Going to give this another shot! This time I am uploading them from my PC as opposed to pulling them from G-Mail. The Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix is Russell and the Red/Blue Heeler is Boomer. Russell is about 5 1/2 now and Boomer is just over 4 years old.

Now it's crystal clear. These are great photos! It looks like you and your canines have been on some nice adventures. I love to roam around beaches with dogs. Your pics have brought back some fond memories of me and my shepherd growing up, running in the surf.

They seem like sweet-tempered furry friends. Their bandanas are also quite handsome.

Thank you! Growing up on the lake was always nice for having dogs. I had a yellow lab when I was a kid and she pretty much lived in the water!

It's been almost a year since I got Kenzi so I wanted to give a little pupdate! She's progressed a lot since we first got her. She still has some pretty bad anxiety issues but overall we can leave her at the house for long periods of time now without worrying about her destroying the furniture.... mostly (rip the extension cord by my study desk). She's got lots of toys and several new doggy beds because my parents love to spoil her. She's very friendly with other dogs and even gotten a bit more vocal! She picked up howling at sirens a while back and Kenzi actually got to the front page of Imgur a while back for one of the videos I took.

All in all while she's still got some signs of trauma, she's made a lot of progress thanks to me being home nearly constantly since March. One good thing to come out of quarantine. I'm hoping to get her into official training and to see if we can possibly have some of her larger anxiety issues addressed early 2021, but we'll need to see how the year progresses. Depends on the pandemic and all.

And of course here's some obligatory pictures of my girl:

Spoiler:

Also if you want to see a video of her howling: here

I'm worried about what to do with my Prince. I took him the vet to look at the swelling around his paw. The doctor thought it actually looked like it could be a limpoma, which isn't a big deal usually. Mostly they are benign. He recommended doing a biopsy to be 100% certain though because they can sometimes be cancerous. I would be very surprised if it was malignant since basically he seems to be energetic, affectionate, healthy appetite, wanting exercise. However, I did think it made sense to follow up with the biopsy for peace of mind just to make sure he will be alright.

The appointment was scheduled for next week, but I am starting to worry now that I know more details about the procedure. I didn't understand until recently that my dog had to be put to sleep to do the biopsy when the nurses let us know that he shouldn't eat for several hours beforehand. I thought he was just going to be sedated, I don't know our boy was going under. I am concerned because he's a middle aged dog, and doesn't have severe health problems but he does have a few ailments, some lupus, arthritis, hip dysplasia--very common with the Pyrenees breed. I wonder if the risks of a general anesthesia might be higher than the likelihood of him having cancer. I do know people who have had pets put to sleep for surgery that didn't wake up. I am starting to get really anxious, and fret that maybe I should postpone the test.

Keep all of our pet friends in your thoughts, wishes and prayers.

Oh :( I will try to send prayers your way.

I have a little toy poodle named Evie, who is indeed partially named after the pokemon, as she is brown like an eevee. My parents' dog is a standard poodle named Luna, who I had the honor of naming as well (no, it does not have anything to do with MLP, I just named her that because her black and white coat reminds me of the moon.) We have poodles mainly due to a family dog allergy.

Your poodles sound so cute. I like the name Evie after the Pokemon. I hadn't thought of the My Little Pony reference, my first thought was actually of Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. In any case Luna is a gorgeous and magical sounding name. I bet she sure is pretty if she looks like the moon.

Your house of poodles reminds of my grandfather. He was a poodle trainer.

Thank you for your kind words and well wishes to my dog household too! /Hugs
Excited to have you in the club!

My pooch got through the biopsy, and my family vet said the results showed nothing bad. I am so grateful to have our big, sweet dog still with us this Christmas. The house just wouldn't be the same without our furry friend.

Now even with a non-malignant tumor it still gives him some awkwardness moving around at times because of it's size and the position on his leg. He is also just getting older, and there's some arthritis and hip dysplasia that tends to come with the breed, so he is slower moving around than he used to be, and sometimes can trip, but we are buying lots of pretty rugs and putting them everywhere to brighten up the space, and give our canine friend a better grip since there's hardwood floor in most of the rooms. Also getting non-skid carpet pads for the stairs to make it easier for him to go down. I have a ramp he can climb to help him get in and out of cars because he still likes to take backseat rides. He also goes for walks in the park, and they seem to be doing him good.

