    ROCKETS... RISING

    [ PLOT ]

Times are strange in Johto. Since the defeat of Team Rocket in Kanto, 6 years ago, the hero Red from Pallet Town who drove them away has been gone. Three years ago, the remnants of the crime organisation tried to rise to power in Johto instead, but was beaten down by a new hero, Gold from New Bark Town. Gold set off to find Red, but hasn't been seen since. There is a rumor saying that real heroes in Kanto and Johto are destined to disappear after their deeds, to make way for new ones. But can they never come back again? This would be a good time.

The Rockets have been spotted around Johto once again. They started by making grunts pull of small pesky criminal jobs, but then they rose. Now they have taken over the Radio Tower in Goldenrod just like they did 3 years ago, only this time they are more clever and infiltrating, sending propaganda broadcasts all over the region. And that's not all. Some gym leaders in Johto are said to be corrupt and work for the shady Team Rocket, helping them move stolen pokémon, money and goods through their towns, as well as coordinating some of the operations near their town.

Who is the overlord of Team Rocket this time? Can it be someone you'd least expect again? The horror... many citizens of Johto are living in fear nowadays, not knowing who to trust. The only ones who are taking a firm stand against Team Rocket are the people at the Indigo Plateau Town, along with their leaders the Elite 4. They are hoping that Red, Gold and other daring trainers are still out there and will respond to their call for a rebellion before everything is lost under Team Rocket's control. Unlike most other cities, they aren't corrupt... yet.

    [ The Gym Leaders ]

There are 8 gym leaders around Johto. But it's not clear who's on what side anymore. YOU are one of them. You get to choose what town you want to be a leader of, and what pokémon type you want to govern. Then you get to pick a team of four main pokémon of your type. The gym leaders along with the Elite 4 at Indigo Plateau are what make up the Indigo Association, the organ that rules Johto (and Kanto). This means that by being the gym leader of a town, you function as that town's mayor. Towns without gym leaders have mayors of their own.

You can either play as a corrupt gym leader, receiving a hefty payment from Team Rocket in exchange for helping them out and even leading some of their activities. You will have an arsenal of grunts under your lead, and they will have pokémon of your gym's type. You will be in contact with Team Rocket's leader, but you won't know his identity or where the headquarters lie. Your main mission will be to try and take over the towns and areas that aren't under Rocket control.

Or you can play as one of the good leaders. You will be in contact with the Elite 4 at the Indigo Plateau. Although the Elite 4 are powerful, they don't want to expose themselves too much, as they are main targets for Team Rocket, already having been assaulted several times when out in the countries. As a gym leader, you will have an arsenal of young trainers from your town who want to help you. They will employ pokémon of your type AND pokémon from around your town. Be careful though, you wouldn't want to send innocent kids and teenagers into just any kind of fight... Your main mission will be to try and take back the towns and areas that are under Rocket control.

    [ Rules ]

1 - This is rated T, which means you shouldn't let pokémon and people's limbs be torn off in a very graphical way... but people can indeed get hurt. Also, romance is ok as long as it's not a lot of posts forth and back about nuzzling.

2 - You'll have a few Rocket grunts/young trainers following you at the start and you can (should) recruit more somehow. You can send them off to defend things, do missions etc. They can't have any fully evolved pokémon. This means, pokémon that only evolve once must be in their first form and pokémon that evolve twice can be in their second form. Pokémon that don't evolve at all are allowed, though. From all 5 regions. Uh, you can just make them up as you go along, though.

3 - Your own team of 4 pokémon can be ANY non-legendary pokémon (all 5 regions) of your chosen type. Levels don't matter, your pokémon can have creative and strong moves if you like. It's like in the anime. Aaaand one of them can be shiny, if you want to.

4 - Do. Not. Powerplay. With that I mean, you can't win every battle. Try to make as interesting fights as possible. Sometimes defeats might lead to a more interesting story. AND when throwing an attack towards another player, DO NOT WRITE ABOUT IT HITTING. It's up to the other player to decide what happens. Here too, don't go overboard with the dodging.

5 - On top of every post, write whom the post is about and their location at the start of the post. Exceptions can be battling posts. For instance:

Gym Leader Chinika, Ecruteak City gym

6 - Even though battles are anime-style, the games are canon here. There isn't a "nurse Joy" or "officer Jenny", there are real nurses and police. And the Elite 4 consists of Lance (dragon), Lorelei (ice), Karen (dark) and Will (psychic). The current champion is still Gold, but he is reported missing.

7 - I take no reservations on Sign Ups. If you want in, take your time and post a nice SU, and in a few days I'll review and if there are more than 7 (!) people who have signed up, I'll chose the most interesting ones :3 You can, however, state what type and city you'd like and hope that the next posters are kind enough to pick something else.

  • You posted another RP? -.-'
Well, as reservations don't matter, i'm just going to save this post for my SU, so i'll have it here tonight or tommorow.
If it matters anything to you (but since this is considered reserving, it doesn't ;3) I wish to be a Good, Normal-Type gym leader in uh..., Goldenrod City I guess (how original)

Edit: Meh, almost done, except for History. It's mainly a copy&paste from Begin, Again. I'm also having second thoughts about using Kris...whatever, after this RP i'll start using more of a variety of characters :3

    Edit2: Done. :3

Yes, this was what finally spawned from my itch to RP in Johto, when I realized how difficult the wizard thing would be to manage :D

Oh, it probably won't hurt to state what you wish to be, since others can be nice and pick something different then ^^

  • Hey there everyone. I'd like to reserve the Electric type, and Mahogany Town. SU soon, but reserving first cause I was told it's rude otherwise.

