There's several reasons for this - life got in the way, Skyrim got in the way, my addiction to Nuzlocke challenges got in the way (I've actually got 4 on the go at once at the moment, all at the pre-E4 training stage except my White challenge which is just post-Nimbasa). I also started to draw out a Nuzlocke comic over on the official Nuzlocke boards.

    In other words, I had a million and one other things to do, and as my Soul Silver cartridge is in use (for one of those Nuzlocke challenges) I just never had a chance to start. I think it's probably best that I put my own repeat Ones that Got Away challenge on an official hiatus for now, but rest assured I'll still be checking the board to read updates and fiddle with the original post. I still fully intend to do my second challenge but it'll just be a while before I start. It's possible in fact that I'll bump it up to a White challenge instead, we shall see...

    Not a problem, I enjoy and envy guys like you and a couple of others who take time and write really good posts, not bullet pointed updates like myself :P I just don't have time to play AND do long updates.

    Bugged by Team Rocket.
    -Got the Egg and dumped it in the PC, never to be seen again.
    -Headed South onto Route 32, defeating all trainers.
    -Did Union Cave, fighting trainers, etc.
    -Arrived in Azalea Town, spoke to Kurt, took on Slowpoke Well.
    -Took on Rocket Exec Proton using Boomerang's Rock Tomb and Headbutt on Zubat and Beamos Psybeam on Koffing.
    -Healed, then took on the Azalea Town Gym.
    -Defeated Bugsy using Keaton's Bullet Punch, BeastLink's Tackle, Boomerang's Rock Tomb and Kaepora's Peck on Scyther, Beamos' AncientPower on Metapod and Beamos' Psybeam on Kakuna. Got the Hive Badge and U-Turn TM.

    Alright... so... first update, not that far in yet. All I have for now is a Squirtle (Who, ironically enough, was my starter of choice in the RBY days, but I hadn't used him yet in FRLG. Odd), since everything else is after Rock Tunnel.

    - Picked Squirtle in Professor Oak's Lab
    - Destroyed Red in a battle without having to use a potion
    - Ventured to Viridian City and did the whole "Oak's Parcel" errand
    - Grinded Squirtle to level 10 and beat Red on Route 22
    - Went through Viridian Forest
    - Got to Pewter City, beat the first trainer in the gym and Squirtle evolved to Wartortle
    - Crushed Brock with a couple of Water Guns
    - Got the running shoes from Oak's Aide
    - Cleared Route 3, Mt. Moon, and Route 4
    - Got to Cerulean City, found a hidden Rare Candy
    - Beat Red again, though it was a close fight because Sand-Attack hates me.
    - Cleared Nugget Bridge and the rest of Rt. 24 and 25.
    - Visited Bill and got the SS Ticket
    - Journeyed back to Cerulean, ready to fight Misty

    • I was actually thinking of doing this challenge, and then I realized all the Pokemon that I wanted to go for a Poison monotype challenge with this. I'm not sure this is allowed, but there are 6 specific Pokemon that I've always wanted to use. The reason I want to do a mono on this thread and not the other one is the extra challenges I want to include here.

    Game: All (Fire Red, Heart Gold, Emerald, Platinum, White)
    List of Pokemon that got away: Beedrill, Nidoking, Vileplume, Gengar, Tentacruel, and Crobat
    Number required: 6
    Any specific requirements: I'm not starting with fully evolved forms, I will start off with the base forms of each.

    Again, if this is not allowed and I have to pick from a wider range of Pokemon then I'll do so.

    In other news, I'm putting my challenge on hold, SS is really slow and annoying, and I'm not enjoying it as much as the other challenges I'm doing. Hopefully I can get around to finishing it eventually.

    Seems reasonable to me, if those are the Pokemon you've always wanted to raise, then those are your Ones that Got Away. Go for it!

    Yeah, I know the story made it seem like Randall went into Mt. Moon as a Nidoran, but I did a little off screen training before going in there. He evolved shortly before going into Mt. Moon and meeting Donna. By the way, if you guys could recommend any challenges for any Pokemon I have so far I'm open for suggestions here.

    Edit 2: All right, since my last update I made immense progress through my challenge run. I won't be able to document what happened exactly and I couldn't possibly do it by memory. So I'm just going to show my team and describe any new Pokemon I catch.

Of course, there's going to be the whole fiasco with the Sevii Islands. I think I'll go there after I beat the 8th gym and the 7th(?) rival battle if I think I need training.
