoying, runts had to GET IN HIS WAY!

He fumed and something in his hand began to sparkle brightly. Whatever it was however, it glowed with too bright a light in that moment to be identified. "You've REALLY done it now!" He shouted, rage flowing through his iron body. "I didn't WANT to use this. But you know, if you're gonna make an omelette, you've gotta break a few bones!" A strange aura began to flow around the Aggron, as his grimace of confusion and pain resulting from the constant attacks of the any pokémon changed back to a smile of rage and sadistic pleasure. Aggron was preparing to do something... that would make him more powerful than any other pokémon in the room could ever dream of matching.

    But something stopped him.

A low and booming voice shook the cavern with psychic energy. It was irritated and Aggron seemed to recognize it, a worried and irritable grimace spreading across his face as it spoke.

"AGGRON!" The voice was surprisingly high pitched, yet it held the authority of someone important. "What are you doing?! Why are you wasting time with these useless vermin? You think the boss doesn't know what you've been up to? He is NOT happy. You're coming back to base. Now. These sparkling abominations and their friends can be dealt with another time. For now, you need to be punished."

Aggron winced gently before growling a low and metallic screech through his gritted steel teeth. "You welps... you get off lucky this time. Next time i see any of you. I swear, I'll rip the worthless hide from your bodies. Shiny or not."

A different type of energy flowed around Aggron. A bright blue circle of psychic energies surrounded the giant steel pokémon and he began to fade away. Eventually the circle of energy collapsed in on itself... and Aggron vanished in a poof of blue, hazy energy as the circle crumbled... this mist too faded in a mere moment... and Aggron was gone. Like he hadn't even been there in the first place.

    ***

Mandel the leafeon, weakly stumbled from the back of the cave after a few moments. He was terrified during the entire ordeal... but he was finally starting to realize that thanks to the pokémon whom had rushed to his aid. He was safe.

He stumbled out towards the group and bowed his head in the deepest expression of gratitude he could muster. "Thank you... all of you." He said with a small smile.

"I think I'm going to go back to haven, I have family there who accept me for who I am. They can protect me and the people of Haven I know, will watch over me too." With a sudden expression of realization, Mandel ran to the side of the cave where his bag had fallen earlier during his run from the Aggron. Dragging it over to the group, he opened the satchel and removed a large collection of chesto berries.

"I had been collecting these from a patch of bushes I found earlier. It isn't much... but i think you guys deserve them more than I ever did." He gave a single berry to each member of the guild, before turning to walk towards the exist.

"You guys are something special, you know? Any pokémon willing to put in so much effort to protect others is worthy of all the praise I can give. Thank you again."

With that he was through the exit and gone. There were still a lot of unanswered questions about Aggron, his intentions and who the voice of the teleporting pokémon belonged to. But for now, they were safe... it was time to head back to the guild.

Hoping that the other group had been as successful, they made their way back to the camp.

NOTE TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED WITH THE SUB PLOT

Now that the sub-plot has also ended. Players must wait for a post made by Bronzong, announcing the beginning of the "night" phase. Once this has happened players may take the time to recap, develop and interact their characters with others. Once everyone is satisfied. There will be a Gallant post to end Act 1.

Then, Act 2 will be all set to begin!

    Guildmaster Bronzong

    KesgGp0.png

The sun was slowly setting, and after a long day of adventuring, squabbling and dabbling, and fighting dangerous and mysterious foes, the apprentices of the Haven Explorers Guild slowly returned to the base camp. The warm lights scattered around all the different coloured tents gave the camp a homely ambience. Just the welcoming environment the recruits needed to wind down and relax. The guildmaster had been so adamant to see the adventurers off in the morning, but now that the exploration had begun, he'd have to remain in his office for the majority of the time. Even until late at night, he would need to be present to receive member reports, create a map of the area, plan out the travel for the next day... and remain vigilant in case of emergency. Sadly this meant he wouldn't be able to interact with the apprentices much, but looking out his window he could at least see them gathering around the makeshift plaza's bonfire.

On the other side of the plaza were the commercial tents, although most of those had settled down by now. Musharna was relaxing by the warmth of the flame, while Gulpin and Klefki were still rummaging through their wares. Accelgor, much like the guildmaster, admired the fire from his dojo, but at least seemed much less tense than he did during the day already. The most well-lit tent was that of the Kricket Brothers of course - evening was the busiest time of day for them. Kricketune ran around frantically serving all customers, although despite his ever- it was clear he was enjoying himself, and even Kricketot was making himself busy taking and getting orders out. The inn cleverly extended its terrace to the logs surrounding the bonfire, allowing its bustling atmosphere to spread onto the plaza and throughout the camp.