    Name: Ray
    Gender: Male
    Age: 33
    Chosen City: Mahogany
City Situation: The once quiet, serene town of Mahogany has been transformed by the questionable ethics of their new Leader. The town is surrounds by a stone wall, which is surrounded by a large metal fence. "Volunteers" patrol the walls, while most of the residents merely wish to be left in peace. While most disagree with Team Rocket, a few believe in their cause. Among them is the Leader, who will be Leader of Rocket one day!
    Allegiance: TR

Appearance: A tall man with pale skin, Ray's hair is dark brown, but starting to turn grey at the sides. His eyes are brown, but due to the large sunglasses he always wears, few people see them. He wears heavy black combat boots and camoflage B.D.U. pants, with a tan belt where he keeps his Pokeballs. He wears a red scrub shirt and white lab coat, with a single yellow welding glove on his left hand. Despite his height, Ray is quite thin, with a thin face and sharp nose. His hair is usually slightly messed, as he doesn't bother to style it and just leaves it as is.

Personality: Ray acts in a tough, but fair manner. He rules his town with a military precision, protecting his people frpom the dangers of Team Rocket. He is a little paranoid, worried about both Rocket attacks and Trainer who would take advantage of the chaos. He joined Team Rocket with the secret goal of rising to the top rank, where he would rule the company with an iron fist to protect the people of the land. He is quite creative, always trying to find new ways to solve problems, such as building a fence to protect the wall surrouunding his city.

The people of Mahogany believe him to be crazy, but realise that he does what he does to protect them. Ray cares for people, but has a harsh attitude, treating his grunts as lowly minions. He treats his Pokemon as his children, mostly since he raised them all from the Egg stage. His pride refuses to let him give up, but also makes him abrasive towards his superiors and peers.

Background: Born in Cerulean, Ray saw Pokemon and trainers come and go. He became a police officer, where he would regularly have to deal with Team Rocket or Rocket wannabe's. At first he thought of them as harmless, espescially with the police running things, but eventually became frustrated by their constant menace. He joined a task force led by the Lieutenant, a man named Surge. Lt. Surge happened to be a Gym Leader, and the tenacity and skill inspired Ray to train his own Pokemon.

As a former police officer in his late 20's, Ray thought that raising Pokemon would be easy, seeing as most trainers were children. He traveled from regin to region, honing his skills and finding his preferences. When he heard of Team Rocket's downfall, he returned home, curious how the nation had changed. He found he preferred the country of Johto, and moved there with his team. When Team Rockjet reappeared, he tried to recruit a group of trainers to help him fight back. This project didn't go far. Most of the missions barely got past the planning stage, and the Rockets were soon defeated by a young boy.

Ray's group disbanded, and he moved to the idyllic town of Mahogany. He befriended the Gym Leader Pryce, and did maintenace at the Gym, keeping the place running. When Pryce retired, he left the Gym to Ray, since Ray was the only one the old man saw regularly enough to trust. Ray found the life of a Leader new and exciting, but his dark past caught up with him when an agent of Team Rocket appeared, attempting to recruit him. Having a new view on life, and operating under a "if you can't beat them, join them" mindset, Ray accepted. Put in charge of manufacturing energy, (due to Ray's type specialty and proximity to water) he soon became disillusioned with the quality of leadership. He vowed that he would lead the company, and secretly began his plans to find and overthrow "The Boss".
    Type: Electric
    Pokémon team:

    - Pokémon 1 Magnezone
    Nickname: Shockwave
    Gender: None
Info: The offspring of Ray's first Pokemon, Shockwave traveled with Ray throughout the world, including a three-month vacation at Mt. Coronet. Shockwave is Ray's right-hand 'Mon, his most trusted advisor, and strongest battler. Shockwave has a calm and calculated personality, using his head to win fights and work on projects with his wild and emotional master.

    - Pokémon 2 Electabuzz
    Nickname: Thunderpunch
    Gender: Male
Info: An old couple at a Day-Care gave Ray an egg for stopping by one day, which hatched an exciteable Elekid. Ray found it to be headstrong and a bit dense, but loyal and powerful. Ray raised young Elekid well, and was rewarded when he evolved. Thunderpunch powers much of Mahogany, either directly or through batteries full of his immense electrical charge. Quick and direct, Thunderpunch is used mainly as muscle.

    - Pokémon 3 Pachirisu
    Nickname: Spark
    Gender: Female
Info: Spark is the mascot for Ray's Gym, an attempt to show people his lighter and softer side. However, she also trains the recruits in the Gym, proving to be a cold and nasty drill sergeant. She has little patience, and often yells at Pokemon who do poorly, while the trainers, being unable to understand her, merely think she is playful. Her speed and ferocity are useful tools in battle, leading Ray to issue Pachirisu to all of his grunts. Most are less than pleased.

    - Pokémon 4 Emolga
    Nickname: Static
    Gender: Female
Info: While traveling through the Unova region, Ray spent a month living with a woman while her house was buried in the snow. They traded eggs with each other at one point, since there was little else to do. Static is a bit of a trump card, being immune to Electricity's only weakness. A lazy and laid-back Pokemon, she is either the first or last choice in Ray's arsenal, depending on how he's feeling at the time.

The squirrels! They're in the trees! And they serve as perfect scouts and spies!

    ...Mahogany.

Godzil, you should have electric type pokémon only. Second types are very ok, but non-electric aren't. Like Mismagius.

    I'm interested. :)

    Name:
    Ralph
    Gender: Male
    Age: 23
    Chosen City: Blackthorn City

City Situation: Blackthorn City's citizens don't know what to believe. Some feel the town is secretly under control of Team Rocket. Others believe it is still with the Indigo Association. In reality, it is more of a grey zone, but Ralph plans to ally with the Pokemon Association.

Appearance: Ralph stands at 6 feet tall. He has black, long hair, which he ties in a ponytail. His eyes are dark brown, so dark, in fact, that they almost look black. He is of normal weight, neither skinny nor overweight.

Ralph wears a custom suit he had personally designed for him. Made of fine material, the suit comes with a white collared shirt, a black tie, black dress slacks, and a black dress jacket. His attire makes him look somewhat like a crime boss, which is a reason some believe he is with Team Rocket.