He seems happy, alert, not in pain and is still pretty big and strong, and has no severe health issues pressing down on him. His last medical checkup went well. The doc just would like him to lose a couple of pounds, so he's eating fewer treats, and sticking to a wellness dog food formula, a little lean, skinless chicken breast, a glucosomine supplementary vitamin and a dental care milk bone as a snack.

I have always loved golden retrievers. They are very beautiful and easily recognizable dog breeds with the silky honey gold hair, friendly dispositions and how bright and trainable they are. Seeing them represented in different movies and tv shows as a kid like the Air bud/buddies series and the 10th Kingdom also made them a really memorable and favorite breed of mine.

I came across a very cute YouTube channel, falling the escapades of a precious retriever called Bailey. This is a heart-warming video of the day this family first brought Bailey home as a 7 week old puppy. I melted, as should you!

That video was uploaded in 2018, and Bailey has gone from a darling puppy and blossomed into a handsome, vibrant and charming young man over the years. Here's a video of an adult Bailey welcoming a new Bernese Mountain Dog into the family. Bailey is the best big brother you could ask for to his fellow creatures! This channel is littered with video of him playing with other dogs, cats, bunny rabbits, birds, and of course, people. He has a really delightful personality.

This is a humorous video I found about how your friends would act if they were like a dog or cat. There a few different videos in this series, but this one I found the most charming, I think because of the ending and the vacuum. I have both a dog and a cat, and find this very truthful.

How many of you see a little of your dog here?

My parents have their dogs and 2 outside stary cats they take care of though also they're our families dogs as well since my sister and I visit our parents every weekend and spend time with them and their dogs and cats. However their more my parents dogs since me and my sisters dogs we had when living at home years ago passed away due to old age, so we both have two cats now and we live in an apartment complex. Our dogs names where Jasmine and Leo ( Leo was my dog ) both Golden Retrievers. Both my sister and I love our families/parents dogs just as much as our cats and my parents cats they help take care of too. My family was more known as a dog lovers family for all life, still are today.

I plan to maybe perhaps get a real certified therapy or specialist dog for my severe anxiety and C-PTSD I have way in the future if I can find one and have the right room for it if my sister and I can move to a house apartment that allows pets. It also be so cool if we could find a place close we're my parents live as well so I can walk over to their house and help them out with the home cleaning our watching thier dogs and cats. So right now I don't know for certain I'll get another dog for sure. After loseing Leo was the hardest thing for me and now that I have Tac a cat. He helps me out like if he was a real certified therapy cat and my best companion and friend I have, I'd be lost without him. I also feel my Dog Leo soul is in Tac in someway since Tac choose me after all, a long story.

So yeah I'm still a dog lover and lover of all animals really. Possibly show photos of my patents dogs if not just count me as a dog fan and supporter of this club. I'm a semi private person is why I'm iffy about posting pictures on here, apologies but I'm just a very cautious person also.

My parents dog breeds they have are:
A Eroupeian Great Dane Mearl puppy almost 7 weeks now, a Full Black Labrador Retriever, a Black Labrador Retriever German Shortharried Pointer Mix, Lastly a Golden Retriever, Labrador Australia Shepherd Mix. There older dogs.

Today would be my favorite babies 12th birthday.

A tumor took her life right before Christmas a couple years back. She was the sweetest dog a person could ever ask for.

I'm sorry for your loss. She looked like such a cute little pomeranian. What a horrible disease, taking your baby away so soon :(

Things aren't going the best over here for one of my pups. Briggs is pretty sick with liver disease and it's progressed fast. He's lost so much weight over the month, but he's at least eating fresh chicken now. I'm hoping we can get some weight back on him and help him through this. Luckily, his liver isn't scarred, so it has a good chance to regenerate with the proper nutrition and liver supplements, but it's definitely been taking a toll on him.

Here he is enjoying the freshly cut grass and warm spring air. You can see how skinny he is, poor thing. We've tried so hard to keep him happy and healthy.
Spoiler:

Luckily, Cocoa is totally healthy and completely fine. Just the same as she's always been. Sweet girl.
Spoiler:

All of that to ask: have any of you dealt with liver disease in dogs before? If you did, is there any advice you could give to a fellow doggo lover? I just want my beautiful, vibrant boy back.

Giving a cuddle to all the dogs in this thread, be they here with us physically now or in spirit, and a hug to their loving owners too, a special get well soon cards signed with a paw print for Briggs.

This is a video that brought a smile to my face today, about the sleeping positing of a dog, and it might bring some amusement to all the dog lovers here. What position does/did your dog sleep in the mos

I have seen my Prince do most of them at some point, but I think he sides sleeps a lot and does the doughnut. Will lay on any clothes he can find too.