Bronzong let out a relieved sigh, glad to have this first day pass without a hitch. He would remain to await the final recruits' reports, and shifted his position slightly to get more comfortable. There had certainly been some intriguing encounters, from a Scyther shifting in and out of existence, and an aggressive Aggron thief that had somehow escaped telepathically - but both had been impressively dealt with, especially considering the yet low skill level of most recruits. Just as he was was lost in thought about the challenges they might face tomorrow, Snubbul entered the room to bring him some supper.

    NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS
You are now free to roam the Guild Camp by night. All services are still open, though the shopkeepers may not be in the same location or act slightly differently from their daytime selves. Use this time to relax, unwind, and have your characters interact and develop. You may make as many posts during this time as you like - just make sure to end your final post with going to sleep in your tent. Dorm tents are small, tipi-like tents surrounding the back of the Guild Longtent for 1-3 Pokémon, so you can decide if you have your own or share with other characters.

    Gallant the Kirlia

Gallant walked slowly through the camp. He had a bandage wrapped tightly around his chest, oran berry past mashed beneath the fabric to heal any internal damage caused from the brutal Slash Gallant had received. The guild recruits were running around the camp... bright and active as always. Even after such a long day of work they seemed up and at the ready. Tired as they were, they still sat around the campfire and intermingled... taling, gulping down drinks from the Kricket Brothers. One pokémon however, Gallant noticed... was not with the rest of the group. Tahni the Litleo sat alone on a bench a little bit out of the way from the others. She looked distressed, mulling things over in her mind.

Gallant had left out any tattling in regards to Elly, Tahni and Trey... So what, Gallant, wondered... was the matter? He used his unique powers as a Kirlia to softly sense the young pokémons emotions. Guilt... frustration... he understood, the fireball had lead to her friend getting hurt. Perhaps she also felt some shame in how he had taken a hit for her, but due to her previous anger with him he doubted it.

Hurting others by mistake, with the best of intentions. That thought resonated with gallant fairly well.

    ...

He approached the log at a steady pace from the side.

    ***

"Music + Ambience. Play them together."

Upon sitting beside her, he said nothing. Instead he merely gazed towards the others and the fire. When he finally did speak... he did not use telepathy, but instead he spoke with his mouth. The words formed were somewhat slower in pace than those he sent by thought, the accent was somewhat stronger too. However, he was no less eloquent.

"You know... it must be nice to grow up in a pack." He began.

"Even if you dislike your life there initially... it gives you a safe and healthy source of protection and competition. Above all else, it gives you a family to go back to if all else fails. It is a home. It is security. It is community."

Gallant didn't look towards Tahni at all. Instead he continued glancing at the flames.

"There is a part of me... that pities that sort of beginning. As it would seem to me, a source of ignorance and over-protective safety." He shook his head gently and sighed.

"There is a part of me... that envies that sort of beginning. As you learn from an early age what it means to have family. What it means to prove yourself. To have resolve. To have a purpose... a reason to live."

He closed his eyes and gave a light smile.

"I was born alone... Even now, I cannot truly say I am not alone. You... I can sense it within you. You left behind those whom raised you because you wanted something more. As a Kirlia I can feel emotions, perceive intentions."

He turns his head towards her gently and allows his eyes to pierce into her with a serious gaze.

"Why did you leave Tahni? Why are you here? Was it to mope and weep in the corner over your first mistake? Or was it to become stronger? You may have done harm to your friend, but it was accidental, we all knew the risks." Gallant turned away to look back at the fire once more.

"I wish to make you all stronger... but bearing resentment towards one another, or worse, ourselves, due to misunderstandings and mistakes will only tear us apart as a team and as individuals, as pokémon." He nodded gently and finished with a single question.

"So what will you do now Tahni? Will you be strong? Or will you continue as you are?"

  • TahniDay One

    Tahni2_zpsjramauqe.png
She had been walking around since they got back to camp, figuring that the increased blood flow that comes from moving would help her think better, until now. Now her paws hurt and she's decided to sit until the aching subsides. That doesn't mean she can't keep thinking, though. She replays what happened in her mind again: Scyther was barreling towards Gallant at a speed none of them could have stopped. She was…probably the only one that could distract him long enough for Gallant to get away…maybe. She was the one he kept going back to.