Personality: Ralph is quiet. Never one to begin a conversation unless necessary, Ralph prefers to keep to himself than to be in groups. He rarely speaks his entire mind, unless the situation calls for it. Ralph despises those who are overly loud, and those who are overly emotional. Crying specifically gets on his nerves. He has been called uncaring, even some say heartless, but that is because most don't know with what others words to describe him. He masks his emotions so well that he appears not to care much for anything. In reality, he believes emotion is a weakness that can be exploited, and Ralph doesn't like being exploited. Ralph is not quick to trust, and believes others aren't as well, so he does his best to gain the trust of those he needs it from. He views respect in the same manner.

There is also a face which he wears in the company of his Pokemon, which is a bit more relaxed and open.

Ralph's sole intent is to perform his duties with the utmost quality. He is less concerned with the affiliation of his town as much as he is with the continuing operation of it.

Ralph is a hard worker. He never gives up, not even when things look impossible. He is very determined in this sense.

Background: Ralph was born in Goldenrod City. Like many others, he planned to begin his Pokemon journey around age 10. But he never was able to acquire a Pokemon. One day, while exploring the underground of Goldenrod, he bumped into an injured Sneasel. He took it to the Pokemon Center, where it was healed. From this Sneasel, Ralph learned his principle of trust and mistrust, respect and disrespect as Sneasel, in the beginning, was not quick to make friends with Ralph. Ralph had learned more from this Sneasel than he had with any human. It was on Sneasel's principles that he based his own.

Nevertheless, Sneasel became his first Pokemon, and Ralph began his journey. Going from town to town, Ralph endured many hardships, including losing many battles in gyms. However, something else was shared by Sneasel and him: their desire never to give up. Through training and trying, Ralph and Sneasel would advance, becoming better and better with each passing day. Though he gained other partners, Sneasel remained his closest and truest friend.

After a long time, Ralph had done what he set out to do: collect all badges. With the position of Champion in mind, Ralph headed for the Indigo Plateau. Through the hard road of victory road, Ralph showed his hard work and determination every day. Finally, he reached the Pokemon League. He fought hard alongside his Pokemon, but came up short and lost. It was at this moment that he realized he had truly set out to do what he wanted. He didn't want to become Champion, he wanted to prove that with hard work and determination, you can become Champion. Satisfied, Ralph returned back home, believing his Pokemon journey was complete.

Back in Goldenrod with his family, Ralph felt out of place. Sure, he enjoyed an occasional battle or two, but it wasn't the same as fighting out in the great places of Johto. Ralph decided to go out on another Pokemon quest, one not with any goal in mind. He just knew there was something else out there for him.

On this second adventure, Ralph visited previous places he had been to. He arrived one day back in Blackthorn City, where he had faced his final gym leader last time. It was one of the hardest battles he had ever fought. Upon the door, he saw a resignation letter, apparently, the old gym leader had resigned, and the town was looking for a new gym leader. At that moment, something awoke in Ralph. He felt he knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to become a gym leader. He would get to battle every day, train every day constantly keeping up with the demands of trainers, and he would get to govern and help run the town. Ralph became the new gym leader of Blackthorn City three months ago, and now tries to manages the task of gaining the citizen's trust, governing the town, running the gym, and training his Pokemon. Ralph's new life is hard, but Ralph has never been happier in his life (although you couldn't tell from looking at him).

Now, Ralph tries to achieve some degree of trust with the city, as well as review pressure from the Association and Team Rocket to decide which to join. Although he leans toward the former, he would not make a decision until he first ensure his town's trust, respect, and security.

    Type: Dark

    Pokémon team:

    - Pokémon 1: Sneasel
    Gender: Male
Info: Sneasel was Ralph's first Pokemon, and his hardest to understand, train, and get to obey. Abandoned, Sneasel has the personality similar to Ralph's. He doesn't trust easily, and demands respect, and rarely gives it. He slashed up Ralph quite a bit before he began to trust him. Through thick and thin, Ralph and Sneasel made it to where they are today, and Sneasel couldn't be happier.

    - Pokémon 2 Houndoom
    Gender: Male
Info: Houndoom was Ralph's second Pokemon caught. Very loud and full of energy, Houndoom is almost an opposite of the reserved, no-emotion Ralph.

    - Pokémon 3 Honchrow
    Gender: Male
Info: Honchrow was the third Pokemon Ralph had accepted into his party. Honchrow is tough as nails, and reflect's Ralph's determinant personality.

    - Pokémon 4 Zweilous
    Gender: Male
    Info:
Ralph had no idea what kind of Pokemon this one was when he first found him as a Deino outside of Blackthorn City. He had to travel briefly to another region to get some more information. Ralph accepted the strange Pokemon into his group nonetheless, and train him. Zweilous is naturally violent, often holding nothing back in a battle. Although Ralph likes it this way, he often leaves a lot of wreckage after he battles.

(Let me know if I did anything wrong. :) )

Oh dear, I forgot to add the most important part to the SU form ^^; Whether you're with TR or the Indigo Association!

But one of you wants to be grey and another one wants to go undercover... hmm. I was planning to let the 20 grunts/trainers be like chess pieces; if you move out of town for a mission with 15 grunts and leave only 5 to defend the town, someone else could come to your town with 15 trainers of their own and probably have luck with fighting the grunts before you came back. So you'd have to be strategic.

But if more people want to be grey or sneaky, then maybe we can skip the grunts/trainers part and just say that if TR believes you to be with them, they can give you whatever number of grunts to command. And if trainers around town believe you are on IA's side, they will follow you. So if you say you are with TR but make people believe you are with IA, you can have both trainers and grunts to help you.

    What do you guys think?

That can work. I for one (If I am accepted) would actually have my character join the IA in a bit.

I like the chess idea, though. It really seems interesting.

