Let's just make this simple. Answer these two questions, and I'll keep a running list in this post.

1.) WHEN will the next main series game(s) be announced? All I'm looking for is a date, month, and if you think beyond 2017, year.

2.) WHAT will the next main series game(s) be? I'm not really looking for a title (Stars, Platinum 2, etc). Just a short description. Sinnoh remakes? Alola revisit? Sequels? Etc.

Whoever is closest gets... well absolutely nothing.

  • Every generation since gen 3 has had at least 2 games.

I'm predicting an alolan revisit/sequel. Or if we're very lucky, DP remakes.

I think they'll be released around late 2017 or 2018.

High likelihood of DP remakes I would think - it's already been 10 years since the originals in Japan. If it's soon enough for Batman it's soon enough for Pokémon, especially as video game technology has advanced a lot in that time.

I'm gonna say sometime late this year or early next year. I actually think I am leaning more towards the latter(Spring 2018 announcement) with a holiday release once again.

    SM sequels or 3rd version.

  • May 30th for the next games announcement.

They're gonna be Alola sequels/revisits. I'm still believing that XY was a one-off and that we'll go back to the usual generation structure now.

Do you think it'll be paired sequels like Gen V, or a third version? I'm not sure what they could call a 3rd version - ever since they moved away from the gemstone names with the likes of Black & White, X & Y, Sun & Moon I just can't really think of a name that would sound good for a non-paired version and I do wonder if that will play into their thinking somewhat. Although Platinum wasn't exactly an obvious name.

Well the Sun and Moon are both celestial body so the 'Stars's version everyone has been talking about would fit into that for a third version. Otherwise, they could always just go for Sun 2/Moon 2 for the sequels.

I guess if anyone at Gamefreak is a GoT fan that would make sense haha. I was meaning more like Sun & Moon seem very binary - they're the two things we see in the sky at day and night, whereas there are billions of stars in the universe, multiple planets in the galaxy and I don't see them calling one "Pokémon Earth"

Did they actually announce anything? I'm actually still secretly hoping for a Kanto3, but chances are very low...
