  • Inheritance: Game of Death

You arrive at the Mansion, The Grand Wolff Manor. The gates are opened by two strong men in uniforms as your carriage draws near. You, like many others, had received a letter in the mail explaining how a long forgotten relative has left you a part of their estate upon their passing. You can't quite recall who they were, but you were intrigued enough to show your face at the meeting. As your carriage draws closer to main building's entrance you take a moment to look around you at the enormous castle that looms eerily in the light of the setting sun.

"Hellooo!" A large and muscular man booms from the doorway. "Welcome! Do come in and sit with the others. You were nearly late." He helps you out of the carriage and into the building. The great hallway you enter into is brightly lit by candles and the light filtering through a large stained glass window on the far wall. Gold adorns the walls and coats every light fixture. If you had any doubt of the wealth of your late relative it all washes away in an instant. Beautiful paintings and tapestries adorn the walls as you walk for what seems like ages before arriving at a large room filled with expensive furniture and many distant relatives you forgot you knew.

Lady Luck sat at a table, shuffling a deck of cards with a pile of gold coins stacked in front of her. Undoubtedly the result of scamming a couple relatives who had a few too many drinks. A few relatives argued in the corner next to a broken lamp, Miss Fortune standing nearby sipping on a glass of champagne. She giggled and waved her fingers at Mr. Smalls who flexed his enormous muscles and grinned. Mr. Grime slipped his sticky fingers into someone's pocket, Mrs. Snitch tattling to her husband about the theft she'd witnessed. Mr. Bigg sat at a table with a large beer, his tiny legs dangling off the chair but not quite touching the floor. Dr. Stein sat in the corner with an expressionless face as his daughter Crystal downed another bottle of expensive wine. Your eyes wander over to the corner where a man sat all alone. You seem to recall him looking strikingly similar to the late Mr. Wolff however you aren't quite sure of his name.

The man who greeted you earlier interrupted your thoughts as he began to speak. "Attention! Attention all!" he called out, the noise in the room dying down. "I'm sure by now you've all had enough time to get acquainted. It is my honor to inform you that Mr. Wolff is not dead." murmurs of shock and confusion erupted around the room. He waited for it to become quiet again before continuing. "Yes, that's right. Master Wolff is very much alive and doing exceptionally well. You have all been summoned here, not to collect money or valuable items, but rather to participate in The Game of Death!" A few of the men and women let out short screams of shock at the name, and the man wasted no time before continuing his speech.

"The Game of Death is a game invented through generations of trial and error, rules were made, scrapped, and in the end it's resulted in three major rules: The first, Nobody is allowed to leave the confines of the Manor. The second, Nobody is allowed to stay locked in their room and not participate in the days events for two days or more. And the third, Each day you are required to vote on, and kill, one person. The punishment for breaking one of these rules is immediate death." Many screams erupted from all over the room. A few women had passed out, their husbands bent over them fanning their faces. "You may be wondering why Mr. Wolff would ever force you to play such a horrid game. Well, you see, the answer is simple."

"Mr. Wolff himself is a beast of supernatural origin. A lycanthrope, or werewolf as the commoners would call him. He seeks to create a pack, however he needs to find the strongest of you to join him. Each night he will assault one of you and leave the lycanthrope virus in your blood. The weak will perish at the hands of the virus, but those of you strong enough will accept the virus and become a werewolf yourself." Gasps of shock and horror rang out around you. "However there is one more twist! Mr. Wolff is nothing if not fair, and as such will hide among you during the day. You will not know who he is, however if you kill him all of the werewolves will perish as well, ending the Game of Death and allowing everyone left alive to leave in peace."

    Goodnight, and sweet dreams.

    Roleplaying

All players are required to roleplay as their character according to the rules listed in the PM the receive prior to the start of the game. This will mainly be speech patterns, but some characters may have additional quirks. Players may create their own speech patterns, quirks, and name by filling out the form below and PMing it to me. DO NOT POST YOUR SIGN-UP IN THIS THREAD. Names will be used in phase posts so you want to keep them a secret. Sign-up forms are not required, if you don't send me a sign-up I'll assume you want a pre-made character to rp as and send you their information at the start of the game. Roles will only go out to a select few, both pre-made and custom made, as I'm trying to keep the amount of roles other than vanilla player and werewolf low.