Hmmm. I'll think some more about it. In the meantime, make sure to include some kind of allegiance or opinion in your SUs, people.

  • Not to nitpick, but taking troops to attack while leaving others to defend isn't chess, it's Risk. And I clearly stated that I'm a member of Team Rocket. I just think that if I were leader, things would be better. The "Starscream" mentality, basically.

  • Name: Jack

    Gender: Male

    Age: 25

    Chosen City: Cianwood City

City Situation: The citizens of Cianwood know that they live in a place with no allegiance to Team Rocket and are confident that they are far enough away from the other cities in Johto to be influenced something that they hope their gym leader will uphold. Jack assures everyone that Cianwood is associated with Indigo Association and reassures them that this will never change

Appearance: Medium height, around 5 ft 10 in with lightly tanned skin and is of a muscular build weighing nearly 145 pounds. He has low dark black hair styled in a fauxhawk and a neatly trimmed goatee. Orlanda has jade colored eyes and a small jade gemstone earing in his left ear.Clothing wise he wears a black sleeveless hoodie with a J printed on the top left hand corner of the front. This is over a plain white long sleeve shirt. He wears black neatly fitted jeans and plain black and white lowtops. In warmer weather he removes the hoodie and roles up the sleeves of his white shirt. He also carries around a white backpack.

Personality: Jack is a relaxed sort of person who is lackadaisical but driven for success. He is very protective to the ones he loves, standing up for them in the face of danger and thats a trait that has rubbed off on his pokemon. Jack has a calm temper and is not easily upset. Jack likes seeing and participating in interesting and tough battles but will often shy away from opponents that he deems way below his level. Although he is a relaxed person something that always makes his blood boil is seeing the mistreating of pokemon. Jack is a person who cannot strive around people who act childish as he says "I have put away childish things along time ago."

Whenever a challenge arises Jack will always try his hardest to get through it and knowing that people are counting on him will always push him even further. Its that sort of attitude that make him loved around Cianwood by the adults and admired by children and his young trainers.

Background: Born and raised in a little town near to Cherrygrove City called Astonvaile before moving Cianwood soon after.. Lived with his Mother, a pokemon photographer, and his Father, a pokemon researcher and one of Professor Elm aids, he always was around pokemon even from a young age. At the age of 5 he went with his mother to help her find some rare pokemon to photograph it was here that Jamie saw his first legendary pokemon, Suicune. Despite his mother not seeing the Suicune and saying that Jack was imagining things, Jack credited that as the moment he first wanted to get a pokemon and travel the world so that he could see that pokemon again. At age 7 he watched his first pokemon tournament and saw the excitement of battling up close. Jack credits those two moments in his life as what inspires him to have wanted to become a trainer and a good one.

Jack started his journey when his father handed a rare pokemon that could not even be found in Johto, a Druddigon, which he renamed Warrior. During his journey he traveled for a long time to many places and eventually got tired of searching for trainers to battle with and eventually went back home with his laziness getting the better of him. When the old gym leader decided that he was too old to continue with being the towns gym leader he went to Jack one of the few sucessful trainers who was raised in the town to take up the mantle of gym leader. Jack was honored and saw this as an opportunity to make the strong trainers come to him for once.

Jack had the backing of everyone in town and the love and support of all of the Cianwood City residents. Jack knew that you had to be an elite trainer to be a gym leader and thought that he had accomplished something special when he was appointed gym leader.

    Type: Dragon

    - Pokémon 1 Druddigon
    Nickname: Warrior
    Gender: Male
Info: He was given to him by his father before he left off for his adventure and he quickly lived up to his name even from day one of his adventure proving that he is truly a warrior. On countless time Warrior has proved to be his strongest fighter and Jack trust him with anything even more than he trust any friend or family. He is also cherished even more by Jack who knows that no matter how strong Warrior becomes that he will still be the same pokemon that he traveled with from day one because Druddigon is the only dragon pokemon that dosen't evolve.

    - Pokémon 2 Dragonair
    Nickname: Protector
    Gender: Male
Info: The first pokemon Jack caught and was caught more for his beauty as a dratini than for battling but his all changed when he evolved and proved to be a strong and diverse battler.

    - Pokémon 3 Shelgon
    Nickname: Brave
    Gender: Male

    - Pokémon 4 Garchomp
    Nickname: Sandstorm
    Gender: Male

  • OOC: Well, it should have been obvious as to which leader I would sign-up for o.o' I've always wanted to be an Ice Gym leader :3 I wasn't sure if the name needed to have some witty origin or not, so I named him Kelvin just in case. If no witty origin is needed and infact discouraged, then the name will be changed to Kevin. And as you can see, I've only just started. I have about half the personality and that's it. I'll gradually update as I work.

Edit 1: Expect to see a lot of these. I take my time. I finished the personality.

Edit 2: Added Background and Pokemon Info.

    Name: Kelvin

    Gender: Male

    Age: 22

    Chosen City: Olivine City

City Situation: Knowing Kelvin's nature, the citizens have no doubt that their town is safe from Team Rocket. Kelvin is too irresponsible to be of use and he wouldn't put them in that kind of danger anyways.

Gym Leader's Thoughts: He's played neutral for a while now, but having such a popular port in the city has made him a target by both sides. Soon he might have to decide between doing what's right and what could be best for developing the city. He also has a personal beef with IA's Lorelei and joining TR would give him the perfect excuse for a rematch.

Appearance: Kelvin stands at a slightly above average height of 5'8"with an average build containing no significant mass of muscles. His naturally black eyes are colored blue from his contacts and his black hair is gelled back. Kelvin has absolutely no sense of style so as long his hair is out of his eyes, it's all good. His face is far from perfect and dotted with black freckles, but other than that he has no significant marks.