The explosion was risky, but she didn't realize how risky. She told everyone to take cover before Trey even produced the gas, which gave them plenty of time…so why were so many of them caught in the blast? And the gas didn't get very far because it turned into an explosion almost instantly…so how did Elly and King still manage to breathe some in?

Well, Elly got caught in the blast because she came towards it in hopes of guarding Gallant…who Tahni really thought would have taken the chance to get out of the way once Scyther was no longer about to rip his head off. Really…her idea worked: Scyther took off (or turned to ash) after that explosion, so it was a victory, but…Elly got hurt. Almost everyone was caught in the crossfire…because they didn't trust her? They either didn't listen and decided against taking cover, or thought her plan wasn't going to work, so they had to jump in and save her and Trey.

So…what can she do to make it so the other guild members trust her? If everyone had just gotten down when she said…boom, no more Scyther, and everyone walks away unscathed (except for Gallant who was already scathed). Should she feel bad about that? She didn't really think so. She didn't ask him to use ally switch, and…if it really came down to it; if that was Elly or Davalos in her situation, she would have taken the fit for them. That's just what you do in a team. Gallant's stronger, he could take more damage, so he took the hit. It's just how things should work in this kind of dynamic.

…And speak of the Giratina, there he is. He didn't have that same holier than thou air about him that he had during the mission, so she doubts he's here to brag about not telling Bronzong what happened between the cats and Trey, although; there's a part of her that wished he did. She would have liked to have seen the logical Bronzong laugh and say that being angry after getting poisoned is natural, and if Elly wasn't mad he would be concerned. Man…Elly's going to be so mad at her. That's a bummer, she kind of felt like she was making a friend in Elly.

Oh, Gallant's talking. Her ears perk upward as he speaks…about a pack? Was he talking to her? "Pride." She quickly corrects. "Mightyena and Manectrichave packs. Luxrays and Pyroars have prides." Maybe it's a petty thing to correct someone on, but it's an important distinction for her. Aaand he's still talking. You cannot get this guy to stop once he starts, huh?

The things he's saying are…kind of right. Although she doubted she would be welcomed back if she tried to return to the pride. It was a community, though, and the third thing he said was really on the dot. Resolve, purpose, she had those to spare because of the way she grew up.

Perceive intentions. So he doesn't know them, he can just have an educated guess. That makes a lot of sense, after the way he spouted off to her and Elly, accusing them of doing things for reasons that weren't all the way correct. He turns to her, and she catches his eye. Why did she leave her home? "I left because the pride's leader was a jerk." She explains calmly. "And he treated me like dirt for being female." She wanted to rise in the ranks, be stronger, take over as leader when his time was up, but that couldn't happen. Her position in that pack was stationary due to her gender. "And I'm here because I can do things here I couldn't back home."

She can tell he's not really asking these questions, he's saying these things to make her think, but what he wants her to realize she already knows: She can't mope forever. Come tomorrow they're going to move on from this place, and when that happens she's got to move on from that fight. Tahni stands and walks towards the fire, tossing another log into the flames with her teeth in order to keep it from dying out. "I want to be a leader." She speaks, maybe a little more strongly than she intended. "A good one." There's a difference. "And to be a good leader I need to learn from my mistakes, which means I can't brush them off and forget they happened. I need to think about what went wrong, and learn how I can do better."

So, is she moping? Yes. Is she senselessly moping? No, at least, she doesn't think so. Is she drowning in self-pity? No, she's using her moping to better herself. Her own intense eyes look up to Gallant again. "I'm already strong." Willed, anyway. "And I'm going to get stronger."

    Gosu the Gastly

Gosu sat, well metaphorically of course, near the bonfire. The light from the fire caught in his gaseous outsides and made him appear to glow bright purple. It had been a rough day for him, he was the only member of the camp that had to go to the infirmary twice on one exploration.

"There will always be more explorations." He mumbled to himself while watching the flames flicker back and forth.

He knew that of course, but somehow he was still in a foul mood. It had less to do with the fact that he had been taken to the infirmary, but moreso with the fact that the reason he had been taken to the infirmary was friendly fire. Well technically, it had been because he was too focused on the Aggron to dodge the Porygons attack, but nevertheless.

Gosu sighed and bobbed around above the log whilst thinking to himself.

He would have to use his confuse ray attack sparingly untill he could find a way to use it without having to actually go inside the enemy's heads...

A conversation from not too far away caught his attention, it seemed that Gallant was giving Tahni a speech of some sort. Gosu listened in for a moment, but quickly found that nothing of importance was being said. He turned his attention elsewhere, where he noticed a familiar face.

