  • I'm honestly surprised that the series for Sakura Spirit has lasted this long. Considering the way that the other Japanese game they played went (the name is slipping my mind, and I don't really feel like looking it up) I'm surprised they chose such a similar game when it's obvious that the end result and reception is going to be the same.

  • I just checked and it was called Go! Go! Nippon or something. I really did not enjoy that series, but at least Ross is letting up a little on the annoying voices for Sakura Spirit.

Favorite Series: That's a hard one, I really like most of their series, hard to pick just one. How about...Super Mario World? That was a great one, and actually motivated me to beat SMW 100%.

For current series, I haven't watched a terrible lot of Simon's Quest yet, I'm suprised how much love Sakura Spirit is getting, considering that hasn't been any real gameplay yet(if there is any in some kind of form whatsoever), and I'm having a love/hate relationship with 3D World. I like that the Grumps are getting back into their Mario spirit(thought they were going to play SM64 next but whatever), but considering how much of an absolute jerk Arin is being, I'm having a hard time liking it.

  • I looked up "Sakura Spirit Speedrun" to see how to long the game was. Found out that the game is pretty much 99% dialogue. In fact, there is only one choice in the entire "game." I was really happy when Dan finally beat Arin in 3D world, and hopefully it will stop being so competitive. I like the cooperative series a lot more!

I recently became a fan, so there are still many series that I haven't watched, but I think the Grumps are hilarious. I tend to enjoy the Steam Train series the most, especially the ones with Dan and Ross. I recently finished the King's Quest VI series and I laughed more from that series than I have from any other series. Dan's and Ross's commentary was excellent haha. Now I'm watching the King's Quest V series :3

I watched Secret of the Magic Crystals, a recent one-off, earlier and

Also, did you guys catch that the game company Sierra (they made King's Quest and Space Quest and Ross and Danny love them) is making a comeback? Ross posted on the video announcing the comeback, asking for "more adventure games please." Maybe they will make a modern King's Quest/Space Quest and we can see it on Grumps?

No, I did not catch that; I'll have to look for the video later. A modern Sierra game would be amazing, especially if the Grumps played it.

I actually haven't been watching the grumps lately, I've been on-and-off checking out the Castlevania series because I want to see Arin rage at it because I know he hates it because I watch Sequelitis five times a day (no i dont). I don't even pay much attention to Steam Train at all actually, aside from one offs like that one Only If game that was super trippy and weird.

I wish they'd go back and get Fire Red done.

Welcome Goldfish Horde, Wobbu, TaichiWind to the club! All your info had been updated into the OP, so I'll just let Barry do all the celebrating from here on out!
    Spoiler:

I've decided that I'm going to start a new daily bit for this club where I'm going to take a video from the Game Grumps vault and display it here so we can reminisce on some good ol' classic Grump episodes. Today's episode is going to be a blast from the past, as it was one that created such a popular Grump meme - Gundam: Battle Assault 2 - Game Grumps VS!

  • oh, cool idea! My favorite part of the video was right before the third or fourth battle. Dan made it seem like he was going to select someone else but ended up choosing Big Zam, which was funny because he had me fooled into thinking he was going to choose someone else. The effect wore off after that battle though, so I was hoping he would eventually choose someone else. At least we got to see the Ball vs. Ball battle at the end haha.

Another funny thing was how OP Big Zam was because Dan had no idea what he was doing and yet he was one win away from winning five matches haha

  • Oh hey, Big Zam! Probably my favorite one-off. The best part was when Arin totally kicked Dan's butt when they both picked Big Zam.
Arin also had a pretty good understanding of how to do that special attack, so that gave him a pretty big advantage. Also it was just hilarious to see Dan freak out whenever Arin got behind Dan's Big Zam haha.

He really is OP! I thought it was hilarious that Dan picked Big Zam even though Arin had already picked him. I'm pretty sure Dan probably did not know whether or not you could both pick the same character, so it was pretty funny to see him think quickly on his toes when Arin picked Big Zam.

For today's episode, we're going to go all the way back to the Jon Era with Nickelodeon Guts: The Trial of the Century - Part 1!

Also just as an added bonus, what do you think of Danny's new NSP song, Why I Cry?

  • Nickelodeon Guts was the first video where I actually felt bad for Arin. Did Jon think that was like a "secret technique" or something? Either way, I imagine if Arin button mashed for long enough he would figure it out, unless it was some combination of buttons for a certain amount of time or something crazy like that. Pretty funny one-off, though.

So I just ordered the new "Hey I'm Grump" T Shirt, and I really want a classic Jon "I'm not so grump" T Shirt. Does anyone know where I can get one? (or perhaps have one they don't want and would be willing to sell?)

    Also, discussion topic!

In this episode, do you agree with Jon or Arin? I personally believe Billy Bob Thornton was being incredibly immature and that the interviewer was handling it very well for being faced with such a ridiculous amount of disrespect, so for once, I'm definitely on Jon's side.

On the topic of whether or not Jon was wrong for withholding information on how to play the game, I think it was fine to not tell Arin how the controls worked. They were playing against each other, after all, and they both had the same lack of knowledge and experience of the game. I thought the whole thing was really funny, though.

    @Why I Cry
I'm not too fond of NSP's type of humor, but I thought this video was funnier than most of the other videos I have watched. He even cries when he uses a sextant; that was my favorite part haha.

You would think that after the second time around playing that too he would have figured out the controls by then. But I do see where he's coming from though, considering I would have been pretty much filled with rage also if that was the case haha.

I don't believe so; your best best would probably be to just make a custom shirt with the logo/art on it. However if you want "Grump" apparel, there's a wide assortment of stuff found here:

Also your link you posted is broken, so we don't exactly know what you are talking about.

Jon just seems like the kind of guy who really doesn't like to lose, as evident by many Game Grumps VS'. For comedic sake it was good that he didn't tell him, but if they were just playing against each other for fun I think Jon should have told him the controls.

And how dare you not like NSP material, boooooooo

This was the first VS with Jon that I have watched, so I was thinking he was doing it to be funny. It worked, though. He won that basketball thing and the way he was making Arin mad with his terrible responses were really funny.

Ahaha like I said, not my type of humor, but I do like how they make their videos seem like they are low-budget rather than making them look like something you would see on MTV.