Kelvin's attire just consists of what he's accustomed to from his travels. He wears nice and loose kahki shorts paired with a white collared shirt. On his feet he usually wears sandals, flip-flops, or some other kind of shoe that lets his feet breath. Spending a great deal of time on the beach, has also given him the need to adapt. As such he usually wears sunglasses and a dollop of sunscreen on his nose to show that he's protected. Often it's his appearance that has people wondering if he's really an ice trainer let alone a gym leader.

Personality: Kelvin was one of the least likely applicants to receive the position as he is often labeled as indecisive and irresponsible. He always stalls till the last minute when making major choices and often shirks his duties as leader out of sheer carelessness. When confronted he also becomes quite submissive and often finds himself giving way. In public his demeanor is even criticized as being too lax and often the citizens complain about him spending too much time lounging on the beach. However, despite his faults, one could also say that at least he cares. Kelvin constantly frets about every little matter and how he just can't seem to improve. His delay of action is also semi-productive in that he sincerely ponders the most opportune for both him and the citizens of the city. He loves to mingle with the citizens even if he's consciously aware of their feelings and he treats each of them with respect in return for his fallibilities. It is this genuine sincerity that the citizens laud him for and thus allow him to continue being leader despite his many failures.

On the battlefield, he improves slightly. By strapping a block of ice on his head to mentally psyche himself in a goofy fashion, he becomes rasher yet somehow still just as stuck in his own thoughts. The ice also calms him down, allowing him to focus better and it makes him feel more professional like Chuck or Pryce who both train under waterfalls. His style of battle often relies on quick early jabs to catch the opponent off-guard and then a solid freezing. When he fails, which he usually does, it's usually his attentiveness to details that saves his butt in the end. It is more so his prowess of using the landscape to his advantage rather than his "strike and freeze" method that has given him the qualifications of being Olivine City's gym leader.

Background: Kelvin grew up in small and boring Azalea Town as the older of two children. Unlike most kids who could leave the rural area at age ten, he was detained because his mother wanted him to travel with his younger brother who was seven at the time. Two years later his parents divorced and each parent kept one of the kids. With his father's permission, he left Azalea Town at age twelve with a tinge of regret. His starter Pokemon was a bubbly Seel who time and time again would be needed to lift his spirits.

Kelvin spent most of his first year as a Pokemon Trainer wandering the region between Goldenrod and Olivine City. The rest of the cities were deemed too small for this young man who wanted to leave the country life. However, every now and then he would still make a trip back to Azalea Town to visit his younger brother and give him a souvenir. His abilities as a trainer were limited because he refused to train bug Pokemon that populate the area around National Park that reminded him of a certain gym leader of his hometown. During the early time spent traveling, he would also meet a variety of celebrities giving autographs and detailed accounts of their experiences. Soon he would tell his younger brother these stories and claim them as his own.

Kelvin did not become serious in his endeavors to become a Pokemon trainer until well after his thirteenth birthday. His younger brother had finally reached the appropriate age for becoming a Pokemon trainer and decided to meet his brother up in Olivine City. Having exaggerated a little about his experiences, Kelvin was in a predicament when his brother asked to see him win a battle with his fearsome Seel. And so he found himself challenging the Olivine City Gym Leader, Jasmine, in his first truly official match with his brother watching. Fortunately for him though, Jasmine decided to spare his pride and allowed him to win the match and receive a mineral badge. After winning, he got so cocky that he valiantly claimed the Championship as his own and thus he began his badge hunt.

Of course Kelvin still lacked the necessary skills to obtain these badges since Jasmine had gone easy on him. It was because of this that his first actual gym battle in Cianwood ended relatively short with his inevitable loss. It took him three years in total to actually collect all of the badges with most of the time being spent on training. His Pokemon, unlike a few years ago, were now adequately prepared and his Seel had even evolved into a Dewgong. Like he had promised, the next step was to challenge the Elite 4 where he suffered the most fatal blow. In a decisive match against Lorelei, his Dewgong lost to hers.

It was that fated battle that motivated him to give all of his Pokemon to his brother, who by now had fallen in love with Pokemon contests, and focus on training solely his Dewgong and soon the entire set of Ice types. He trained for well over a year by himself in the Whirl Islands where at least the beaches there reminded him of happy days spent in bustling Olivine City. When he could no longer go without the excitement of the big cities, he went back to Olivine City out of homesickness. It was then that he confronted Jasmine again about his win that he shouldn't have deserved. To make up for it, she gave him one last gym battle to officially win a mineral badge. After the match, she also gave him an internship at the gym that would help with his training. His skills as a trainer greatly improved under her command and it is because of her that he got into the habit of wearing a block of ice on his head. When the time came for Jasmine to retire, she entrusted the gym to Kelvin.

    Type: Ice

    Pokémon team:

    - Pokémon 1 Dewgong
    Nickname: Dewey
    Gender: Male
Info: Dewey was Kelvin's starter pokemon and having been with him for ten years, is easily his strongest Pokemon. Dewey is in general over supportive and will cheer for Kelvin even when he fails. He is also the clown of the team and often goofs up.

    - Pokémon 4 Delibird
    Nickname: Mitch
    Gender: Male
Info: Mitch was a Delibird in the delivery buisness. While he was delivering mail to the Whirl Islands, he got lost and met Kelvin. When Kelvin tried to return him, the post office gladly refused the Delibird and Kelvin kept him. Mitch is a bit of an oddball who believes that he's always living in a war. As such he dawns a militant lifestyle and strut. If he catches Kelvin being stupid, he'll gladly show his master the stick.

    - Pokémon 3 Froslass

    Nickname: Lory
    Gender: Female
Info: Kelvin caught her as a Snorunt while on an expedition in the Shoal Caves to capture more Pokemon for the gym. She is named after an ex-girlfriend of Kelvin's of whom Lory reminds him of. Her personality balances out his and he personally keeps her on the team because he feels that she makes him a better person. Lory is always serious and harsh. Whenever Kelvin slacks off, she often hits him with a wakeupslap to get him back to work.