Cocoa loooooves to do the crazy legs on-her-back position. And yeah, I'd say she's a confident, calm, and independent doggo!

Briggs really loves the back-to-back one as well. We fell asleep with me spooning him this morning. I'm glad to know that he trusts me and feels comfortable enough to let me put an arm around him. Cocoa HATES this sleeping position, though, lol.

They both are certainly side and donut sleepers, though! So cute to see what position your pup has found him or herself in 🖤

Briggs is an Angel.png

Briggs unfortunately passed away last week due to liver failure. The days are still so difficult. He had just turned 5 and I feel like I've failed him. A part of me has been torn out and destroyed, never to be repaired, never to be replaced. We love you so much, Briggs. I hope you're in Heaven, enjoying your life with other dogs, waiting for the day we reunite.

I'm sure I'll have many more pieces of art, both drawn and written, to commemorate Briggs and all the love and joy he brought to my life in the short time that he was with me.

Please give your dog a hug and a kiss and tell them how much you love them. You never know how much time you have left.

briggs and friends in heaven.png

Here's a gift I spent a while creating, to the kindly vet who helped lay Briggs to rest in our backyard, the shelter worker who kept up with Briggs every step of the way, and myself for losing such a valued and beloved member of our family. I still feel guilt every day over what happened. I hope to meet Briggs again some day, and love him once more.

I so sorry for your loss, and just want to give you a big hug CiCi.

The feeling of futility as a pet dies is something that I have felt the
bitterness of too. I still feel guilty over the death of my loyal, brave Cinnamon shepherd many years ago, and ask myself things like if only the signs of illness had been detected sooner, could we have extended his life?
Or if I had more money and kept going to different clinics, trying different places--then maybe a good cure could have been found. If only he had a really nice urn and burial that was worthy of him. I reflect on times
when I was away from him and he stayed with relatives of mine while I was in living situations where pets weren't allowed, and look back with regret on some time I missed out on that could been have spent with him. I
reproach myself about things I might have done better, and feel like a bad caretaker, though I am told that I am not.

Based on everything you have shared about your boy though it sounds like you took him in, rescued him from who knows what, and provided him with a safe home to live out his life in with good nututrition, medical care,
companionship, support and affection and made every consideration for his health and happiness, and did all you could to ease his suffering when his life was drawing to a close through no fault of your own. I see someone working very hard to do what was best for Briggs, and think of you as a dedicated pet parent who stepped up to the plate, and hearing how you're hurting inside I think makes your actions in the face of adversity and death even braver. I think the pain and voices of self critism you suffer are a testament to how seriously you took your job as being Brigg's mother, and how deeply you loved him, and that grief can only come from a place of love and good intentions. You're not a failure to me.

I admire how much love is in your heart CiCi. It's truly been moving seeing how you have remembered Briggs and celebrated his life with your flair, an all of this delightful art, and told stories about your friend that really male him live again. The picture of Briggs running free, flying on angel wings with all of the companions who touched your heart in a woods of light and rainbow seems like something out of What Dreams May Come. It's so sweet and lovely, very touching.

It sounds like you are going through a natural part of the human grieving process when we lose someone special to us, the survivor's guilt. It's not easy. I went into some of my worst years of depression after the death of of dog, and have friends and family members who have also taken these losses hard, a pet is part of the family, and it can affect us no differently than when a person dies.

You can heal though, and I think the art you create is not only a sensitive memorial, but also good way to express yourself and you're goimg through, turning some of the negative feelings into something positive and constructive. I think you are instinctively doing all the right things. Remember that he is free from pain now and with his ancestors, and joined with other dogs you loved, and he still lives on here with you in your heart and memory and inside of everyone who knew and loved him, he's preserved in ins photographs, the spots he liked to visit, any thing he ever played with and left behind you, every time you talk about him think of him, draw picture him and write about him he's there, and you will be together again one day.

I am giving my dog a hug right now, counting my blessings and saying a prayer both for you and Briggs.

For anyone unaware, we recently got two new puppies! Two brothers. Apollo (brindle), and Hades (fawn). I have some pictures of them up in the Pet Pictures thread here on PC.

And today, I found a little baby puppy tooth on the floor! It's the first one we've found. Turns out, it's Apollo's upper right canine, the first canine tooth lost between them (with lots of their front teeth grown in)!