    @Infinite:
"Bring me some Oran juices, with a pinch of Pecha! Extra large, would ya?" The Spinda had yelled.

"Tall order for someone of your size." Gosu commented as he floated closer. "I'll have what he's having." Gosu called out as the Kricket Pokemon argued in the background.

"Say, you didn't bump into me earlier by chance did you? Things got a bit frantic otherwise I would have scolded you then and there." Gosu chuckled.

"Not that I'm going to scold you now. Far too late. Just be glad you weren't poisoned by my lovely outer existance. Although judging from you're order, you probably had too many berries in your bloodstream for that to matter." Gosu continued, seemingly forgetting that he was speaking to someone who could possibly wish to reply.

    Gallant the Kirlia

"Music + Ambience. Play them together."

"A leader... and a strong one too." He chuckles gently and gives a light smile. "Is that right?"

He stands for the log and meets her gaze. He senses her own self justification in her moping, he knows she isn't wrong... but he also knows that there's more to it than that.

"You are strong yes. In power. However, a leader is stronger in many more ways than just this... even if moping brings betterment upon yourself, you cannot allow it. At least not in company. If a leader appears weakened then the team crumbles." He gives her a somewhat peaceful grin.

"But one step at a time... you have right to mull things over after today." His face turns a little more serious. "I am not your pride leader. I don't care what gender you are or what you're 'supposed' to do. What I am, however, is your teacher... and as your teacher I feel it is prudent to tell you." He places his hand on the log for a moment.

"You have potential. I expect you to harness it... and while you mightn't be your biggest fan. Turning to me is an option in times of need... or merely times of want, should you desire any form of guidance."

He removed his hand from the log and began to walk away, returning to speaking to her through telepathy rather than spoken word.

"Leaders are leaders... you needn't be one yet. Let your burden go. That is how you will become stronger in more ways than just power."

As Gallant was out of sight, the place where he had put his hand upon the log was twinkling softly... and upon further inspection Tahni would find a piece of glass that shone brightly in every shade of the rainbow. The Prism Shard.

    ***

Gallant plopped himself down onto one of the bar stools beside the stool Gosu was... floating over he guessed. He was tired, injured and very, very thirsty. So one could say that yes, he really needed a drink.

Kricketot very slowly waddled over to where Gallant set at the bar and lazily took out a notepad and pencil.

"sup Galla." He said plainly. "You look terrible. What can i get ya?"

"Kricketot..." Gallant knew this pokémon quite well from his constant visits to check up on Tyke the Joltik. He always stopped for a drink in the guild bar, restaurant and lodging before he left... he and the Kricket brothers had grown to be friends over these interactions.

"Just give me something strong. You got any Colbur berries?" Gallant asked but Kricketot just shook his head sadly. "Bro said they were too niche. Stopped stocking them... wanted to spend the money on, like, pasta supplies I think he said? Something like that. My bro's gonna be a chef... he's a pretty cool guy."

Gallant frowned. "Well a plate of ravioli isn't gonna take the edge off... you got anything that might suit my typing Tot?" The small and rotund pokémon scratched his head for a moment with his feeler. "You got fairy in you right? We got some Kebia berries in stock. Real nice acidic kick for those who really hate poisons in their system... Not a fan myself but you might like it." Gallant gave a small nod and waved Kricketot away to signal his approval.

"Yo Tunes. Got an order here. Kebia brew, cold, a single chunk of the berry wedged on the side and a little bit of pecha zest for an added kick."

"WHA?! GALLANT IS HERE?! OH. WAIT. YES I DO REMEMBER HIM BEING ON THIS TRIP AND- HEY WAIT A MINUTE?! AREN'T YOU ALREADY FULFILLING AN ORDER?!"

"Oh yeah. Sorry bro. Here you go kid. Two extra large oran juices, pecha zested, Tot tested. Hehehe... sorry, that was terrible... hope I'm not bugging you with my word play."

    "TOT NO!"

"Heh, sorry bro... don't beautifly off the handle."

    "TOT STOP!"

    "Okay... okay..."

Kricketot proceeded to place two large blue drinks on the table in front of hash the Spinda, each had a small sprinkling of pink dust on top... Gallant preferred more exotic drinks, but he couldn't fault the appeal of the classics.

Eventually his own drink arrived, it was a very dark green hue and he had similar speckles of pink dusted across the top layer. There was a single light green chunk of berry stuck on the side and he popped it into his mouth greedily before proceeding to take a few silent sips.

"Better already." He said to himself.