    - Pokémon 4 Cubchoo
    Nickname: Kuma
    Gender: Male
Info: Kuma was the offspring of two Beartics in the gym. When he hatched, he immediately latched himself onto Kelvin and refused to leave the main team. Kuma is the most immature of the four Pokemon on his team and always craves attention. He often competes with Dewey for Kelvin's attention and even learned how to swim so that he may take part in aquatic combat like Dewgong.

To the people above: looks good so far ^^

    To Godzil -
Ray saw this as a chance to take down his hated enemy from the inside, and joined immediately. He set about preparing his town for the war he felt was coming, and preparing himself for the coup d'etat of a lifetime.
... that kind of tells me that he doesn't fight for Team Rocket. Maybe want to change/clarify that?

And yeah, it's more like Risk. Though I think we'll remove that aspect. For now.

    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

So far, 4 players want to be "good" and 2 (me counted in) want to be with TR.

This means I want more TR gym leaders. Ideal would be 4 of each. You don't have to be downright evil to be with Team Rocket. Just try to work for the other side as a change! I think it will be fun.

I still won't review until I've gotten some more SUs (hopefully someone more wants in :3). One or two more days at least, I want to wait. If anybody feels they want to sign up as TR, you have a better chance of getting accepted, as there are so far more people who want to play with the Indigo Association.

    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Alsssssooo... I thought I'd just mention that I'm changing my Chandelure for a Lampent. I'm planning on evolving her at some point, probably.

  • ~almost done, just have to do the pokemon info~

    Name: Aryll
    Gender: Female
    Age: 20
    Chosen City: Azelea Town

City Situation: Azelea Town is actually a peaceful city, full of tranquility and calm. However, despite that, Rocket Grunts full the streets and corners of Azelea. The majority of people do not dress in the uniforms of Team Rocket, but, they are nonetheless Rocket Grunts dressed "in disguise". The rest of the population are merely observers, trying not to concern them selves with the affairs of Team Rocket. The slowpoke well is a base where Team Rocket communicated with other members around the region, coordinating shipments, and even captured pokemon. Aryll is gym leader that has been corrupted by greed, who has joined Team Rocket. She, with her flying pokemon, give instructions to team rocket grunts by messaging letters with her flying pokemon to each of them. She isn't as concerned by the rest of the non-grunt population, where they don't interfeere in any case. Or rather, they are afraid too due to Aryll's powerful pokemon.

    Appearance: http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g355/aquajaguar95/Anime/7d538f588caf9844bf80cf8629ab3e01125.jpghttp://img512.imageshack.us/img512/9408/ursulayl5.png

Personality: Aryll has a vindictive, disturbing personality. She has sort of an aura that drives her to be a purely evil being. She has a tendency to show her laugh (fufufufu...) whenever something goes her way. She is also very impatient; she all the time yells at the grunts to hurry out on the plans, and to yell: "COMMUNICATE FASTER!" if she is bored on the current conversion. She also has a habit on watching the wingulls and pelippers that glide past Azelea, which she has a soft spot for Seagulls. On another side, she is very ditzy, and pretty clumsy. She would for example, trip on her feet, and forget certain important things, for example, the coordinates for shipments.

People fear Aryll for her personality and devious mind; she has been perceived as a "genius" time and time again, despite her ditzy nature. Aryll isn't very social to the non-grunts, but she is very bossy to the real team rocket grunts. She doesn't really respect the leader of Team Rocket; she percevies her as "soft hearted and well manored". She has a weird habit on nicknaming her pokemon by hilarious antics -- for example, she nicknamed her gyarados "Brookyln rage".

Background: Aryll was born right in her hometown: Azelea. She was born into a wealthy family where her father was a owner for a company that built the structure of houses, pokecenters, marts, even gyms. Her mother was a nurse at a pokemon center in Ovline City, so her parents never really spent any time with her. When she was five though, she remembers watching the Wingulls and Pelippers flly by her window, when she was home alone. So, from that day on, she decided to read up on pokemon. When she was 10, she set out on her first pokemon journey. Her starter pokemon was a totodile from Professor Elm, whom she named "crocodile legs". As she travelled, she noticed a Taillow from a small flock of birds, She decided that would be her first captured pokemon. Along side her Totodile, she caught it a few days later when she finally got the hand of capturing pokemon. She caught a Magikarp a year later when she wanted to fish for pokemon, for she didn't really capture any pokemon to her liking. She also noticed a flying swablu, which idolized her, since she always loved flying pokemon, so she caught it with her totodile. Finally, she saw a gliscor with a stubborn attitude, though she caught it, for her love of flying pokemon. Speaking of flying pokemon, she idolized Falkner, the Violet City gym leader, for his expertise of flying pokemon. She used to sneak in the gym while Falkner had a match with a challenger, and watch his Pidegot defeat them all.

A few years later when she was 15, she began training so she could face Falkner in a match. When she was ready just a few days later, she ended up facing Falkner's Pidgeot against her Totodile. However, she was unsuccessful in that match, and Totodile ended up losing to Falkner's Pidgeot. It was then that a few days later, she realized that Totodile had overexerted itself, and fell into a deep illness; one that was life threatening. She went around shops and doctors to help find a cure, but the pokecenters were always too full to help her, and the pokemarts refused to stock up on the supplies she needed, because it was too much of a hassle. With no possible way to reverse it, Totodile finally cave in and passed away, Aryll could remember to her current age, 20, crying most of the day, and hated the world for not helping her at need. it was then...that something changed deep inside her. She became more vindictive and started to have no remorse for other people. All the time she battled, she was focused on one thing: "to crush her opponents...at any cost."

Over the years when she became 19, almost becoming 20, she and her pokemon matured, and Aryll ended up winning match after match, gym battle and normal battle alike. That was when the people in charge of the Indigo Plateau gave her a job serving as a gym leader in the unoccupied Azealea Town. She became the flying type gym leader, undefeated. One day...she recieved a call: "Gym battles....the honor of pokemon battles...all of that doesn't matter to you doesn't it? How would you like a job...working for Team Rocket?" Aryll could still remember the smile on her face when she recieved that call.

    Type: Flying

    Pokémon team:

    - Pokémon 1 Gyarados
    Nickname: Brooklyn Rage
    Gender: Female
Info: Caught in the outskirts of New Bark town, Brooklyn Rage was once a flimsy Magikarp that Aryll once held to dearly. As the years went by, Brooklyn Rage the Magikarp evolved to a ferocious Gyarados. Because of the long name however, Aryll just called her gyarados "Brooklyn". Brooklyn was as dark and cold as any pokemon came -- she respects her owner, Aryll, for commanding it to its full potential. Aryll never truely loved her Gyarados in return though; she simply stated it as: "a tool that is to be used".

    - Pokémon 2 Swellow
    Nickname: Mythias
    Gender: Male
Info: Mythias was once a Taillow that Aryll first caught in her early adventures. As the years went by and Aryll gone through her "changed behavior", he evolved into a Swellow. Mythias as a pretty much carefree, laid back nature; it doesn't have the motivation to fly at the speeds Aryll asks it to do, but instead, taking its sweet time. It also respects Aryll however, but Aryll, like with her other pokemon, doesn't feel compassion towards him.

    - Pokémon 3 Gliscor
    Nickname: Miss Vampire
    Gender: Female
Info: Miss Vampire was Aryll's last pokemon she captured during her travels. She then evolved into a Gliscor as years went by. She pretty much as a Rash, daredevil personality, since she would do loop-d-loops to dodge a foe's attacks, and free-fall dives when shortly after, fly with great strenth to keep itself up. Its a pokemon that admires battiling above all else. She trusts Aryll and her commands, but, even though it is loyal, Aryll again does not love it back.

    - Pokémon 4 Altaria
    Nickname: Cotton Candy
    Gender: Male
Info: Cotton Candy, or what Aryll calls: C.C, is a pokemon Aryll caught during her travels. It is actually a kind, forgiving pokemon that loves to help people in their need. As such, however, it is often scolded by Aryll nowadays. However, it still respects Aryll as its trainer. Moreever, sometimes, it become more depressed and perform moves less to its ability, due to the neglect it receives from Aryll.

    Looking good, Shawn!

Of course, you can sign up as whatever you like, but I'd rather there were equal allegiances... when the RP starts at least. And Snow Phoenix has told me that he wants to play a good character if he can, so he can.

Aaaand there we have 4 good and 4 TR players already. Since I like all the SUs I've been seing so far and somewhat know what to expect from Michaela, I feel rather content.

Nakuzami, Godzil, Supervegeta and jackblaze are accepted!

Miss Doronjo and MichaelaTheUchiha can finish their SUs and Snow Phoenix can edit it Ralph into a nice guy.

Just, Shawn, there was only ooone slight thing about your character that bothered me. Her name is so similar to my char's name xD Aryll and Ayrah. But I can actually change my char's name, so don't worry. *does that*

  • All I need is the personality and I am done. XD

Sadly enough, I need to change computers since I should be going to sleep soon. =3

Should we add moves, or no? And if so, how many moves are we allowed? XD

  • Now I'm done.

    Name: Kellyn
    Gender: Male
    Age: 23

    Chosen City: Cherrygrove City.

City Situation: Cherrygrove City, once an appealing town full of vividly colored flowers, lush grasses and a beautiful oceanside view is now a black, dirty, polluted place, filled with Team Rocket Grunts milling around, "protecting" the perimeter. The sea has been reduced to a black-ish bile, the grasses are yellow and coarse, and the flowers are all dead. Just dead. Their heads popped off, plucked out of the ground, burned, even. All because Kellyn had a sucky life. And now he shares it with the town. Once you step into city boundaries, you'll know that you won't come out...

Appearance: Kellyn is a menacing person, who will stare into you with beady amber eyes. His ashen white hair, which is jawline-length, is always tossed about uncaringly--it's like leaving it after you dry it after a shower. His forehead is set high with an obvious Widow's Peak, and his eyebrows are thin and scornful. The pale skin of his face, gaunt against his bones in the moonlight, is flawless and pale as a glass of milk. His thin nose and lips tell you he's not a happy man, and his pointy chin completes his thin face.

Kellyn has a thief's build, slim and nimble with just a bit of muscle. His neck is long, and his shoulders aren't that broad. His long, thin, pale arms reach to his knees, and his hands are long and thin. His torso is not too far across and barely protrudes at the chest. It thins as you get to his waist, and then his legs do the same to the ankle. Strangely small feet follow, with knobby ankles.

He wears, feet up, black high-top sneakers with the tops of white ankle socks peeking out. He wears white khaki shorts with too many pockets and an olive-green cloth belt. On his torso is a black long-sleeved, three-button t-shirt with grey stripes and a hood.He shoves the sleeves up his arms as to not get in the way of the black leather, fingerless gloves he wears. He has an opal pendant he always wears around his neck, and he wears, if not his hood, a white fedora with a black silk stripe around it.

Personality: Kellyn is cold and calculating. He's a devious, cutthroat shell of a man who lives to hate and hates to live. Seriously, his life sucks. But anyway, he'd trick you into cutting out your own heart with his words, he's so persuasive. He's a loner, and he's cool and collected, always standing out of the lie of fire, passing the blame on and on. He'd chew you up and spit you out and stick you under the seat of a bus if he could, although that's only when people go so far as to get on his nerves; all the same, he acts calm. He hates people (obviously), and when he's alone he talks to himself to figure out what to do next. He's mean and revolted with what people will do, although that is severely hypocratic as he'd do horrible things himself for little to no gain. He's a sly little jerk with no respect for anyone but his superiors, and even theirs is limited.

The only things that he holds close are his Pokemon. He loves them unconditionally, but will hide it under his usual mask of coldness whenever he is with someone. His Pokemon are used to it, and they even have a slave-friend code for battle. But the weirdest thing is thathe doesn't like any other Pokemon other than his own; he'll treat them, truly, as slaves or garbage. But he can like other things other than his Pokemon; a good fight, a peaceful walk, scaring the crap out of people, and playing a good game of chess. He LOVES chess. He can't stress enough how the tallest is the king, with the crown on its "head", and the queen the smaller one to its left. He hates messes, people and Pokemon (same conditions as stated above), attitudes, discord, and, surprisingly, is STILL afraid of the dark. Yes. He is afraid of the dark. His father died at night, and his mother died in a dark room. So be that.

Background: Kellyn was born in Pallet Town, of all places. His parents raised him in a loving and caring fashion, and he grew up a happy childhood. He was always running around outside, and his friends were great and plenty. His life was great, living in a snug little house, close to his family; and it got even greater when his father gave him his first Pokemon; a Feebas, whom Kellyn nicknamed Leviathan, as he was obsessed with whales at the time and he knew what Feebas would evolve into. And she was a great addition to his social life, because every kid around knew what a Feebas and a Magikarp would evolve into; ridiculously strong serpent-like water beasts.

One day, when the family was down at the beach on the south border of town, something almost magical to Kellyn's parents--and to Kellyn, really--happened; Leviathan evolved. They were splashing around in the water, the family, and Leviathan was getting everyone to seriously consider letting her play, when she abruptly stopped flopping around and swam out to sea. The whole family searched for hours, and they went back home. Kellyn came running back to the beach next morning. He saw what he thought he had through his window--a long, slender neck poking out of the water, and at the top, a round head with two long, blue, hairlike extensions protruding from it. It was a Milotic, a big, beautiful Milotic; named Leviathan.

But all the happiness was drained from his life one sad night. He was twelve, and he was allowed to stay at the beach as long as he didn't stray too far from the shore and stayed near Leviathan. When he dried off and went home, he heard a loud, strange wheezing noise. He knew immediately what it was. He ran upstairs, shook his mother awake and called an ambulance. Then he knelt over his flailing father, and held his hand, tears in his eyes, while his mother stayed on the line. She was describing everything that was happening to them, but Kellyn knew it was no good. He had noticed that his father was getting weaker and weaker, but he didn't know it was this bad. If only he had outright confronted his father about this...

The ambulance arrived, taking Kellyn's father away on a stretcher, but Kellyn knew what was going to happen already, and he asked to ride in the ambulance with his father. He was allowed, and when they got to the hospital, his father was breathing very shallowly. He wasn't allowed to go in until after an hour. He and his mother walked in, his mother in pajamas and him with his swim trunks and a sloppily thrown-on t-shirt. They said their goodbyes and watched Kellyn's father die. The funeral was horrible, but right after they were done with the service, a man in a black car pulled up next to Kellyn. The man got out, and told Kellyn and his mother that the land Kellyn's father had purchased was sitting on top of a huge deposit of copper, in Cherrygrove City. They didn't celebrate, but they were happy, and they invited the whole family to live with them, and they all accepted. They built a huge mansion on the property, complete with a swimming pool in front, and they all lived happily there.

But one night, when Kellyn was fourteen, he was up late playing video games and talking with friends, and he heard the door open below him in the foyer--and everyone else was in bed. He quickly turned everything off and hid under his bed. There were footsteps, and his door opened. He saw black, mudstained boots enter and retreat from his doorway, and he scrambled out from under his bed and followed the sounds and black mass silently, hiding in doorways and behind corners. He heard another door creak open; his mother's. The light was on, and her mother's face was hidden behind a book. He could tell that the man had found what he was looking for. He took out a knife, and Kellyn ducked behind a corner and texted his aunt, halfway across the building, to call the police. She replied just as the gurgling started. Kellyn closed his phone too loud, and the mass jumped out the window. His mother's neck was decorated with a large red smile, blood gurgling from it. She was dead. She was dead. Kellyn just sat there, hugging his mother and moving the book from her face, so as to see it one last time. It was beautiful and peaceful, just like the death she deserved. The police were too late, apparently, and they never found the man.

Kellyn allowed everyone to stay in the house, of course, but talked to the mayor about building a Gym into the town. He brought it up with the league, and they replied positively. So he built it in the basement, with the pool upstairs being for the family and the basement being totally converted into two sections; a training area, the right half, and the left half being the pool of the gym, with a large platform in the middle so that Kellyn could have battles either over or across the water. He started to hate people, and soon enough his heart was cold and rough. Any challengers would either be blown to smithereens or beat him just barely. One of the more recent challengers was an undercover Rocket Operative, asking Kellyn if he wanted to join and help them take the town by force. He agreed so that he could get his revenge on humankind, and now he lies in wait for challengers of his--and the leader's--authority.

    - Dewott
    Nickname: Razor
    Gender: Male
Info: The baby of Kellyn's team, Razor is very immature. He was given to Kellyn a generous trainer who lost to him in a battle, as an Oshawott. He is mischievous and often gets into trouble, although he has a kind heart. He looks up to Slasher for guidance.

    - Kabutops
    Nickname: Slasher
    Gender: Male
Info: Kabutops was a fossil found by Kellyn whilst digging in the basement of the Gym. He was revived from the fossil and grew and trained with Leviathan. He is cool and collected, always with his game face on. He is like Razor's mentor.

    And so ends the awesomeness.

  • My SU is finished. I'll probably edit the City's Situation later and combine it with the Gym Leader's Opinion, but otherwise it's complete and I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to reject or accept it and whatnot.

Also @-@ You made a mistake in the accepted player's section. Supervegeta wanted Dark types, not Ice types. It's me who wants the Ice types ^-^' I just thought it might be helpful to point that out.
